JOYCE EUNICE SUTTON

Sutton, Joyce Eunice (nee Bartlett) passed peacefully away with her family by her side on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at age 70. Predeceased by her father David Beatty Bartlett and infant sisters Phyllis and Lorena Bartlett. Leaving to mourn her mother Sophia Bartlett (long time friend Jack McCarthy), daughter Vikki Harris-Anstey (Bob Nugent), son David Harris (Ruth Warner), grandchildren Gavin Anstey, Christina Anstey (Robin Stoyles) and their father Gary Anstey. Also leaving to mourn Lloyd Sutton and many friends and relatives. Visitation will take place Monday, August 24 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, and Tuesday, August 25, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Avenue with cremation to follow. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, from First United Church on Park Street, Corner Brook at 11:00 am, Marilyn Avery officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre.

Rosanna (Rose) Wellman
November 3, 1918 - August 21, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of Rose (Gillette) Wellman announce her passing on Friday, August 21, at the age of 90. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her sons Terry (Mereda) and Larry (Linda); her grandchildren Monte, Andrea, Jennifer, Heather and Christopher; her eight great-grandchildren; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends. Rose was pre-deceased by her husband Lloyd Wellman in 1985, infant son Monte, her parents John and Minnie Gillette; as well as her brothers William (Will), infant Frank, Chesley, George, Jack, and Roy, and her sisters Anita (Nete), Alma, Jessie, Florence (Flo), and Clarice. Rose was born, raised and lived her life in Humbermouth on Corner Brook’s east side. Throughout her life, Rose gave unselfishly of her time to several volunteer organizations. Among these were the Humber United Church Ladies Auxiliary, the Interfaith Home for Senior Citizens, and the Dr. J. I. O’Connell Centre. Rose was a long time member of the Echo Seniors Club, and dearly loved a good game of cards. She also took tremendous pleasure in her beautiful garden over the years, and was an inspiration in this regard to her special niece and dear friend Ina. Rose loved spending time with family and friends at Gildor Cabin on George’s Lake. She had a wonderful sense of humour, and could often be counted on to regale company with stories that left one and all in tears of laughter. Her wit, ready smile, and care and concern for others will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Western Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and compassion over the last few months of Rose’s hospitalization. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday August 23 and Monday August 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Humber United Church on Clarence Street on Tuesday, August 25 at 2:00 pm, interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in Rose’s honour can be made to the Western Memorial Hospital Foundation.

REGINA KENDELL (Nee Wheeler)
November 7th, 1929 - August 19th, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Regina Kendell announce her passing on Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 79 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Rose (Art) Matthews; 3 sons: Albert (Hilda), Wayne (Linda) and Kevin (Jean); 7 grandchildren: Rachel, Rob (Renee), Julie, Brad, Ian, Kerri-Lee and Nikki (Dennis); 6 great-grandchildren: Samantha, Kris, Sarah, Riley, Matthew and Kailey; sister Augusta Ruth, brother Frank Wheeler, sisters-in-law: Pearl Childs and Charlotte Sheppard; brother-in-law Arch (Lois) Kendell. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband James Kendell, October 1999, grandson Christopher, parents John and Myra Wheeler, a sister and 5 brothers. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Friday from the hours of 7-9 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday 7-9 PM at St. James’ Anglican Church in Lark Harbour from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 23rd at 2:00 PM with Rev. Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or to a Charity of One’s Choice.

PHYLLIS D.S. MORGAN
August 17, 1943 … August 17, 2009

McIVERS, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Phyllis Morgan announce her sudden passing at her residence on Monday, August 17, 2009 at the age of 66 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Craig (Greta), Kitchener, ON, Pansy (Spencer) Lawrence, Wabush, Lab, and John (Barbara), McIvers; five precious grandchildren: Danny, Robyn, Susy, Adrian and Carlee; sisters: Rosie Lovell and Veda White (George); brother: Kevin Morgan (Verna); sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Morgan and Margaret Morgan; brother-in-law: Hubert Lovell; all residing in McIvers; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Oliver Parsons; sister: Hilda Lovell; brothers: John, Stephen and Cyril Morgan; sister-in-law: Rowena Morgan; brother-in-law: Esau Lovell; parents: Gilbert and Josephine Morgan. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday, 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21st at 2:00 p.m. from the Anglican Church of the Epiphany, McIvers, Reverend Malcolm Palmer officiating. Followed by interment at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Susan Sheppard
1922-2009

Passed peacefully away on Monday August 17th, 2009 at the Interfaith Home, Corner Brook, SUSAN SHEPPARD at the age of 87 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her 3 sons: Eric (Kathleen), York Harbour, Daniel (Effie), York Harbour, Roy, Whitbourne; grandchildren: Peggy (John), Cecila, Cynthia (Scott), Ada (Ian), Daniel, Alice (Sean), Kitchener (Sherri-Lynn), Janine, Craig; great grandchildren: Erica, Alyssa, Jennifer, Andrew, Sabrina, Riley, as well as a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Kitchener Sheppard, son Roy Harvey Sheppard, Daughter-in-law Roselyn, parents Daniel & Mary Lock; brothers: twin brother Ishmael, Archibald, and Arthur, sisters: Blanche, Edith, Edna and Bertha. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7-9 p.m., Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour followed by the funeral service Friday, August 21st at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating, with the interment at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

BINGLE, Eli William
December 7th 1919 – November 22nd 2009

Deer Lake, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eli Bingle announce his passing on Sunday, November 22nd 2009 at his family residence in Deer Lake at the age of 89. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Woodrow (Judy) Bingle, Eugene (Joy) Bingle, Sylvia Bingle, Elmo (Sandra) Bingle, grandchildren: Kurt (Sheila), Kirsty (David) Collins, Jamie (Kelly), Jill (Andrew) Stephens, Heather Bingle, Joshua Bingle, great-grandchildren: Aliyah, Aaron, Jordyn, Zoe, Adrian, Ashlyn, Aidan, sister Vera (Owen) Legge, sister-in-law Hilda Bingle, special friend Fanny Whalen and life long friend Wallace Ball and his family from the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Deer Lake, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his wife Marjorie, parents James and Blanche Bingle and brother Henry. Friends may visit Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Deer Lake on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 25th at 2 PM with Pastor Peter Grimes officiating. Interment to follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Pentecostal Church Building Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake.

REID, Shirley Maxine (nee Murley)
1939 – 2009

Corner Brook, NL - It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Shirley Maxine Reid announces her passing at Western Memorial Hospital, 22 November 2009 at the age of 69 years. She will be mourned and forever missed by husband Max, children: Glenn (Kathy), Hammonds Plains, NS, Donna Ronayne (Patrick), Shoal Harbour, NL, Sean (Denise) Trenton, ON, 4 grandchildren: Jonathan, Heidi, Jacob, & Megan, brothers: Lorne Murley (Beulah), Clarence Murley, Alex Murley (Rickie), Elwin Murley, stepmother Onea Murley, sisters-in-law Mona Joseph (Leo), Shirley Fudge (Jack), Muriel Hinkle (Bob), Truro, NS and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents Henry and Elizabeth Murley, mother and father-in-law Beatrice and Edward Reid, sister Renee Mitchell, brother-in-law Leslie Mitchell and sisters-in-law Rebecca Murley and Doris Reid. Among countless wonderful qualities, Shirley will be remembered for her absolute love and support of all friends, family, and relatives, as well as a contagious laugh and wicked sense of humor. Visitations will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Monday from 2-4 pm and from 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 24 November at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s & All Angels Anglican Church, Park Dr. Rev. Canon Gordon Druggett officiating followed by cremation at Humber Valley Crematorium, Pasadena. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be graciously accepted, or donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital.

Amy Isabel BLANCHARD

Parson’s Pond, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Amy Blanchard announce her passing on Monday, November 23rd, 2009 at the Interfaith Home for Seniors, Corner Brook at the age of 88 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Hedley (Lorraine), Winston and Edgar, Parson’s Pond, Clifford, Brampton, ON, Geraldine Gagne, Bishop Falls, Susie Andrews (Lewis), Corner Brook and Leah Biggin (Bruce), Daniel’s Harbour; 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; daughters-in-law: Florence and Irene Blanchard; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Roland; sons: Stanley and Garrett; daughter-in-law: Olive and son-in-law: Albert Gagne. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Nursing staff from the Interfaith home who showed such care and compassion towards their Mom. Visitation will take place from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Parson’s Pond beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 26th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Jean Brinston Hickman officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
