Mathilda Hoskins, 82, of Lunenburg, NS passed away on Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 at her home. Born in Lourdes, NL, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (nee Bruce) Young. Mathilda spent most of her life raising her family in Boswarlos, NL and moved for a few years to Ontario, and then came to reside in 1979 to Luneburg. The warmth and friendliness of her Newfoundland spirit was always a large part of who she was. Whether in the home or the wider community, Mathilda’s kindness and generous love were experienced by both family and friends. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters: Mavis Smith of Bowanville, ON, Delores Labinowicz, Back Centre; sons: Calvin (Carole) Hoskins, Brampton, ON, Danny (Sheila) Hoskins, Dayspring, Charles, Brampton, ON, James (Karen) Hoskins, Blockhouse, John Hoskins, Lunenburg and Wallace Hoskins, Lunenburg; husband Charles, Bayport; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Ronald, infant son Junior, 14 brothers and sisters and great-grandchild Ryan.
