Corner Brook, NL - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009, George Coleman at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his family: nephew: James “Jim” and his wife Marilyn, Corner Brook; grandnephew: David, Corner Brook; sisters: Marilyn Bennett (Paul), Ontario, Rita Tackett, Kentucky and Florence Turner, Nevada; caregiver: Ivan Bennett, Corner Brook, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Jane Coleman; sisters:Catherine, Anna, Sarah, Mary and Ruth; brother: William; brothers-in-law: Henry Tackett and Thomas Turner. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 10:30 A.M. from All Hallows Parish, Humber Road, with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. The interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to the Bay of Islands SPCA or to the charity of one's choice.

Doyles, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis Gale announce his passing at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at the age of 69 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories: his loving wife Mamie (Mary H.) Gale; daughter: Corinne Samms (husband Carl, their children Carla and Ryan), son: Glen (wife Laurie and their daughter Marissa); predeceased by daughter Diana Downey (May 1997), (survived by her husband Bernard and their son Trevor); his mother: Mary Catherine Gale; brothers: Kevin Gale (Joan, Scott, Courtney), Melvin Gale (Colleen, Stephanie, Melanie and Adam), and Brian Gale (Lorna, Jeffrey, Megan and Mark); sisters-in-law: Marg Chaisson of Corner Brook (Dan, Linda, Tony, Anne, Bill, Walter and families), Agnes and Hubert Walters of The Codroy Valley (Paul, Patsi, Jessica, Jeffrey and Jason), The Porter Family (Debbie, Harold, Stephen, Keith, Susan, and Lisa), The O’ Quinn Families (Steve, Mike, Pat, Leo, Ann, Alex and Paul), along with a large circle of other relatives and friends. Following cremation at Humber Valley Crematorium in Pasadena, a Memorial Service will take place from St. Ann’s Church in Codroy on Friday, August 28th at 1:00 pm, interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Great Codroy. John A. (Jack) Murrin
1925-2009
Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Interfaith Home, Corner Brook John A. Murrin at the age of 83 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his five children: William Murrin, Jean Snooks (Austin), Joan Jennix (Blair), Gordon Murrin, Raymond Murrin (Mia); 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters & brothers: Ivan, Neil, Gerald, Sydney, Florence and Mae; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by wife Hazel, July 20, 2006, 2 sons Harold & Alexander, sister Mary. Visitation will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour Thursday from 7-9 p.m., Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. followed by the funeral service Saturday August 22nd, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating with the interment at the church cemetery. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his two sons: Gerald (Carol-Ann), Pasadena, and Sean (Wanda), Curling; grandchildren: Lisa (Frank) Molloy, St. John’s, Gerry (Trina) Noble, White Horse, Yukon, Tonya (Jason) Munns, Okanagan Falls, BC, Darlene (Matt) Jones, Gander and Cherie (Lathan) Murdock, Hudson, Wisconsin; great grandchildren: Riley, Laura, Easton, Marcus, Kirsten, Joshua, Zechariah and Eliana; sisters: Bride Pretty (Harold), Corner Brook and Betty Martin (Weldon), Fort McMurray, AB; sister-in-law: Marjorie Noble, Corner Brook; friend, Lillian Hillier, Deer Lake, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura, February, 1990 and brothers, Bruce and Frank. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18th at 11:00 A.M. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Mt. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 44 years David, daughters: Betty Best (Melcolm Smith), Cox’s Cove, Jenny (Brent) Payne, McIver’s, Tammy (Darren) Park, Cox’s Cove and Lori (Eugene) Brown, Arnprior, Ontario; grandchildren: Shelley Best, Robert Park, Marvin Park, Robin Brown, Tia Brown, Kyle Brown, Aamirah Brown and Brandon Park; great-grandchildren: Damian McLeod and Jacqueline Park; sisters: Geraldine (Walter) Cox, Lillian (Ralph) Abbott and Julia Osbourne all of Cox’s Cove. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Norman and Annie Park, grandson Jamie Park, sisters Jean, Mildred and Gloria Park, brothers Utley, Raymond and Alfred Park.
