HILDA MARJORIE STONE

Corner Brook, NL (Formerly of Henley Harbour, Labrador) - Passed peacefully away on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at her daughter’s residence, Hilda Marjorie Stone at the age of 91 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Trudy (Darryl), Maxine (Alvin), Olive (Tom) and Irene (Tom); sons: Ellis (Dallas) and Ira (Sylvia); son-in-law Richmond; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George, daughter Elsie, parents Elijah and Mary Emily Stone, sisters Henrietta, Dorcas, Eva, Stella and Nina, brothers Walter, Wallace, Ernest and Charles. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 10-12 noon. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14 at 2:00 pm. From St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Curling with Rev. Karen Laldin officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Curling. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

1916-2012
Passed peacefully on Thursday, January 12th, 2012, at Corner Brook Long Term Care, Eileen Basha at the age of 95.She was predeceased by her husband, Jack, her sons Gerry and Fred, her grandson Mark, brothers Bernard and Austin Davis and sister, Mae Schmidt. Left to celebrate her life are her daughters Betty (Don), Maureen (Mike), Sharon (Sisters of Mercy) and son Brian (Katrina); daughters-in-law, Mary and Catherine (Kay); grandchildren, Carolyn, Maureen, Andrew, Stephen, Mia, John, Sharon-Rose, Eileen-Anne, Richard, Denise, Nadine and Olivia; great grandchildren, Ben, Mallory, Emelia, Maura, Sam, Laura, Sophie, Amira and Cally, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 16th at 10:30 a.m. from The Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue, Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in her name to The Shepherds Fund.

Frenchman’s Cove, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Joseph Vaters announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 at the age of 75 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Lillian; children: Rita (Eric), Sylvia (Doug), Patsy, William (Wendy), Philomena (Tony), Patrick (Michelle), Roseanne (Terrance), Kirk (Jennifer), Christopher (Crystal) and Neil (Alison); 20 grandchildren: Neil, Megan, Nicholas, Clifford, Marlena, Stephen, Kayla, Lacey, Joshua, Ashley, Krista, Mark, Lorna, Colby, Ryan, Travis, Carson, Richard, Jessica and Christian; 18 great-grandchildren: Abigail, Logan, Ethan, Tristan, Marcus, Matthew, Madison, Summer, Austin, Meika, Brandi, Kylee, Taylor, Chloe, Caden, Teara, T.J. and Chase; brother Steven Vaters (Shirley), step-brother Richard Vaters, step-sister Mercedes Sheppard (Clarence), sisters-in-law Joanne Vaters, Madonna Hooper, Mary Wall (Bob), Christina McCarthy (Robert), Karen Boland and Mary Ellen Shallow (Gus); brothers-in-law: Philip Boland (Margaret) and Kevin (Julie) Boland; special nephew Enos Vaters (Philomena) who spent numerous hours throughout the years of his illness with his uncle; home care workers: Krista Batt, Alison Vaters and Jennifer Wheeler; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents Trifena and Will John Vaters; granddaughter Trifena Vaters; brothers: Patrick Vaters and James Vaters; sisters: Patricia Pennell and Rose Barnes; mother-in-law Rita Boland; father-in-law William Boland; brothers-in-law: Patrick Boland and Sydney Boland. The family would like to thank Dr. Young and Staff, Palliative Care Doctors and Staff, Nicole Lafosse, Community Health Care Nurse and family and friends that helped durning Joseph’s illness. Corner Brook, NL - Passed peacefully away while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 in Palliative Care at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, after a long courageous battle with cancer, Lloyd Clifford Ross Bartlett at the age of 72 years. He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife and best friend of 52 years, Doris; children: Sean Bartlett (Sandra), Ron Bartlett (Karen), Lisa Colbourne (Darren); grandchildren: Angela (Wes), Kimberly, Ashley, Heather, Rebecca, Matthew and Jacob, great granddaughter Haylie; brother Vic Bartlett(Myrna), sisters: Velma Wheeler (Dave), Audrey Bartlett (Bob Metcalf), Mary Crane; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Gussila Bartlett, sister Alma Bartlett, brother Carl Bartlett. Hallandale Beach, Florida (Formerly of Winterhouse Brook, Bonne Bay) - Passed peacefully away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, Catherine Mary Chatelet (Nee Kennedy) in her 82nd year. She leaves to mourn her step-brother James (Betty) Brake, Curling; sister-in-law Jeanette Kennedy, Norris Point. She will also be sadly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Marcel Chatelet, parents Richard and Drucilla Kennedy, brothers John and Anthony Kennedy, sister and brother-in-law Margaret and George Jones, nephews Douglas and Kevin Jones and baby niece Sheila Jones. Special thanks to staff at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital 4th Floor and Palliative Care Unit and special friend Lynn Kulchyski. Cremation has taken place at Catherine’s request. A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
