Passed peacefully away at the palliative care unit of Western Memorial Hospital, Corner Brook, in her 88th year, on April 24, 2010, Agnes (Turpin) Lees. Predeceased by her husband William (Shorty) Lees; parents, Edward and Lucy; brothers Gerard, Francis (Roche), and Robert; sisters, Violet Lundrigan, Mary Cove, Lena Rielly, Theresa O’Reilly, and Norma Turpin. Leaving to mourn her brother Victor and wife Mary of Corner Brook; sisters Nora Rector of Burlington, Ont., and Flora Fitzpatrick of Oshawa, Ont.; sisters-in-law Meta Turpin of St. Lawrence and Priscilla Turpin of St. John’s. Also left to mourn are a large number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, at Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. No flowers by request. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Samuel Pritchett announce his passing on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn two sons: Newton (Lorie), Gillams; and Neil (Tiffany), Ontario. Sisters: Florie Lannon, Ontario; Madge Fitzgerald (Edward), Ontario. Three special grandchildren: Jacob, Katie, and Meghan Pritchett and their mother, Joreen, all from Ontario. One step-grandson: Coby Skiffington, Gillams. Brothers-in-Law: Earl Penney (Irene), Corner Brook; and Willis Penney (Betty), Clarenville. Sisters-in-Law: Margaret Pritchett, North Carolina; Vinie Stanley (Eric), Clarenville; Rowena Humphries, Gambo; Belle Vardy, Clarenville; and Louie Phillips, Burgoynes Cove. Special care-giver: Dee Blake; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth in 2008; his parents Samuel and Rachel; brothers Newton, Kitchener, and Winston; and sister Daphne. Margaret was born May 21, 1944 in Seal Cove Conception Bay South.
