Steady Brook, NL - Surrounded by his loving family, Cobe passed peacefully away at his residence in Steady Brook on Friday, November 20th, 2009. He is survived by his wife Peggy (nee Gillingham) of sixty one wonderful years; one son: Taylor (Carolyn), Corner Brook and a daughter, Donna (Keith) Byrne, Steady Brook; seven special grandchildren: Kelly (Willie), Brian (Jeni), Sandra (Craig), Michelle (Andrew), Janice (Kieran), Scott (Emily), and Glenn (Jennifer); in addition he has been enormously blessed with 12 great grandchildren: Taylor, Liam, Benjamin, Reed, Regan, Chase, Remy, Maida, Lola, Izzie, Kiefer and Jayden; brothers: Roger (Kit), George (Mary) and Ted (Carolyn); sisters: Nellie Brake, Joan (Don) Davis, Betty Cotter and Ruth (Darryl) Cook; brother-in-law: Gilbert Ernest, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Allen and Elizabeth Colbourne; brothers: Reg and Bob; sister-in-law: Bonnie Ernest and brother-in-law: Laudrick Gillingham. A WWll Veteran, Cobe served overseas with Hasting & Prince Edward Regiment and saw action in North Africa, Italy, France and Holland. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He thoroughly enjoyed people whether it was on his own time or helping them during his work with Service Canada and later as a Service Officer with the Royal Canadian Legion. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Saturday and Sunday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place from The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street on Monday, November 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Gordon Druggett officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation, the CNIB, the Children’s Wish Foundation or to the charity of one's choice. Please join with his family at the Royal Canadian Legion following the service for a reception in his honour.

Cormack, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winnifred Tulk announce her passing on Wednesday November 18th 2009 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 90. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Ruby Tulloch, Penticton B.C, grandchildren: David and Stephen both of Penticton B.C and Stephanie of Barrie Ontario, great grandchildren: Chantell, Christopher, Chelsea, Lachlin, great great granddaughter Cassidy, sister Pearl Wells, and sisters in law Olive (Selby) Pennell and Elsie Tulk, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends by whom she was dearly loved. She was predeceased by her husband Dorman and son Winston. Friends may visit Fillatres Funeral Home 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM from where the funeral will take place on Tuesday November 24th at 2 PM with Klinton Jacques officiating. WOODY POINT, BONNE BAY, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Chesley Taylor announce his passing on Friday, November 11th, 2005 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 70 years, Linda (nee Tuff), Woody Point; daughters: Rowena Wight (Tate), Shoal Brook, Bonne Bay, Ruby Locke (Gene), Corner Brook and Isabel Simms, Corner Brook; son: Kevin Taylor (Jane), Rocky Harbour; eight grandchildren: Marilyn Wight, Lexie Specker (Jeff), Tate Wight Jr. (Alish), Peter Wight (Jeannie), Vikki Bennett (Paul), Linda Chadderton (Anthony), Glen Simms (SherraLee)and David Taylor; 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Ivy Butt, as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by sisters: Gertie, Diadam and Violet; brothers: Norman and Samson; and son-in-law Walter Simms. Friends visited St. Andrews United Church, Woody Point on Sunday from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Tony Newell officiating. RAMEA, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Mary Florence Keeping (nee: Hardy) announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the age of 80 years. She leaves to mourn with many treasured memories her children: Ida (Rodney) Chaffey, Barbara (Jack) Cossar, Ira (Phyllis) Keeping, Ivan (Kay) Keeping, Marshall (Gertie) Keeping, Herma (Doug) Young, Selma (Lenny) Styles; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother Leslie Hardy as well as other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Reginald; parents John and Elsie Hardy; infant son Reginald; brothers: Cecil and Simeon; sisters Caroline and Dorothy. Visitation will take place from St. Boniface Anglican Church, Ramea on Thursday beginning at 7:00 p.m. from where the Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Maryrose Colbourne officiating. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Anglican Cemetery in Ramea. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted.

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clarence “Junior” Squires announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Monday, November 16th, 2009 at the age of 63 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, sisters: Christine Maddigan (John), Corner Brook, Bonnie Squires, Corner Brook; nieces and nephews: Gary (Christine) Maddigan, Barry (Louise) Maddigan, Donna (Terry) Skiffington, Rod (Sandra) Maddigan, Jonathan and Justin Dunne; great nieces and nephews: Heather and Holly Maddigan, Robert Skiffington, Jennifer and Peter Maddigan, as well as brothers & sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley (February 9th, 2009); parents Edmund and Clara Squires. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium, Pasadena. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, Majors Robert and Cassie Kean officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Parson’s Pond, NL - Passed peacefully away on Saturday, November 14th, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Gordon Decker at the age of 86 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Elwin (Shirley), London, ON, Ted, Corner Brook and Mona Decker (Barry), Fort McMurray, AB; step-children: Graham Payne (Rhoda), Parson’s Pond and Madeline Wells (Lloyd), Irishtown; 22 grandchildren, including special granddaughter Paula Decker; 30 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sister: Eva Bannister; brothers: Leonard Decker and Cyril Decker (Phyllis); sister-in-law: Mona Little and brother-in-law: Amos Payne; as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Dulcie Decker, March 9th, 2009; parents: John and Charlotte Decker; brother: Llewellyn Decker and sister Beulah Payne; mother-in-law: Susie Payne; brothers and sisters-in-law: Florence Decker, Jack Bannister, Guy Payne, Mike, George and Jack Hewlin, and Rhoda Hewlin; daughter-in-law: Carolyn Decker. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Parson’s Pond beginning Sunday evening from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, November 16th at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Predeceased by his brother Charlie; brothers-in-law: Russell Beaton, George Fiander, Ken Reid, Charlie Reid, Wilfred Thomas and Ross Smith; and parents Josiah and Rachel Kendell.
