John “Charlie” Payne

Cox’s Cove, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charlie Payne announce his sudden passing at his residence on Thursday, January 5th, 2012 at the age of 55 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories : his wife, Judy (nee White); sons: Jeff Janes (Judy), Grant Janes, Melvin Payne (Shelley), Norman Payne and Nathan Payne (Brittany); daughter: Renee Furlong (Scott); grandchildren: Logan Payne, Zachery Janes, Marcus, Gavin and Paige Furlong; brother: Philip (Annie) Payne; mother-in-law: Lillian Abbott; brothers and sisters-in-law: Shirley Payne, Norman White (Lillian), Tony White (Evelyn), Louise (Russell) Park and Sherry (Michael) Robinson; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Winnifred and Henry Payne; brother: Cyril Payne and father-in-law: Ralph Abbott. Visitation will take place from St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, January 9th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Joan Coles officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

BOWDRIDGE, Eric Reginald
January 31st, 1935 – December 19th, 2011

Deer Lake, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric Bowdridge announce his passing on Monday, December 19th, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, at the age of 76. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mildred, children: Gary; BC, David (Rosemarie); St John’s, Paul (Burnetta); Ontario, Debbie (Gary) Wheeler; Ontario, Andrew (Diane); Bonavista, grandchildren: Howard, Paula, Sarah, Jamie, Rachael, Steven, Todd, Amanda, Jannice, great grandchildren: Emily, Julia, Jasmine, Kylie, Elijah, Madison, Jordon, sister June Noseworthy, brother Dalton Bowdridge and special cousins Olive and Phil Bryant, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Reginald and Mae Bowdridge and brothers Donald and Scott. Cremation has taken place from Humber Valley Crematorium and interment will follow in the New Year.

Deer Lake, NL - Passed peacefully into the presence of the lord, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, December 12th, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, Lavern Hoddinott at the age of 67. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving husband of 49 years, Harvey, children: Jenny Styles (Glen); Hawkes’ Bay, Harvey (Susan) Hoddinott; Corner Brook, Rhonda (John Neary) Hoddinott; St John’s, Lisa (Shawn) Wells; St Anthony, Deborah (Darren) Compton; Deer Lake, grandchildren: Kelly, Samantha, Emily, Emma, Christina, Jae, Sara, Cassy, Kate, Christian, one great grandson Zachary, sisters and brothers: Lawrence, Rita, Mona, Yvonne, Leila, Barry, Madonna, Dennis, sisters and brothers in law: Vivian, Judy, Pleman, Ralph, Marion, Loretta and Dulcie, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Hubert Patey, mother Caroline Styles, sister Edith, mother and father in law Maude and William Hoddinott, sister in law Sue and brothers in law Clyde and Gordon. Friends and Family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake today, Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 15th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, with Bishop Leonard Whitten officiating. Interment to follow at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.

Lark Harbour, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hedley Wiseman announce his passing on Friday, December 30th, 2011 at Corner Brook Long Term Care Home, DVA Ward at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is his wife of 63 years, Ethel (nee Reid); two daughters: Janice (Richard Tysoe), The Netherlands and Debra (Terry Park), Lark Harbour; grandchildren: Lucas (Michelle) Colangelo, Matthew Willis, Stephen Park, Brittany (Mitch) Park; great grandchildren: Nathan and Rachel Colangelo, and Brayden Park; as well as extended family and friends. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 2nd at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Lark Harbour. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VON or the St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour.

Ada Gladys George
1921-2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ada Gladys George announce her passing on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 in Palliative Care at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 90 years. She will be sadly missed by her five children: Isaac George (Rose), Benoit's Cove, Marilyn Borden (Fraser), Corner Brook, Barbara O’Blenis, Sydney, NS, Elaine Graham, Lower Sackville, NS, Jack George (Linda Ricketts), Curling; precious grandchildren: Darlene, Tina & Terri, Tracey, Corey, Sherry, Blair, Chris, & Matt, John & Tammy; precious great grandchildren: Andrew, Jennifer, Ethan & Cohen, Presley, Emily, Quinn, Mackenzie, Kayla, Alyssa, Tristan, Kendra, Julian, Cailey, Chloe, Kassidy, Logan, Zachary, Gracie, TJ; brother Gary Caines (Frances), as well as a large number of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John Joseph George in 1996; parents Isaac & Miriam Caines; brothers: Jack Caines, Chesley Caines, Ralph Caines, Fred Caines, and Stewart caines; sister Charity Smith. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Curling Street, Father Edmund Camacho officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Thomas Rose announce his passing on Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 61 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Marion (nee Hickey); son Kenneth; grandchildren: Ashton Pennell, Alberta and Josephine Hall, Pasadena; brothers: Robert (Brenda) Rose, St. Jude’s and Garfield (Mary) Framp, Sandyville; mother-in-law Verna Hickey; sister-in-law Susan (Michael) Young; brother-in-law Ted (Bev) Hickey all of Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Max and Nellie Rose. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday from the hours of 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, December 28 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with the funeral service to be held at 8:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his Mom; Doreen Murrin; daughter: Danielle; four grandchildren: sisters: Daisy (Bernard), Judy (Rick), Veronica, Denise (David), Anita, Rosie (Darren) and Cynthia (Rob); brothers: Foster, Melvin (Helene), Elgin (Karen), Brian (Kay), Garwin, and Adam (Joanne); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Murdock Murrin and sister Gaye Murrin. Visitation will take place from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, Cox’s Cove on Saturday, 7-9:00 P.M. and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 P.M, from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, January 2nd, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Darren Sacrey officiating. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31st, at 10:00 A.M. from the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist, Main Street. Arch Bishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Memorial Fund.
