It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Lou Antle announce her passing on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 at Gillams at the age of 47 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Melissa (Darryl) Clarke and grandson Ethan, Fort McMurray; special friend Lee, Gillams; mother Eva Antle, Pasadena; sisters: Patsy (Brian) Evans, Pasadena, Sharon (Max) Peddle, Fort McMurray, Debbie (Craig) Wells, Fort McMurray, Doreen (Marc) Gallant, Ontario and Barb (Pius), Pasadena; brothers: Shawn Antle, Glen (Shelly) Antle and David Antle all of Pasadena; sister-in-law Betty Lou Antle, Ontario; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Alexander Antle, brothers Anthony “Tony” and Larry Antle, sister-in-law Cindy Antle. Friends may visit Holy Rosary Parish, Pasadena on Thursday 7-9 PM from where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 25th at 2:00 PM with Father Gordon Grace officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook.
Walter Rodney STONE
May 28, 1932 - September 29, 2009
Fox Roost, NL - Passed away at his home in Fox Roost on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009, Walter Stone, at the age of 77 years. Born at West Point, he was the son of the late Joseph and Hettie (nee McDonald) Stone. He was also predeceased by his brother Wesley. He leaves to mourn his family, sister Ada Stone, Port Aux Basques and brother Cecil (Annie) Stone, Diamond Cove, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will take place on Wednesday and Thursday at St. Augustine’s Church in Fox Roost-Margaree, from where the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 2nd at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Duncan Granter. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques.
Blandford Howard Cluett Parsons
September 26, 1947 - September 27, 2009
McIver’s, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Blandford Parsons announce his passing on Sunday, September 27th, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 62 years. Blandford was employed with Lafarge Gypsum Plant for 29 years and a volunteer firefighter with the McIver’s Fire Department for 24 years. He leaves behind his special wife, friend and companion of 38 years, Bernice; daughter: Krista (Jonathan) Ricketts, McIver’s; son: Nelson (Amanda), Gillams; three granddaughters: Amber, Hannah and Sydney; special pet, Sandy; two sisters: Rhoda (Edgar) Twyne, McIver’s, and Judy (Clarence) Park, Cox’s Cove; three brothers: Lawrence (Eileen), Melvin (Rowena) and Wade (Pauline), all residing in McIver’s; aunt Jean Payne, Cox’s Cove; mother and father-in-law: Gordon and Matilda Spracklin, Brigus; special friends: Paul Gillingham and Donna Brown, NB, Eric and Tracey White, McIver’s and Gerald and Rena MacDonald, Corner Brook; three brothers-in-law: Melvin (Evelyn) Spracklin, Brigus, Wayne (Monica) Spracklin, Regina, SK, Eugene Spackling, Dartmouth, NS; and a large number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Annie Parsons; sisters: Cedella Furneaugh and Marie Payne; sister-in-law: Doreen Parsons; brother-in-law: Emmanuel Twyne; nephews: Myrden Twyne and Calvin Payne. Visitation will be take place on Tuesday, 7-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. from the Anglican Church of the Epiphany, McIver’s, followed by the funeral service on Thursday, October 1st, at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Joan Coles and Reverend Malcolm Palmer officiating. William (Bill) John Hickey
October 21, 1949 – September 24, 2009
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bill Hickey of Halfway Point announce his sudden passing after a courageous battle with cancer on September 24, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 35 years Maureen (Donahue), sons Keith (Tammy) Benoit’s Cove, and Jason of Halfway Point. Special Family members Scott (Janice) Pennell and Daughter Kelsey of Corner Brook. Special family friend Cory Gillard who was like a son to him. Special dog Buddie who spent many days and evenings with ‘Pop’ and keeping him company. Bill also leaves to mourn his mother Clara Hickey, Benoit’s Cove and a number of brothers and sisters, Lester (Loretta), Halfway Point, Hilda (Tony) Donahue, Halfway Point, Rose (Pat) O’Connell, Halfway Point, Lloyd (Grace), Mount Moriah, Howard, Benoit’s Cove, Philomena (Ross) Abbott, Johns Beach, Chris (Connie), Alberta, Brian, Benoit’s Cove, Clayton (Della), Benoit’s Cove, Carolyn (Blair) Lodge, Ontario, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Bill also leaves to mourn Mother and Father in law Kevin and Mary Donahue, brother-in-law Terry Donahue ( Debbie), Phonse Donahue (Willomena), sister in law Angela (Rick) Cabot, and Rose Marie (Alfred) Ford.He was predeceased by his father William Hickey and brother Cyril. Also leaving to mourn a special group of men, his coworkers in which he spent many long hours with aboard the MV Gemini II. Bill had a spice for life and kept busy at all times, whether it be fishing in which he made a living at, or spending time at his cabin in Spruce Brook, his pride and joy. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He had a lot of close friends who cared greatly for him, and made his day by dropping by for a chat, giving him a call or going for a coffee with him. He had a loving personality and a way to make anyone chuckle. He definitely will not be forgotten, and will be deeply missed. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, 218 Curling Street on Saturday 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m, from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 27th at 2:30 p.m., followed by interment at Mt Patricia cemetery. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Albert Hillier announce his passing on Monday, September 14th, 2009 at the age of 69 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Rose Hillier; children: Jeff (Stephanie), and their children Katrina, Ivan, Kye, Kendra; Greg (Misty), and their children Amber, Thomas, Joshua, and youngest son Brad; one great grand son Corlito, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
