Deer Lake, NL - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at her home in Deer Lake Mary Ann Ball, on Tuesday May 25th, 2010 at the age of 95. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter: Clarice (Reuben) Critch, daughter in law Delphine Ball, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, brothers: Raymond (Irene) Curlew, Reidsville, Calvin (Dorothy) Deer Lake, Winston, Deer Lake, Harry (Barbara), Deer Lake, Douglas (Gladys) B.C, Donald, Ontario, sisters: Sadie Shears, Port aux Basques, Renee Dinney, Deer Lake and sister in law Joan Curlew, Deer Lake as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence, son Calvin, daughter Doris, brothers: James, Harold, Roy, sisters: Bertha, May, Pearl and her parents James and Emma Curlew. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Wednesday from the hours of 3-5 & 7-9 PM, The Funeral service will be held on Thursday May 27th at 2:00 PM from the Salvation Army Church with Majors Wayne and Betty Ann Pike officiating. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Malcolm Baker, Shirley Knowls (Dave), Gary Cassell (Velda), Ida Tourout, Iris Marcotte (Allan Eriksson), Golda Cassell, Donna Cassell (Glen Anstey), Glenn Cassell (Donna), Glenda Earl (Bill), Susan White (Gary), Christopher Cassell and Gina Knap (Rick), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friends Lucinda and Joan George; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband John Baptiste Lainey; her children: Michael Lainey, Theresa Young, Ellis Lainey, Gerarld Lainey, Marina Lainey, Ann Rouzes, Catherine LeCointre, Robert Lainey, Majella Lainey, Bernard Lainey, Delores Green, John Lainey Jr., Verna Lainey; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granchild; brothers: Kevin Hall, Angus Hall; sisters: Perpetua March, Mary Dennis, Leila Duborgois, Berthina White as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Ann Hall; daughters Mary and Phyllis Lainey; sisters: Rita Rouzes, Isabelle Ryan, Theresa Jesso; brothers: Howard Hall, Hugh Hall, Michael Hall, and Joseph Hall. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Neil (formerly of Corner Brook), announce his sudden passing at the Halifax Infirmary, Wednesday, October 19th, 2005 at the age of 47 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife, Eileen (Young), (formerly of Cape St. George); son Michael, and daughters Laura and Wanda; his father, Llewellyn Neil and Stepmother Barbara; brothers: Wayne (Trudy), Corner Brook, Robert (Karen), Dartmouth; sisters: Evelyn (Ed) Russell, St. John's, Olive (Michael) Ledrew, Corner Brook; Beatrice (Larry) Noseworthy, Corner Brook; stepsisters: Faye (Jack) Otto, Palm Springs, Ferne Knight, Corner Brook and stepbrother, Joe (Zella) Battiste, North Bay, mother-in-law Cecilia Young, Beaver Bank; brothers-in-law: Hyacinth (Brenda) Young; Nathan and Thomas Young; sister-in-law, Lorraine Young (Bob Powers) all of New Brunswick. Loved and remembered, as well, by numerous nieces and nephews, special friends Margie and Boyd Payne (formerly from Rocky Harbour) now living in Sackville; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Gerald was predeceased by his brother, Derek and his mother, Vivian. Gerald joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1977 and completed 22 years of service including tours in Germany and Persian Gulf War. Upon completion of military service he was employed at Air Nova for the pass six years. Gerald was a devoted family man who enjoyed cooking, hunting, playing cards and darts.
