Juanita Barbara Perry

Hawke’s Bay, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Juanita Perry announce her passing on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 54 years. Leaving to mourn her husband Derek; son Brent (Wavey) Hawke’s Bay, Rhonda (Willy) Wembley, Alberta; grandchildren: Angelina, Austin, Jordan; mother Hepsey House; brother Dan (Barbara) of Port Saunders, Clan (Brenda), Cow Head, Craig & Lisa; mother-in-law Edna Perry, Hawkes Bay, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; She was predeceased by her father Isaac House and father-in-law John Perry. The family will be receiving friends from Holy Innocents Anglican Church in Hawke’s Bay from where the Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 7th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Hubert Vallis officiating, with interment to follow at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.

Charlie Chaulk

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charlie Chaulk announce his passing on Wednesday, November 4th at the Labrador Health Centre at the age of 89 years. He will be sadly missed by his children: Gail (Wayne), Christine (Bill), Ann (Wayne), Debbie (Sam), Sharron (Mark), Alfred (Paula), Jimmy, Charleen (Eddy), Brenda (Jack), Darrell (Lorraine); 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Beulah; daughter-in-law Joanne Head; granddaughter Lisa; grandson Corey; mother Delilah; father Charles Dalton; brother Albert and sister Jessie-Maude. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, Happy Valley Goose Bay on Friday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at the Pentecostal Church on Saturday, November 7th at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the United Cemetery.

HEBER THOMAS ROSE
JUNE 25, 1925 … NOVEMBER 4, 2009

STEPHENVILLE CROSSING, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Heber Thomas Rose announce his passing on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center, Stephenville Crossing at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn with many precious memories his wife Elizabeth (nee: Bourgeois); sons: Adolph (Millicent Kelloway), Heber Jr. (Fay Lee), Raymond (Cindy); daughters: Laura Baker, Cora Alexander, Marilyn (Gerard) Blanchard, Heather (Gerry Cormier), Marion Rose, Elizabeth Rose, Shirley (Brian Foley); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-brother John Rose; step-sister Marie Rose as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Laura Rose; son Rudy; daughter Phyllis and brother Clarence. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing of Friday from 2 … 4 and 7 … 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from Assumption Parish in Stephenville Crossing with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will following at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brook St. Stephenville Crossing. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society

Charlotte L. Gear
1922-2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charlotte Gear announce her passing on Monday, November 2nd, 2009 at the Labrador Health Centre at the age of 87 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband Norman; children: Roland (Kate), Frank (Judy), Hilda (Bill), Ethel, John (Beatrice) and Phyllis (Darren); 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and frineds. She was predeceased by her father Ben Dyson; mother Elizabeth Clark; brother Michael Dyson; brothers: Ruben Dyson and John Thomas Dyson. Friends may visit the Moravian Church in Happy Valley Goose Bay on Tuesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where the Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, November 4th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Lung Association.

JOHN P. KELLY

CORNER BROOK, NL - Dad was born on Burnt Island, Bonavista Bay, on December 29, 1926, to Michael and Elizabeth Kelly, along with five siblings: Michael, Thomas, Elizabeth, Nellie and Jean. There’s a good old fashion Irish party going on in Heaven now! Cheers Dad! He peacefully passed away at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on the morning of October 29, 2009. Dad fished the waters off Labrador through his teenage years and came to Corner Brook in the late 1940’s and worked for the construction company that built the cement plant and was subsequently hired by North Star Cement Co. where he worked for 39 years until his retirement in 1991. He served as President of their union for two terms in which he negotiated “the best contract ever” according to his buddy Cal Windsor, who served as Union Secretary at the time. He leaves to mourn his seven children: Sharon Penney (Bruce), Corner Brook, Michael Kelly (Kay), Deer Lake, Grace Sheppard (Lowie), McIvers, Nicholas Kelly, Edmonton, AB, Josephine Colbourne (George), Corner Brook, Patricia Park (Brian), McIvers and Cyril Kelly (Jeannette), Brampton, ON; 13 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Hazel Kelly, Corner Brook and Margaret Rogers, Ontario; as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, his many friends and former coworkers. Besides his parents and siblings, he was predeceased by his wife Annie Louise Kelly (nee Lavers) in 1980, her parents Alban and Jenny (nee Frampton) of Port Saunders, and Mom’s siblings, Aggie, Billy, Joe, Nicholas and Josephine. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. The funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 2nd at 10:30 A.M. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue, officiated by Father Gordon Grace. Cremation to follow with a private burial at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.

Anne Doyle
1918-2009

Passed peacefully away on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre in the presence of her loving family, Anne (Ryan) Doyle of St. Andrew’s, Codroy Valley, formerly of Red Island, Placentia Bay, at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband, Walter, sisters Elizabeth Barry, Nellie Fitzpatrick, Margaret Martin and her brothers Frank, Patrick and William Ryan. She was dearly loved and admired by her children, step-daughters, and grandchildren. She leaves to mourn her children: Kevin (Angela), Ottawa, Sylvia, Sister of Mercy, Stephenville, Marilyn and Brendan (Bernadette), St. Andrew’s, NL, Brian, Elora, Ontario, and her step-daughters: Marie, Ottawa, Pauline, NJ, and Catherine, Ohio, and her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leaving to mourn also, sisters in law; Josephine Ryan (Stephenville) and Margaret Doyle (Stephenville), as well as, a large number of nieces, nephews, and special friends. She will be resting at The Church of The Precious Blood, St. Andrew’s. Wake vigil will take place at The Church of The Precious Blood on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 8:30pm to 10pm and on Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church of Precious Blood or St. Mary’s Hermitage Foundation, Codroy Valley. Special thanks to her homecare workers Dianne and Lorraine. Thanks also to Dr. Wendy Graham and staff at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre.

FRANCES MAY COFFIN
May 3, 1932 - October 11, 2009

Port Aux Basques, NL - It is with sadness that the family of the late Frances Coffin announce her passing on Sunday, October 11th, 2009 at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 78 years. Born at Cape Ray, Frances was the daughter of the late Mildred and Emmanuel Pearce. She was predeceased by her husband James (1987); brothers: Nelson and Joseph Pearce; sisters: Bridget, Catherine and Theresa; brothers-in-law: Roy, Roland, Ross, Fred, Eric, Pierce, Clifford and Silas; sisters-in-law: Kitty, Vernice and Dulcie. Leaving to mourn son Robert (Lorna) Coffin, Port Aux Basques; daughters: Sharon (David) Carroll, Pasadena, and Shelley Coffin, Port Aux Basques; grandsons: Robert, James and Jeffrey Coffin; grand-daughter Jennifer Carroll; sisters: Elsie (Rodney) Parsons, Phyllis Piercey and Caroline Pike; brothers: Lew Pearce, Frank (Doreen) Pearce; sisters-in-law: Florence Osmond, Edith Coffin, Dorothy Coffin and Laura Pearce; brothers-in-law: Maxwell Currie and Charlie Witherall, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service took place on Wednesday, October 14th at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Mary Ann Boote. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted.

JULIA RITA CROSS
FEBRUARY 13, 1910 … OCTOBER 15, 2009

ST. FINTAN’S, NL - It is with great sadness the family of the late Julia Rita Cross (nee: Farrell) announce her passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the age of 99 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her beloved son Harold (Rona), their children: Dean (Nancy), Leanda (Chris); daughter-in-law Angela Cross, her children: Karen (Craig), June (Dion); great-grandchildren: Aimee, Cody, Tristan, Janelle, and Christian Morris. Also leaving to mourn one niece, two nephews especially Jack Gale who was like a son to her and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert; parents Elizabeth and John Farrell; son Jerome; sisters Ida, Gene; brothers: Eugene, Bill, Jackie, and Harold. The family will be receiving friends on Friday from 7 … 9 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in St. David’s from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon David Pearce officiating. Interment will follow in the Anglican Cemetery, St. David’s. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
