Clayton Robert Coates
March 15th 1976 – January 8th 2010

Woody Point - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton Coates announce his sudden passing on Friday, January 8th 2010 in Woody Point at the age of 33 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his parents William and Doris Coates, Woody Point, brother Danny (Tina), Benoits Cove, nephews: Bailey, Tyler, grandmothers: Marigold Coates and Georgina Gillam both of Woody Point, as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, other realtives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfathers: Robert Coates Sr. and John Gillam Sr. Friends may visit the Anglican Church of the Epiphany in Woody Point on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 12th at 2 PM with Rev. John Olsson officating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a Charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake.

FREEMAN GEORGE PENNEY
April 12th, 1927 - December 11th, 2009

Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Freeman George Penney announce his peaceful passing on Friday, December 11th, 2009 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Anne (nee Ezekiel), sons: John (Ellen) and Stephen (Roseanne), daughters: Ruth Kawaja and Lois Penney, grandchildren: Anna and Jacqueline Kawaja, sisters: Ruth Skinner, Elizabeth (Scott) James and Rosealie (Dave) Lloyd, sisters-in-law: Etta Penney and Lorna Dwyer, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Freeman and Florence Penney and brother Frank Penney. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 15th at 11:00 AM from the First United Church, Park Street with Rev. Dr. Wayne Cole officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Church Memorial Fund or to the Diabetic Association.

Nora Noseworthy

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nora Frances Noseworthy (nee Gaulton) announce her passing at St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's on Friday, November 13th, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Leaving to mourn sons: Bolden (Susan) Noseworthy and Llewellyn (Virginia) Noseworthy; daughters: Irene (Garfield) Stevens, Eliza (Joe) Hill, Ruth (Wayne) Bobinski, Ada (Seymour) Gaulton and families; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Susie Gaulton, Sara Hodge, Ada (Garfield) Warren, and a large circle of niedes, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family received friends from St. Mark's Anglican Church in Savage Cove on Saturday and Sunday, from where the Funeral Service took place on Monday, November 16th, 2009 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Canon Hubert Vallis officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery in Savage Cove. A special thank you to St. Patrick's Nursing Home in St. John's, Olive Gaulton who was astronomical in her help and support to the family, Fillatre's Funeral Home, and all who helped in their own way to provide comfort and support to the family. A special thanks to Rev. Vallis and the choir. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

NOEL THERESA (Nee Davis)

Port au Choix, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Theresa Noel announce her passing on Saturday, October 24th, 2009 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 59 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Verdun, mother Mary Bridgett, sisters: Genevieve (Cyril) Matchem, Milltown and Geraldine (Lorrie) Rumbolt, Port au Choix; brothers :Anthony (Diane) Davis, St. Albans and Fabian Davis, Raleigh, North Carolina; mother-in-law Ella Noel, sisters-in-law: Patricia (Gregory) O’Keefe and Helena (Iram) Moores, brothers-in-law: Maurice Noel and Roderick Jr. of Port au Choix, sister-in-law Reba Noel (David), Vancouver, BC, brother-in-law Brian (Charlie), Maple Ridge, BC and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), father Cecil, brother Edmund, father-in-law Roderick and brother-in-law Loman. The family will be receiving friends from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 27th at 11:00 AM from St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to the Heart and Lung Associations.

PHILLIP ALEXANDER PARK
July 17th, 1938 - October 30th, 2009

Cox’s Cove, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Philip Alexander Park announce his passing on Friday, October 30th, 2009 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 71 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 47 years Ada (Nee Osbourne), children: Brian, Stephenville, Evelyn (Manoel) Janes, Waterloo, Ont, Sandra (Tony) Parsons, Summerside and Charlene (Rick) Remers, Kitchener Ont; grandchildren: Terra (Jessie), Heather (Jeremy), Shane (Amy), Toni, Jenna and Jordan; great-grandsons: Christian Philip and Ethan Alexander, brothers: Elwin (Elsie) Park, Cox’s Cove, John (Mae) Park, Cox’s Cove and Austin (Linda) Park, Ontario; sisters: Sadie (Garfield) Parsons, McIvers, Theresa Park, Cox’s Cove and Emma Park, Cox’s Cove; brother-in-law Joe (Nellie) Osbourne, Seal Cove; sisters-in-law: Lorraine (Robert) Burton, Seal Cove and Nellie Matchett, St. John’s, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Murdock and Nora Park and sister Goldie Parsons. Friends may visit St. Nicholas’ Anglican Church in Cox’s Cove beginning Sunday at 1:00 PM from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd at 2:00 PM with Rev. MARSH, WINSTON ALVIN

Deer Lake - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winston Marsh announce his passing on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009, at his family residence in Deer Lake at the age of 77 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Greta; 2 dogs Barney and Mackey; sisters June Marsh, Kelligrews, Faye (Walter) Wells, Deer Lake; nephew Carl Marsh, Deer Lake; sisters–in-law: Mabel Roberts, Ivy Noble, Marjorie (Bruce) Wells all of Springdale and special friends Una and Melvin Hoyles, Deer Lake, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary Marsh and his sister Jean Young. Friends may visit Fillatres Funeral, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM from where the funeral will be held on Friday November 6th 2009 at 11 AM with Major Leighton Patey and Major Wayne Pike officiating. Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sylvester Gough announce his passing on Sunday, November 8th, 2009 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his wife Ida in 1991. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters: Zellah (Joe) Battiste, Arnprior, Ont. and Laura (Eric) Blakeley, Ottawa, Ont; son Selby “Buster” Gough, Corner Brook and Maureen Gough, Corner Brook; grandchildren: Aaron Battiste, Costa Rica, Brent Mitchell, Ottawa, Ont., Dawn Tulk, Corner Brook and Mark Gough, Corner Brook; brothers: Darryl (Fay), Gander and Ezekiel (Vida), York Harbour; sister Molly Sanger, Elliston; dear friend Emma Rose, Corner Brook. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 11th at 3:00 PM from First United Church, Park Street with Marilyn Avery officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. McKay’s, NL - Passed peacefully away on Sunday, November 8th, 2009 James David Hulan at S. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John’s at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories 3 daughters: Ellen (Leo) Hynes, Highlands, Rhonda (Lorne) Tucker, Mount Pearl and Kathy (Don) McCabe, Moncton, NB; one son Larry (Sylvia), McKay’s 9 grandchildren: Roxanne, Barry, Blair, Glen, Ryan, Cheri, Brandon, Kayla and Jeremy, 8 great-grandchildren: Alicia, Lynea, Jessica, Morgan, Ethan, Mya, Avery and Justin, 1 great-great-grandchild Nashawn, brothers: George (Roma) and Jerry (Mary), sisters: Vivian, Elvena, Pearl (Gordon) Hulan, Ruby and Una (Don) Gilliam, sister-in-law Una. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret of 61 years, parents Jeremiah and Ellen, brothers Ellis (Martha), Rodney and Mack (Freda), brothers-in-law Roy Gilliam, Harvey Hewlin and Murdock Brake. Friends may visit St. George’s Anglican Church in Robinson’s on Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Canon David Pearce officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, McKay’s. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
