Passed away Monday May 9th, 2011 Ronnie Griffin at the age of 27. He is survived by his daughter Brittany, mother Wanda, father Ronald, his best friend and brother Sean, niece Madison, grandparents Cain and Iris Lovell and a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Gertrude and Ronald Griffin. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 13th at 10:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Curling Street, Father Don Leonard officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Corner Brook, NL - Passed peacefully away on Sunday May 8th, 2011, Yvonne Helen Doody at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 72 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her five children: Michael (Kristopher), Vancouver, BC, Beverly (Clifford), Corner Brook, Theresa (Michael), Corner Brook, John (Angelia), St. John’s and Henry (Angela), Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Samantha, Sarah, Kimberly, Emily, Katie, Joshua, Ariana and Isabella; brothers: Henry (Goldie) Companion and Ronnie Companion; sisters: Agnes (Jack) Taylor, Gertrude (Herb) Batstone, Pauline (Gord) House, Judy (wade) Companion, Genny (Amos) Gabriel; sisters-in-law: Agnes Corcoran (Mike), and Etta Conway; brother-in-law: Monsignor James Doody; and cousin Edgar Doody. STEPHENVILLE CROSSING, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Arthur Lawson Galpin announce his passing on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife June; daughter Sharon Galpin; grandchildren: Dylan, Brooke, Liam Pumphrey; sister Ruby (Chuck) McLaughlin as well as five nieces, five nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Bertha Galpin; brothers: Llewellyn, Thomas, Jim; infant sister Susan. The funeral service will take place from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in St. George’s, NL on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gwen Butler officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Church Cemetery. To honour Arthur’s request cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted. A reception will take place at the St. George’s Legion following the service. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 43 years Roy Warren; children: Gail (Rob) Specker, Corner Brook, Sean (Angela) Warren, Calgary, Alberta and Ryan Warren (Vanessa Porter), Mount Pearl; grandchildren: Jenna and Ethan Specker and Oliver Warren; brothers: Clarence (Jackie) Rose, Dieppe, New Brunswick and Keith Rose (Clara Pitcher), Grand Falls-Windsor; sisters-in-law: Margaret (Wesley) Hillier, Corner Brook and Lorraine (Merv) Rideout, Grand Falls-Windsor; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Nellie Rose, parents-in-law Edgar and Maude Warren. Corner Brook, NL - On Saturday, May 7, 2011, Roger peacefully left this world with his loving and devoted wife of 58 years Katherine "Kitty" (nee O’Brien) at his side; Roger also leaves his eternally grateful and loving children: Peter, Terry, Brian, John, Mary, Anne Marie, Carolyn and Kevin and their spouses Jim, Tom, Karen and Ian; cherished grandchildren: Justin, Jason (Heather), Michael, Taylor, Alex, Jessica, Stephanie, Samantha, Katie, Andrew and Zachary; Roger loved the time he spent with his great-grandchildren: Ashley, Gabriella and Charlie; special buddy Molly; Roger was the son of Allen and Elizabeth Colbourne who raised a loving and close-knit family of 10: Gerald, Reg, Nellie, Joan, Bob, Betty, George, Ruth and Ted. Roger was a much loved and respected uncle and true friend to many. As a respected member of the community, Roger was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. During his active life in Corner Brook he served as President of the Minor Hockey Association, President of the Paper Makers Union, Chairman of the Joint Mill Unions and was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Roger was the proud recipient of the Corner Brook Citizen of the Year for his many contributions to the city. Roger’s sense of fairness and ability to relate to people carried on through his career as a Labour Relations Specialist with the Department of Labour. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue with Father Joseph Gash officiating, with a reception to follow at the Glynmill Inn, Cobb Lane. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation or to the Children’s Wish Foundation.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie McAllister announce her passing on Friday, April 1st, 2011 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 91 years.
