It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Skinner announce his passing at the Calder Health Care Centre in Burgeo, NL at the age of 73 years. Friends may visit St. Boniface Anglican Church in Ramea on Wednesday and Thursday, from where the Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, April 28th at 2:00 p.m., Reverend Maryrose Colbourne officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted.

Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Windhoek, Namibia - We are so sad to announce that our Mom passed away suddenly on Friday, March 04, 2011 at her home in Corner Brook. She had just turned 54. Katrin was a talented artist and educator who impacted many lives with love and compassion and her beautiful work. Left to mourn her and remember her always are her four daughters, Maike, Nina, Suzanne and Karen; her mother, Barbara; her sisters Susanne and Danja; the father of her children, Chris; sisters-in-law Jenny and Glynnis; brothers-in-law Declan and Dicky; nieces and nephews, Chrissie, Melanie, Daniel, Cieran, Gracie, Rose, Nicola and Tina; and her many close and loyal friends of which there are too many to name (and her fierce cat, Brutus). She is predeceased by her two fathers, Herb and Helmut. There will be no visitation, but a funeral service will be held this Wednesday at 6pm at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St Mark's Avenue. This is a celebration of how much we all love Katrin, so please wear something colourful to commemorate her beautiful, bright life. Flowers will also be graciously accepted (no carnations, please - not her favourite) and we will gather after the service for tea, coffee and food for those who wish to stay. A memory journal will be available for those who wish to record a special thought or memory of Katrin. We thank you for your wonderful support during this very hard time.

Jackson’s Arm - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Wicks announce his passing on Monday, December 28th 2009 at his family residence in Jackson’s Arm, at the age of 38. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his parents Wilson and Bonnie Wicks, brother Walter (Lisa), sisters: Tammy (Carl) Taylor, Barbara (Darren) Gardner, Nieces: Jenna, Alexandra, Hailey and nephew Patrick as well as a large circle of Aunts Uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Edgar and Priscilla Wicks and Walter and Pearl Tulk. Friends may visit St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church in Jackson’s Arm on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 31st, at 11 AM with Rev. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lloyd Anthony announce his passing on Thursday, April 14th at the Labrador Health Centre at the age of 73 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Gwendolyn; and children: Thomas (Melinda), Barry (Beverly), Randy, and Shelley (Shawn); 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Sandra was a very loving wife and such a wonderful mother.
