Joseph Redmond Tobin
Joseph Tobin passed away peacefully on September 21 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 74.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joyce. His combined family included seven daughters, Debbie Payne (Calvin), Joann Scott (Craig), Suzanne Leblanc (John), Jeanne Colbourne (Steve), Julie Sheppard (Dave), Joanne Abbott, Janice Marshall (Chris), four sons; Jim Tobin (Jane), Glen Abbott (Loretta), Chris Abbott (Marla), Curt Abbott (Ellen), and daughter-in-law Beatrice Tobin. Loving grandchildren include Jesse, Jenna, Dennis, Brian, Pamela, Adam, Kenzie, Charlotte, Jamie, Carl, Jason, Heidi, Becky, Chris, Mike, Dalton, Kenzie, Rick, Katie and Stephen Special great grandchildren include Georgi, Ruairidh, Meghan, Alex and Anna. He leaves behind as well as two sisters, Ann Smith (Ron), Alice Ewing, four brothers, George (Eliza), Fred (June), David, Nick (Mary), sister-in-law Flo Tobin and a large circle of nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe is predeceased by his first wife Marion Snooks, son Ward, brothers Vince and Ralph, parents John and Ann (Power) Tobin.
Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Saturday, September 27 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m, to pay their respects and celebrate memories. A Memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. The family guest book mil be available for signing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital or the Janeway Children's Hospital would be graciously accepted.
Gordon Tapp
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon Tapp announce his passing on Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Health Science Centre, St. John's, at the age of 75 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Diane, daughter Loretta, Comer Brook, son Ronald, Toronto, grandchildren Erica and Sheridan Kelloway, brothers; Lewis (Marie), Jack (Joan) and Wally (Barb), sisters; Ann (Harold) Abbott, Shirley (Arthur) Hull, and Eileen (George) Power, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Georgina, and parents William and Dulsie Tapp.
Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7~9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, at 2:00 p.m. from All Saints Church, Clarence Street. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Cancer Centre, Western Region.
Reginald Sheppard
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reginald Sheppard announce his passing on Monday, September 8, 2003 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 81.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years Dorothy (nee: Pennell); 2 daughters: Bernice Sheppard (David), Pauline Sheppard (Paul); 5 grandchildren: Peter (Soraya), Dennis (Barbara), Kelly Childs (Johnny), Jeannie & fiancé George Park, Dwayne & fiancé Jodi Humber; 6 great grandchildren: Branden, Cole, Ty, Kirkland, Bobbi and Nathan; sisters: Marion Fiander (Aubrey), Dartmouth, NS, Ruby Wheeler, York Harbour, Loretta (Reverend Charles Greene), St. John’s; brothers: Roland Sheppard, Lark Harbour, Ivan Sheppard (Marilyn), Dartmouth, NS, and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Leta Sheppard.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 11th at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour Canon Joyce Payne officiating, followed by the interment at the Church Cemetery. Friends may visit St. James Anglican Church Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses or St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
Clarence Sheppard
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clarence Sheppard announce his sudden passing on Sunday, September 28th, 2003 in Shallop Cove at the age of 55.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Rhonda (Jason), Andrew both of Stephenville, Shane, Cory both of Ontario. Mark (Jenny), New Brunswick and Derrick of Pettawawa, Ontario; brothers and sisters: Anita LaSaga, Toronto, Ontario, Harold White, St. Georges, Anne Marie (Ron) Sedens, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Gerald (Rose), Kevin (Theresa), Louise (Faron) Chritchley and Galvin all of Shallop Cove; one grandchild Cody; Special aunts: Marg of St:ephenville Crossing, Jean of Stephenville, as well a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, Clarence is predeceased by his parents Medrick and Elizabeth.
Friends may visit St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. St. Georges beginning on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from where the funeral mass will take place on Thursday, October 2nd at 2:00 p.m. with Father Ariel Garcia officiating.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery, Shallop Cove. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to St Joseph's Parish Memorial Fund.

Leaving to mourn his wife Maxine; seven children: Peggy Brake, Corner Brook, Kimberly King (Clyde), Meadows, Lori Wells (Reg), Port Saunders, Shelly House-Borden (Greg), Hugh’s Brook, Vicki House, Meadows, Tracy Butt (Brad), Corner Brook, Justin House, Meadows; six grandchildren: Casey, Tyler, Brittany, Lucas, Lacey and Taylor; brothers: Milton House, Elwood Tucker (Neila); sisters: Laura Kingston, Daniels Harbour, Liza Bragg (Gord), Rowena Wickens (Larry), Meadows; aunts Eliza Hynes (Leo), Cow Head, Bridgette Christopher, Meadows, uncles: Simon Tucker (Catherine), Meadows, Milton House, Ontario, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie & Stella House, son-in-law John House.
The funeral service will be held Monday, September 22nd at 2:00 p.m. from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Meadows, Reverend Sidney Payne officiating followed by the interment at the Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Saturday evening and on Sunday. N. James Goosney
Passed peacefully Away on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at the age of 54 after a brief battle with cancer.
Left to mourn are his wife Beth (Butler), his daughters: Lisa, Gander and Paula, Comer Brook; his mother Pansy, Glenburnie, Bonne Bay, his brother Brian (Myra), Glenbumie, Bonne Bay, his sister Karen (Jim) Martin, Lower Sackville, N.S., his mother-in-law Patricia Butler, Comer Brook, his sister-in-law Shirley Jung, Rochester, NY, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father Norman (2001), his brother-in-law Donald Butler (2002) and his father-in-law Bertram J. Butler (1977).
Visitation will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday 7-9 p.m., and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St.. Mary's Anglican Church in Curling on Friday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m., Reverend James Reid officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) Flynn
Passed away peacefully. Patrick (Paddy) Flynn at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Monday, September 22, 2003 at the age of 88.
A long time fisherman and woodsman he will be sadly missed by his wife Madeline (White) of 63 years; Mary, Pat, Nicholl and little Nicholas; brother Roderick (Susan), West Bay; sister Nora (AI) Marchman, Georgia; Aunt Tessie (Nicholas) Flynn, West Bay as well a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret (Gale) Flynn; brothers: Matthew, Jack, Gus, Aloysiu5, Mike. Hillary, Ramie and by his sister Margaret.
Visitation will begin for friends at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Lourdes on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday 2 - 9 p.m. from where the funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 26th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ed Terry officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery, Tea Cove Road, West Bay. As expressions of sympathy no flowers by request. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Lushman of Ramea announce his sudden passing at the Calder Memorial Hospital in Burgeo, on Friday, October 9th, 2009, at the age of 64 years. Michael was predeceased by his father Fred and his brothers Fred and Frank. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Frances; children: Darrell, Caledon, ON, Dale (Cyndi), Lower Sackville, NS, Lori Cutler (Jason), Dartmouth, NS, and Lorna Green (Lonnie), Ramea; grandchildren: Summer, Alliyah, Jayden and Ocean; mother Alice, Grey River; brother Gord, Guelph, ON; sisters: Betty Young, Guelph, ON, Marie Rose (Gerald) and Debbie Lushman (Tom), Grey River, and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral Services took place at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Ramea on Monday, October 12th at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Maryrose Colbourne. Interment followed at the Church Cemetery.
