GEORGE’S, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Mary Bedelia Delaney (nee: Cormier) announce her passing on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing at the age of 95 years. She leaves to mourn with many precious memories her husband Charles; daughters: Viola Delaney, Margaret (Melvin) Hapgood; grandchildren: Julia, Michael, Sandra, Paul, Todd, Melanie, Jonathan; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers: Gerald, Adolph (Marlene) as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Narcisse and Catherine Cormier; brothers; infant Hubert, Lawrence, Hubert, Joseph, Jack; sisters: Annie, Sister Stephanie, Barbara, Madeline, Vera, and Margaret. Visitation will take place from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, St. George’s on Saturday from 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where the Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will take place following the Mass in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shallop Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 at the age of 79 years, William J. Maher. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his daughter Judy; son Glenn (Paula); three grand-children: Jessicah, Eugene and Stephen; sister Ellen Parsons, along with a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by his wife Shirley (nee Daye) 1975; parents Thomas and Katherine; sisters: Margeurite and Mary; brother Sandy. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Curling on Thursday, September 17th at 10:30 am. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vivian Elizabeth Joy announce her passing on Monday, September 14th, 2009 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 68 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Frank Joy, sons: Tom Joy and Dan (Sherry) Joy, grandchildren: Zachary, Chelsea, Shane and Kaylee, sister Sheila (Kevin) Power, brothers: Maurice (Gloria) O’Connell, Tom (Elizabeth) O’Connell, Patrick (Rosella) O’Connell, Joseph (Mary) O’Connell, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents William and Loretta O’Connell and sister Minnie O’Reilly. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: husband, Edward Baggs; daughters: Tanya (Perry) and Tonya (Jason); son: Coby (Melanie); two precious grandchildren: Aimee and Emily; her father: Mr. Benjamin Wells; sisters: Sheila (Ralph) LeFrense and Elaine (Eddie) Wells; brothers: Benjamin (Elsie), Rodney (Susanna), Deon (Jocelyn), Curtis (Cavell) and Glendon (Wanda); mother-in-law: Catherine Baggs; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and other relatives and friends. CROWELL, Earl Gordon
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce his peaceful passing at the DVA Pavilion, O’Connell Centre, September 8, 2009 in his 88th year. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, February 20, 1922. A wonderful husband and father, he served with the Royal Air Force on loan from the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1945 as a RADAR installation technician. He retired as Manager of Insurance with the Unemployment Insurance Commission after 35 years of service. An avid gardener, he began concentrating on the growing of roses in his retirement. From needlework to painting to photography to woodworking and carving, his hobbies were as numerous as they were varied. A Renaissance Man by the true definition. Predeceased by parents Wilfred and Hattie Crowell; sisters Audrey (Willi) Cziborr and Phyllis (Thomas) Johnson; brother Roy; sisters-in-law Muriel Gillam, Vera Gillam and Rhoda Wells, and brothers-in-law Donald Gillam, Alex Gillam, Eric Mahoney, George Morris, Donald Poole and George Wells and nephews Gary Gillam and Don Wells. He will be forever missed by his wife of 56 years Isabelle (Gillam); sons Thomas (Adele) Halifax, NS and John (Patricia) St. John’s, NL; grand daughters Amelia and Julia (Tom) and Stephanie (John); and grandsons Andrew and Stephen (John); sisters: Vivian Morris, Shirley (Raymond) McNabb, Beth (Billy) Noseworthy, brothers Donny (Joyce) and George (Jean); sisters-in-law Hilda Gillam, Joan Gillam and Ann Poole; brothers-in-law Ira (Linda) Gillam, Bob (Phoebe) Gillam and Bill (Gwen) Gillam, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She will be sadly missed by her children: Blaine (Betty), Valory (John) Boland, Darryl (Aggie), Juanita Brake (the late Bert Brake Jr.), Tyler, Jordan (Sandy) and Fred (Tanis); grandchildren: Alicia, Aaron, Christopher, Jennifer, Ryan, Taylor, Adam, David and Noah; great-grandchildren: Miranda, Matthew, Michaela, Brandon and Aiden; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mona (Mike) Urbenz, Derm (Christina) Christopher, Ed (Louise) Christopher, Thelma (Jim) Dunphy, Betty (George) Payne and Gloria Christopher, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Jim of 61 years, 3 daughters: Ellen (Leo) Hynes, Rhonda (Lorne) Tucker and Kathy (Don) McCabe, one son Larry (Sylvia), 9 grandchildren: Roxanne, Barry, Blair, Glen, Cheri, Ryan, Brandon, Jeremy and Kayla, 8 great-grandchildren: Alicia, Lynea, Jessica, Morgan, Ethan, Mya, Avery and Justin, 1 great-great-grandchild Nashawn.
