CLOUSTON, Muriel Jean – Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Escasoni Home, St. John’s, Muriel Jean Clouston, age 89 years. Jean’s passing was previously announced in The Telegram of August 2, 3 and 4, 2007. Cremation has taken place. A remembrance gathering to celebrate Jean’s life will be held on September 16, 2007 between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Winterholme, 79 Rennie’s Mill Road. Please bring your memories to the gathering.
DOLLMONT, Genevieve (nee Conway), October 14, 1938 – Passed peacefully away at the Labrador Health Center on September 4, 2007 in her 68th year after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family, of Goose Bay. Predeceased by her husband Charlie, infant son Gerard, parents Bridget and Dennis, and sisters Peg and Kit. Left to mourn with many fond memories her daughter Paula Trotter (Chris), sons Charles (Emily) and Mike; cherished grandchildren Mitchell, Katie, Dominique and Colton; sisters Marie Lewis (Bren), Dolores and Ann; brothers Tim Conway (Lorraine) and Pad Conway (Ann) . FINCH, Janet Mary “Jennie” (nee Monck) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, Janet Finch in her 95th year. Janet was the last surviving member of the family of John Daly Monck and Bridget Monck (nee Hyde) of St. John’s. Predeceased by husband George, son William, grandson Rodney Finch. Leaving to celebrate her long life are daughters: Helen O’Neill (John), Vera Grant (Andrew), Paula Hubley (Robert), Esther Lawlor (Peter), Margaret Adams (Gerald), Alice Field (Fred), Toni Murphy (Henry) and Mary Hammond; sons Robert (Susan) and James (Carol); twenty-nine grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends in Canada and the United States. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Thursday from 10 a.m. - noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Parish. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. FLEET, Isaac J. – Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Mercy Home, in the presence of his family on September 5, 2007, Isaac J. Fleet, aged 76 years. Predeceased by his daughter Eleanor, 1975; son-in-law Carl Myers, 1994 and great-grandson Mitchell, 2006. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 53 years Violet; daughters Mary Fleet (Paul Adams), Dorothy Aylward (Clarence Fillier) and Cathy Myers (George Sawers); sons John (Crystal Tilley) and David (Denise); grandchildren Nicole and C.J. Myers, David and Abigail Fleet, Ryan, Sarah and Kiara Fleet; as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, on Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., on Friday from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. 12 noon. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2007 from West End Baptist Church with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. INKPEN, Gilbert French – Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, aged 92 years. Predeceased by his first wife, Catherine Sparkes and son Peter; his second wife Jean Brown and stepson Reginald Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law Muriel Luscombe (Gordon), Jeanette Handrigan (Ches) and Dorothy Smith (Harold) . He leaves to mourn his daughter Doris Baker (Leslie); stepdaughter Gillian Brown and daughter-in-law Pamela Brown; three grandchildren Stephanie Baker, Johanna Brown and Daniel Brown. Also mourning his passing as well are a number of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to the dedicated and loving staff at Elizabeth Towers who cared so well for Gilbert during the past years and to the very knowledgeable and dedicated staff at the Miller Centre who eased everyone through these last days. KENNEDY, Shirley L. (Hindy) – Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Leonard A. Miller Centre in the presence of her family, Shirley Kennedy, age 61 years. Predeceased by her husband John; parents Newman and Sadie Hindy. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, two daughters: Sheri (Michael Pickard) and Christina (Ken Hall); three special grandchildren: Ryan, Molly and Mackenzie; brothers-in-law: Robert Kennedy (Judy) and Bill Kennedy (Daphne); sister-in-law Linda Whalen (Henry); aunts: Dorothy Hindy of St. John’s and Mildred Martin of Sault Ste. Marie; special friends: Brenda and Bob Mercer as well as numerous other family and friends. MASON, Catherine (nee Nolan) – Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, Catherine Mason in her 83rd year of Avondale. Predeceased by her parents, husband John, two sons, two daughters. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters: Doreen (John) Boland, St. John’s; Bernadine Mason, Toronto; Christine (Tony Whelan), Avondale; Hilda (Vince Morriarity), Marysvale; her sons John (Juanita), Bay Roberts; Tony, Edmonton; her step daughter Geraldine (Walter Walsh), Holyrood; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one special granddaughter, Toni-Marie; three sisters Peg McGrath, Avondale; Mary Frances Davis, Clarenville; Geraldine Grayson, Toronto; sister-in-law Anna Nolan, Avondale; and a large number of nieces, nephews and a circle of extended family and friends including her two special friends Catherine Fewer and Marion Costigan. PARSONS, John A. (Jack) – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, John A. Parsons aged 93 years. Predeceased by his parents Frances and Harvey, sister Lucy Pope, brother Edward (Leah) and brother-in-law Harvey Williams. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Caroline (Carrie); sister Frances Williams, brothers-in-law Douglas Pope and Robert Parsons (Eva), sister-in-law Marion Smith (Roy, deceased); many nieces, nephews and close friends.
