Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Windhoek, Namibia - We are so sad to announce that our Mom passed away suddenly on Friday, March 04, 2011 at her home in Corner Brook. She had just turned 54. Katrin was a talented artist and educator who impacted many lives with love and compassion and her beautiful work. Left to mourn her and remember her always are her four daughters, Maike, Nina, Suzanne and Karen; her mother, Barbara; her sisters Susanne and Danja; the father of her children, Chris; sisters-in-law Jenny and Glynnis; brothers-in-law Declan and Dicky; nieces and nephews, Chrissie, Melanie, Daniel, Cieran, Gracie, Rose, Nicola and Tina; and her many close and loyal friends of which there are too many to name (and her fierce cat, Brutus). She is predeceased by her two fathers, Herb and Helmut. There will be no visitation, but a funeral service will be held this Wednesday at 6pm at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St Mark's Avenue. This is a celebration of how much we all love Katrin, so please wear something colourful to commemorate her beautiful, bright life. Flowers will also be graciously accepted (no carnations, please - not her favourite) and we will gather after the service for tea, coffee and food for those who wish to stay. A memory journal will be available for those who wish to record a special thought or memory of Katrin. We thank you for your wonderful support during this very hard time.
