Dicks, Everett Morgan – Passed peacefully away at the age of 78 years, at the Health Sciences Centre on February 4th, 2016 in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by father and mother, Maxwell and Laura, father-in-law John M. Organ, brother-in-law Ronald Woodman, sister-in-law Monica Hutton. Leaving to mourn wife Mabel; children: Linda Sullivan (Harold), Ed (Christina) and Sharon Jones (Shawn); grandchildren Christopher and Jacob Dicks and Chloe Jones; mother-in-law Bernadette Organ; sister Winnie Woodman; as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and members of the Canadian Peace Keeping Veteran Association. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation on Saturday, February 6th and Sunday February 7th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 8th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Norberg, M. Verna After a beautiful life, passed peacefully away in the presence of her family, at the Masonic Lodge, on February 6, 2016; aged 91 years. Predeceased by her parents John and Violet Norberg, her sister Lorna Grace and her brothers Raymond, Ericsson, Leonard Leroy. Leaving to mourn are her two sisters Shirley Gray (late Raymond Balfour) and Millicent Ross (late Ted) and a wide circle of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Masonic Lodge for the care they showed Verna. Cremation has taken place. Family will be visiting at Carnell’s Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Rd. on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in Anglican Cemetery Forest Rd. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice or flowers gratefully accepted.

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on Sunday February 7, Jacqueline Johnson, aged 83 years. Predeceased by her husband Whitfield and son Anthony. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her children Paul, Christine (Randy), Kathy (Doug), Randy (Shirl) and Fred; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother Harold King; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Tuesday February 9 from 2-9 p.m. and Wednesday February 10 from 10-9 p.m. Funeral on Thursday February 11 at 10 a.m. from The Carnell Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Kenmount Road Anglican Cemetery. DAWE, Edna Millicent - Promoted to Glory on Monday, February 8, 2016, surrounded in love by her family. Predeceased by her brothers; Lt. Colonel Baden Marshall, Tom Marshall, her sister, Edie Callegari, Sister in Law Lillian Kettle and brother in law Roy Conibear. Leaving to mourn with loving and wonderful memories; her husband David, daughter Cathie (Tim Madden), and sons Rob (Tina) and Davey (Julie). Also her precious grandchildren; Casey, Hunter and Bailey Madden, Jordan, Mark and Sarah Dawe, and Ainsley and Camden Dawe. Brother Jimmy Marshall (Joan), and sisters in law; Mildred Conibear, Marcella Osmond (David), June Marshall and Sheila Marshall, brother in law Tony Kettle (Laurie), and many other close friends and relatives, including; her Deaf community, whom she so dearly loved, The Embroiders Guild of Newfoundland, of which she was a life long member, and her Wednesday night embroidery circle. In her lifetime she touched innumerable lives and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her faith ran deep and never faltered. She loved her church and church family and prayed constantly for each and every one. Although not a native Newfoundlander, no one loved Newfoundland more than her. She was loved by all who met her and we are astounded by the outpouring of love we have experienced throughout all of this. A thank you is not adequate enough for the love and care we received, not only for mom but for all of us: from the nurses, doctors and the entire staff of the Health Science Centre 4 North A. We love you all! Visitation with family and friends will take place on Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 11, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm each day at Carnell's Funeral Home on Freshwater Road. A celebration of Edna's life will take place Friday, February 12, 2:00 pm at The Salvation Army St. John's Citadel Corps, 25 Adams Avenue. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army, St. John's Citadel Youth Department.

Passed suddenly away at home in Flatrock surrounded by her fur babies Tiff, Zoë and Louis, Monique Parrott, aged 45 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 25 years Paul Abbott; her parents Julie and Clarence Parrott and sister Cindy Parrott (Neil Autton); also many other relatives and friends. Oakley, Brenda Anne Marie – Passed away suddenly at her residence on Thursday February 11th, 2016 Brenda Oakley, age 63 years. Predeceased by her brother James Oakley; sister Donna Whelan; parents Andrew and Agatha Oakley, stepmother Josephine. Leaving to mourn daughters: Rhonda Gustavson (Kent) and Lori Walsh; sisters: Barbara Rhymes (Gordon), Peggy Oakley, Andrea Oakley, Darlene Oakley and Debbie Oakley; brother, Mark Oakley; also other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Peter Roger Chaytor (1953 – 2016) - Peter Roger Chaytor passed away suddenly on February 12th, 2016. Peter was born on September 11th, 1953, a Linesman of Newfoundland Power with 35 years of service. Peter was an avid fan of classic cars, he enjoyed music and dancing, and he loved to garden and take walks and enjoyed the outdoors. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Roy Chaytor of Mount Pearl, and his brother Paul Chaytor. Leaving to mourn his loving daughters: Adele Palmer (Michael) and Sheena Chaytor (Stephen); brother, Tony Chaytor; sisters: Dorothy (Bob) Lancaster, Peggy (Lloyd) Williams, and Ann (Al) Wold-Crotty; precious grandchildren: Weston, Logan and Hannah; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. At Peter’s request cremation has taken place. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Priscilla Drover, parents-in-law Harry and Annie Sheppard, infant grandson Matthew, and special niece Marjorie Mercer. Leaving with loving memories; her husband of 55 years, John (Jack); sons Brad (Norma), John (Christine); daughters Michèle (Robert Cashin), Wendy (Brian Scammell), Heather (Keith Predham), Jacqueline (Jackie) (Alvin Osmond); grandchildren John, Laura, John, Jennifer, Adam, Ian, Andrew, Kathleen, Claire, Emma, Aidan; brothers Albert (Marie), Edwin (Regina), Aidan (Ann), Aubrey (Beverley); sisters Linda (Eric Giles), Joan (John Lane), Mary (Neil French), Mildred (Derick Guzzwell), Brenda (David Vardy), and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
