Arthur Welshman
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur Welshman announce his passing on Sunday, April 13, 2003 at LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 81 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: spouse Ruby Green; children: Judy Gorman (Garry), Donald Welshman (Carol), Elaine Spencer (Patrick), Brian Welshman (Mary), Max Welshman (Heather), Denise Parsons (Tony), Raymond Welshman (Eileen), 14 grandchildren; Kenny, jean, Jenesta, Joanne, Jenine, Jenelle, Tony, Patti-Lynn, Kane, Kate, Victoria, Joey, Lacey, and Jessica; one great grandchild, Myles, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Hew as predeceased by father George Welshman, mother Mary Marsh, and brothers William, Stewart and John. Friends visited Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Sunday evening, and Fillatre's, 218 Curling Street, Corner Brook on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, at 2 pm from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Curling, Rev. Ed King officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Receiving Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted.
Philip Beales
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Philip Beales announce his passing on Saturday, April 12, 2003 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 74 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children; Glenda Beales, Irene (Ron) Jesso, Phyllis (Bruce Park), Tony (Heather) Beales, Pius (Elizabeth) Beales, Gary Beales, Helen (Ron Deluney), Agnes (Bill Brothers), Geniene (Brian Park) and Deniene (Peter Salovitch); 16 grandchildren: Jason, Rosalyn (John), Ronnie, Mark, Jeremy, Jonathon, Jennifer, Billy (Tina), Sarah, Philip, Dean, Justin, Kayla, Alicia, Emily, Olivia and Katia; two great grandchildren; John and Jocelyn. One sister: Veronica Joyce, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred Ann, and daughter Sylvia Ann.
Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, at 10:30 am from Sacred Heart Church, Curling, Fr. Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment to follow at the Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit or Chemo Unit.
Ethel Winnifred Bennett
It is with great sadness that the family of the late ETHEL WINNIFRED BENNETT announce her passing on Wednesday March 12, 2003 at the Interfaith Home, Corner Brook at the age of 88.
She will be sadly missed by her son John Robinson (Janet), step son John Bennett (Margaret), Cormack; grandchildren: Michael Robinson (Sherry), Faith Robinson, Noel Robinson, Sheldon Robinson (Maxine), Vicki Earle (Gregory); great grandchildren: Janet and Shane Twyne, Shelley and Christopher Robinson, sisters: Mabel Abbott and Edna Peckford (Ronald), Kitchener, Ontario; brother Cyril Janes (Edna), Curling, and numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband James Bennett in 1985.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 15th at 2:00 p.m. from The Pentecostal Church in Cox’s Cove, Pastor Roy Hillier officiating. The interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the Pentecostal Church, Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home.
Lisa Hazel Hancock
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lisa Hancock announce her passing at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Monday, April 7, 2003. She was in her 32nd year, leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories Mom and Dad, Leonard and Marie Hancock; Brother Leon (Coretta), Sister Lynette (Bruce) and Niece Kristen, Grandmother Mrs. Melsie Roberts and a large circle of Aunts, Uncles, and other family members and friends.
The family received friends at the United Church in Forteau from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev. Karl Arnold officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery in Forteau.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Lance Au Loup. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted.
Myra Hickey
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Myra Hickey announce her sudden passing on Sunday, March 30, 2003 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 54 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her four children; Avellina Park, Scarborough ON, Denese (Larry) McCarthy, Benoit's Cove, marty (Jenny), Corner Brook, and Monty, Benoit's Cove; four grandchildren: Avellina, Lawrence, Danielle and Carl Martine; mother, Mrs. Laura Park, Benoit's Cove; brothers and sisters; Luella (Mike) Shaehan, Alex Park (Verna), Marina (Kevin) Hackett, Jean Hynes (Cliff), Joy Park (Dave) Angus Park and Todd Park (Della), as well as a brothers and sisters-in-law, many nices and nephews, other relatives and special friends.
She was predeceased by husband Martin, September 4, 1980, father Angus Park and sister Mary O'Connell.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 2 at 10:30 from St. Ambrose Anglican Church, John's Beach, with interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Benoit's cove, Rev. Evelyn Piercey officiating.
Alonzo Gary King
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alonzo Gary King announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 55.
He will be sadly missed by his 5 children: Patty, Gary, Tracy (Jason), Jamie, Jonathon (special friend Lindsay) and their mother Carol King, grandson Devin Seaward, brother Clyde King (Kim), nephews Justin and Casey; son-in-law Carien Seaward, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Alonza and Phoebe King.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 8, at 2 pm from All Saints Anglican Church, Clarence Street, Rev. Percy Coffin officiating, followed by interment in the Mt. Patricia Cemetery Receiving Chapel. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Ave. Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday from 10-12 noon. Wayne (Owen) Legge
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wayne Legge announce his sudden passing at his family residence in St. George's on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the age of 54.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife, Jean (Virginia); daughter, Tracy, Corner Brook; sons, Stephen, Virginia, USA, Chad, Corner Brook; grandson, Nicholas Woolridge, Stephenville Crossing; mother, Vera (Legge) Matthews; step father, Jack Matthews, both of Stephenville Crossing; mother-in-law, Jessie (Colson) Alexander of St. Georges; sister-in-laws, Mary Spicer, Ontario and Theresa Glover of Southbrook. He is predeceased by his father, Ernest O. Legge and by his sister Dale M. Legge.
Visitation will be held for friends on Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 8th at 2:00 PM from the St. George's Anglican Church in Robinsons, Rev. Stewart Bellows officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. As experessions of sympathy donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton Hutchings announce his passing Monday, April 14th, 2003 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 71 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife Grace (nee Lawrence), sons: Clayton Jr., Airdrie, AB, Ian (Tamara), Halifax, NS, and daughter Cynthia Toye (Bruce), Carstairs, AB, four grandchildren; James, Matthew, Danielle, and Zackary; brothers: Freeman (Jean), Bill (Sue), Gerald (Rita), Roy (Marie), Bruce (Louise) and Garry (Marion) Hutchings, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Mary Hutchings. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Tuesday evening from 7-9 and on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17 at 2 pm from the Humber United Church, Clarence Street, Rev. Patricia Melindy officiating. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the WMR Hospital or to the charity of one's choice.
