MADDEN, Charles Armand – (aged 59 years) - Passed away suddenly at his home on September 15, 2007. Predeceased by his wife Shirley (nee Pearce); mother Mary; father Charles; brothers: Patrick and Daniel. Leaving to mourn his passing, his only daughter Nancy (Tom Lewis); grandchildren: David Charles, Brandon Tyler and Emma Marie; sisters: Mary Bedard and Kay (Agnes Fuller); brothers: Brendan and Dennis; numerous other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation to be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and 10-12 noon on Wednesday. MAY, Phyllis — Passed peacefully away at Clarke’s Beach Pentecostal Senior Citizen’s Home on Sunday, September 16, 2007, Phyllis May of Bay Roberts, aged 78 years. Predeceased by her parents, Simon and Annie Ivany (nee Garland) and brother William G. (Irene) Ivany; brothers-in-law: Realf Saxton and Water Finch. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Eric of 52 years; sons: Eric (Jean), Robert (Rowena), and David (Liz); sisters: Dolores Saxton and Mary Finch; brothers: Gerard (Dulcie), Raymond (Mary) and Doug (Dorothy); grandchildren: Erin (Justin), Allison, Ericka, Rebecca, Nicholas and Jonas; great-grandchild Leah, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Special thanks to Verna Bowering for all her care and support, as well as to all of Phyllis’ caregivers over the last number of years. Predeceased by wife Joyce; parents, Eugene and Bertha; brothers: Gerald and Clayton and sister Louise. He was a retired employee of the Canadian Coast Guard. Predeceased by his wife Phyllis (April 18, 2005) . FOLEY, Pierce Joseph – 1943 - 2007. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pierce Foley announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, in Grand Falls-Windsor, on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the age of 63. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2502, and was also known throughout the area for his accordion playing. Pierce retired from St. Michael’s High School and in recent years has been teaching at CNA. He is predeceased by parents Philip and Mary Ellen Foley. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 38 years Mary Margaret; son Craig (Nadina); daughters: Deanne Kenny, Jennifer, and Heather (Peter Hicks) . Also leaving to mourn brother Gerald (Shirley); grandchildren: Jessica, Carter, Aiden, Katie and Jadeyn; Aunt Loretta Kelly; brothers-in-law: William (Peggy) and Richard (Gwenenne); sisters-in-law: Jean, Monica (Ewen Newhook); nieces and nephews: Stephanie, Jason, Michelle, Jill, Christopher, Susan, Katherine, Richard, Timothy, Meghan, and Amanda, along with a large circle of relatives and friends. Bishop Martin Currie, Father Colbert, and Father Joy conducted the funeral Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on September 19, 2007. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Power, Basil Lane, Bill King, Ewen Newhook, Lawrence Foley and Leo McGrath. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Tremblett, Dave Barker and Don Pelley.
