Woodville, NL - Vera Patricia kendell (nee Fiander), Woodville, age 79, passed peacefully away November 16, 2009 at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Center, Port Aux Basques with her children by her side. Born October 1, 1930 to the late Isaac and Ethel Fiander. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 2003; infant daughter at birth; brothers: George, Jack and Vincent; sisters: Dorothy, Ruth and Elizabeth. Mom will forever be remembered by daughters: Judy (Gerry), Millville, NL, Nancy (Bob) Brooks, AB, Bonnie (Trent) Lakeside, NS; sons: Charlie Jr. (Judy), New Glasgow, NS, Dennis (Maureen) St. John’s, NL, Donald (Pearl) Lower Sackville, NS; grandchildren: Kris (Lucie), Kirk, Emily, Shawna, Rachel, Jennifer, Nathan and Lauren; great-grandchild Julia; brother Ralph (Marion) Woodville; sisters: Hilda, Port Aux Basques and Marie (Jack) Woodville; sisters-in-law: Rita, Gladys, Kay, Nora, Addie, Muriel (Alex) Port Aux Basques; brothers-in-law Eric (Irene) and Ira, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, many friends with special mention of her dear friend Geraldine. She was very active in her church as well as the ACW, also a member of the Oceanview Seniors Club, enjoyed knitting, darts, and bingo. She was gifted with a great memory, which was evident in her storytelling. Friends may visit Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, from where the Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, November 19th at 2:00 p.m., Reverend Boote officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted.

DAVID’S, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roland John Morris of St. David’s announce his passing at his family residence in St. David’s on Monday, November 16th at the age of 66 years. He leaves to mourn with many precious memories his wife Mabel; daughters: Kerry Lee (Emanuel Cormier), Jasper, AB, Wendy (Kirk Hillier), Wolfville, NS, Stephanie (Kent), Amherst, NS; son Harvey (Amanda), Edmonton, AB; brothers: Aubrey, St. David’s, Ronald (Cathy), Curling, NL; nieces and nephews: Peter, Jeffrey, Claudette, Nakita as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Augustus and Harriett Morris. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday beginning at 4:00 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in St. David’s from where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon David Pearce officiating. Interment will follow in the Anglican Cemetery, St. David’s. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her special daughter: Michelle McLeod (Todd); special grandchildren: Joshua and Jessica; brothers: Jim Frampton (Faye), Fred Frampton, Lloyd Frampton (Vi), Raymond Frampton (Betty); sisters-in-law: Mabel (Alphonse) Aucoin and Dorothy Murley; special niece: Joan Tooke and special nephew Rod Mitchell; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Joshua Bennett, 1987; sisters: Mary Jane Maroun, Catherine Mitchell and Emma O’Connell; brothers: Ronald Frampton and his wife Anne, and Michael Frampton; sister-in-law: Myrtle Bennett; parents Joseph and Mary Frampton. Corner Brook, NL - It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of the late Philomena Butt (nee McCarthy) announce her peaceful passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 14th, 2009 with her family at her side. She fulfilled the active role of both mother and father, with faith, love, courage and determination, since the tragic passing of her husband, Nelson in 1957. She leaves to mourn with loving and wonderful memories her children: Gary (Patsy), Paulette Tobin, Keiren (Hazel), with whom she resided, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren, the pride of her life, Annette Butt (Cory), Natasha Butt (Calvin), Nelson Tobin (Brandy), Fort McMurray, Alberta, Christopher Tobin, Tara Tobin, Kayla Tobin, Gerard Butt, Heather Sweetapple and Cassidy Strickland. Also left to mourn are her brothers Norbert McCarthy (Dale), Jack McCarthy (Elaine), of Wabush, sister, Eileen Campbell, brother-in-law: Kenneth Brinston (Pat) of Labrador City, Raymond Butt, Gordon Butt, sisters-in-law: Loretta McCarthy, Louise McCarthy, Marion Butt, as well as Helen Butt, whom she loved as a daughter, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his wife Eva.
