Freeman Bolt Meadows
October 22, 1927 … October 4, 2009

(Formerly of Tack’s Beach, Placentia Bay) - It is with the deepest sadness and regret that the family of the late Freeman Bolt announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 4th in his 82nd year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Lena (nee Brake), his devoted daughter Judy(Roger Wight), and the light of his life, precious granddaughter Emily. He is survived by his sister, Mollie Snow, Nova Scotia, his two brothers Clarence, Arnold’s Cove and Charlie, Burin, brother-in-law Chesley Brake (Sylvia), Meadows, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John Henry and Ethel Bolt; father and mother-in-law Thomas and Isabella Brake; sisters: Maisie Gilbert, Jessie Noseworthy, and Elsie Brown; brothers: Frank and Clifton; brothers and sisters-in-law: Herbert Gilbert, Claude Snow, Beatrice Bolt, Alice Bolt, Bessie Bolt, Ethel and Arthur Blanchard, and Harvey and Inez Brake. The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Ave. on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM and at Holy Trinity Church, Meadows, on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th at 2:00PM. Reverend Malcolm Palmer officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church.

WADE, Margaret Rose

Our hearts are truly broken. On September 26th, 2009 at 55 years of age Margaret went back home to God. In His infinite wisdom He had entrusted His special child to her beloved and devoted mother, Theresa, and to her loving family: Debbie (Wade), Gary, Matthew and Beth Murley of Corner Brook; John, Heidi (White) and Ava Wade of Lloydminster, AB; Geraldine (Wade), Larry, Aaron and Adam Keating and Ed Wade all of Markham, ON; Joan (Kennedy), Hilary and Marty Flaherty of Toronto, ON; Jackie (Flaherty), T.J., Tyler and Victoria Woodford of Edmonton, AB; Hillary Flaherty and Erik Vogel of French Village, NB.
Cherishing memories of Margaret Rose is a large circle of close, extended family, especially Ned and Pauline Kennedy and their family of Pennsylvania and California, USA. As well as Ann Kennedy and Bill and Dot Wade of ON; Betty and John T. Kennedy of NL and their families, and Laura Wilkinson of NL. She had some very special friends too, including Baba and Ha-vee Warren, ‘Nan and Pop’ Murley (Bee-u-la and Lorne), clients and staff at the V.O.N. and her fellow Special Olympians.
Margaret was predeceased by her sister and brother, Mary and Michael Wade; her father, Frank; her grandparents Martin and Frances Kennedy and P.J. and Frances Wade; as well as a number of aunts and uncles who were joyously waiting for her in heaven: Martin and John Kennedy, Mary and Bill Woodford, Mary and Michael Dunphy, Barbara Healey and Kevin Wade.
Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, September 27th and 28th. The funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, September 29th at 10:30 a.m. at All Hallow’s Church. Interment will follow on Wednesday, September 30th at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Margaret’s honour to the V.O.N. Adult Day Centre, 31 Wellington Street, Corner Brook.

Minnie Winnifred Hulan
1917-2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Minnie Winifred Hulan (nee: Billard) of the Acadian Village, Stephenville, formally of St. David’s announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the age of 91 years. Leaving to mourn with many loving memories her children: Godfrey (Josse Leduc), Shirley (Duncan Kippen), Miriam (Roy) House, Sheila (Edward) Gosse, Zona (Fred) Pike, Michael (Alice Cicerella); 14 grandchildren; 22 ½ great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Edith Coffin and Irean Billard as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred 18 years ago; parents William and Susanna Billard; stepmother Nettie; brothers Fred and Bill; father and mother-in-law Joseph and Frances Hulan and special friend Churchill Parsons. Minnie was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her contributions to community activities including ACW and 4-H Club. Her ability to see a funny side of any serious situation brought smiles to all. Her card playing friends at the Acadian Village will miss her call of “game out”. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in St. David’s from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon Dave Pearce officiating. Interment will follow in the Anglican Cemetery, St. David’s. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.

MARY CATHERINE HALL
SEPTEMBER 10, 1916 … SEPTEMBER 21, 2009

MILLVILLE, CAPLIN COVE, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Mary Catherine Hall announce her passing on Monday, September 21, 2009 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn her sister Melita Murphy Gillis as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Emma Hall; brothers: Richard and Theodore Hall; sisters: Pauline Mullen, Katherine McNeil and Veronica DuBourdieu. Visitation will take place from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Codroy on Wednesday beginning at 7:30 p.m. from where the Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment will take place following the Mass in the Mount St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery, Codroy. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Newfoundland and Labrador. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing and Port aux Basques.

Margaret Hancock
1925-2009

Forteau, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Hancock announce her passing at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Friday, August 7th, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her children Edward (Dale), Gladys Thomas (Sam - deceased), Donald (Jocelyn), Cynthia Hancock (Russell), Robert (Sarah), Richmond (Donna), Bette Wellman (Ward); 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and grandson Ian Wellman. Visitors were received at the United Church in Forteau on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from where the funeral took place on Friday, August 11th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dean Sellers officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery in Forteau. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

ORELIA CAROLINE PAYNE
September 17th 1928 – September 17th 2009

Parsons Pond - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Orelia Payne announce her passing at The Health Science Center in St Johns on Thursday, September 17th, 2009 at the age of 81 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Rendell, sons: Brian (Carmencita), Timmons, ON, Morley (Karen), Paradise, Brent (Cindy), Torbay, grandchildren: Shane, Dylan, Vincent, Matthew, great-grandchildren: Samantha, Dakota, brothers: Rufus, Frank (Thelma), Eugene, Percy (Mariette), brother in law Ira, sister in law Irene Hutchings, special caretaker Grace Decker, friend Annie May Reid and her many friends at St Peters ACW as well as a large circle of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Winnie Hutchings brothers: Ralph and Malcolm, sisters in law: Minnie, Rita and Effie and mother and father in law Elizabeth (Cookie) and Emmanuel Payne. Visitation will take place from St Peters Anglican Church, Parsons Pond on Saturday and Sunday, from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Jean Brenton - Hickman officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake.

Sarah Dodge
Oct. 19, 1927 - Sept. 16, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sarah Dodge announce her passing at Dr. Charles LeGrow Hospital in Port Aux Basques on Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories, daughters: Doreen (Bruce) Burton, Port Aux Basques, Shirley Oke, Midland, ON; son Reginald (Marie) Belbin Jr., Sutton, ON; 5 grandchildren: Corey (Jannatta), Amanda (Trevor), Paula (Marty), Martin (Jennifer), and Amy (Robert); great-grandchildren: Coady, Ava, Gavin, and Harmony; sister Rebecca (Leo) Dodge, Stephenville; brother Jordon (Meta) Dodge, St. John’s, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Reginald Belbin Sr.; parents Thomas and Lillian (nee Baker) Dodge; sister Daisy (Wilson) Dodge, and brother Samuel Thomas Dodge (Lucy). Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Port Aux Basques on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m and Saturday from 10-12 noon. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Grand Bay on Saturday, September 19th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

Bessie Woodward
Feb. 4, 1923 - Sept. 12, 2009

Happy Valley Goose Bay - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bessie Woodward announce her passing on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 at the Labrador Health Centre at the age of 86 years. She will be sadly missed by her children: Winnie (Aaron) Pittman, Hazel (Henry) Brown, Donald (Jean) Woodward, Betty Adey, Lillian (Whitfield) Elliott, Violet (Everett) Cull, Phyllis Woodward, Wallace Woodward, Joy (Paul) Atkinson, and Cyril (Jackie) Woodward, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by Gerald Adey; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may visit the Anglican Church in Boat Harbour on Monday, September 14th, from where the Funeral Service will take place. Funeral time to be announced later. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted.
