Curling, NL - Passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Hospital - Mabel Bartlett in her 86th year. Left with wonderful memories are husband Frank of 69 years. Daughters Joyce Northcott (Gord) Ontario, Kathy (Jack Carlson) Corner Brook, Sons Bob (Ontario), Frank (Wanda) Corner Brook, Terry (Valerie) Paradise, NL. Grandchildren Craig, Wade, Keith, Jay, David, Geoffrey, Scott, and Danielle; 6 great grandchildren Johnathon, Nicole, Megan, Ryan, Ethan and Madison; One great great grandchild Colton. Special dog Logan. Clayton Parsons officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium with burial at a later date. McIver’s, NL - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wade Parsons, age 58, at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital, on Friday, February 4th, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 34 years, Pauline; daughters: Gerri-Lynn (Dwayne Curtis), McIvers, Nikki (Chris Gillis), Meadows; son: Robert (Jennifer), Summerside; five precious grandchildren whom were the lights of his life: Carlee and Kelly Curtis, Landon and Samantha Gillis and Emily Parsons; sisters and brothers: Rhoda Twyne (Edger), McIvers, Laurence (Eileen), McIvers, Melvin (Rowena), McIvers, Judy (Clarence Park), Cox’s Cove; father-in-law: Donald Park, McIvers; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bernice Parsons, McIvers, Gilbert (Lynn) Park, Cox’s Cove, Ernie (Elaine) Park, McIvers, Lloyd (Rose) Park, McIvers, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Passed away Thursday, January 27th, 2011 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre, Donald B. Humber at the age of 75 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughter Elaine Humber (Martin Beeton); sons: Alan Humber (Hope Pilgrim), Raymond Humber (Cynthia); grandchildren: Andrew Humber, Fiona Humber; brother Gerald Humber (Robina); sisters: Ivy Williams, Elsie Elliott; sisters-in-law Georgina Bailey, Mary Humber, Stella Humber, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred, March 21, 2010; brothers: Ronald, Reginald, Harold and Cyril; sisters: Dorothy, Ella, Melissa and Rose. SUMMERSIDE, NL - With the quiet strength and dignity that he lived his life, David Rayfield Wellman, age 70, slipped away Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at Western Memorial Hospital, Corner Brook. Predeceased by his parents Paul and Annie Wellman, brother: Howard and his in laws Wesley and Marie Loder. Dave is loved and forever remembered by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; sons: Roger (Carolann) and Darryl (Lori); grandsons: Blair (Candice) and Justin (Meghan); granddaughters: Kayla (Justin) and Deidre; great grandchildren: Maddison, Jada and Alex; seven brothers: Len (Madeline), Lorne (Tally), Wayne (Fern), Wallace (Faye), Joe (Teresa), Kerry (Hazel) and Keith; four sisters: Gloria (Lenard), Marilyn (Steve), Pauline, Lorna (Corbin); sister-in-law: Valerie Wellman; in laws, The Loder family; Alvin (Maxine), Joan (Earl), Jerry (Gloria), Terry (Vivian), Tony (Dallas), Andy (Karen), Brad (Cindy); cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends too many to count. Dave was born in Springdale and moved to Corner Brook as a young man for employment. He retired in 2001 after 42 years of service as a steam engineer at Western Memorial Hospital. He met Barbara Loder, they married, built their home in Summerside, raised their two sons and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 4th, 2011. Dave was a gentle and generous man, who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting and fishing and spending time with friends and family at his cabin in Sheffield Lake. He loved to grow flowers and herbs, and experimented with growing varieties of potatoes. Dave leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark Avenue on Thursday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 11:00 A.M. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street. Majors Robert and Cassie Kean and Reverend Malcolm Palmer officiating.
