HAYWARD, Peggy (nee Cooper) – Passed suddenly away on Sunday, September 2nd, 2007. Peggy Hayward aged 52 years. Leaving to mourn her husband of 34 years Con Hayward; two sons: Joey (Pamela) and Scott (Ann); one daughter: Connie (Mark deceased); three grandchildren: Lucille, Ashley and Steven; parents: Jim and Cynthia Cooper; brothers: Tony (Debbie) and their children Catie and Sam, and Terry (Michelle) . Also a large circle of aunts, uncles, family, friends and co-workers at Scotiabank. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home 328 Hamilton Ave. on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.. on Thursday, September 6, 2007 from Wesley United Church. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. KEEPING, William John “Bill” – 61, Black River Lake, Annapolis Valley, passed away on September 2, 2007, in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in St. John’s, NL, he was a son of the late William Thomas and Mabel Keeping. Bill worked with his father in the insurance business until his retirement in 1995. He is survived and fondly remembered by wife, Daphne; sons, Randy (Theresa), Scott (Beth), Gregory; special grandchildren, Kyle, Noel and Maggie; sister, Doreen (Wayne) Wells; brother Derek (Sally) Keeping. Cremation has taken place under the care of Serenity Cremation and Funeral services. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date. Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation, 150 Exhibition St., Kentville. The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and doctors at Valley Regional Hospital, the VON, Ambulatory Chemotherapy Staff, especially Tanya for her guidance. LEWIS, Mary Frances – Passed away in the presence of her family at St. Clares Hospital, on September 2, 2007, Mary Lewis of St. Shott’s, aged 78 years. Predeceased by husband Bill, father George Finlay, mother Madeline (McNeil) Finlay, step-mother Elsie (Molloy), brothers Tom and Philip Finlay, sister Josephine and grandson John Molloy. Leaving to mourn daughter Marie (Basil), sons Kevin (Brenda) and Brian (Marie), 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sisters Anna, Elizabeth (Ron), Theresa (Peter), Regina (Fabian), Barbara (John), brother David (Cee), sisters-in-law Rita Finlay and Marie Finlay, brother-in-law Harris Bowering and a large circle of relatives and friends, especially her very dear friend Bride Fitzgerald. McCARTHY, Madeline (nee Nolan) – Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Centre on September 2, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents, as well as brothers: Larry, Stan and Jack and sister Maude. Leaving to mourn, her loving husband of 43 years Gerald, daughter Joan (Jim); adored grandchildren: Kathaleen and Benjamin, sister Mary, brother Frank of Montreal; Sister Teresa Cornely of Ottawa, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. MORGAN, Florence (nee Smith) – Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre. St. John’s, on Monday September 3, 2007. Florence Morgan aged 67 years. Predeceased by parents: Harvey and Ella Smith; and brothers Raymond and Harvey. PENDER, James Joseph – Passed away suddenly at his home in Kilbride on Sunday, September 2, 2007, James Joseph Pender, aged 74 years. Predeceased in 1997 by daughter Nancy Howlett, her husband Danny and grandchildren Erin and Gregory. Jim was a Korean War Veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 1. Leaving to mourn his devoted and loving wife of 52 years Anita (Cheeseman) and children; Mary (Roy), Jim (Barbara), Debbie (Bas), Michele, Bob (Linda), Kevin (Rhoda) and Cathy (Craig) . Thirteen grandchildren: Darlene, Kira, Courtney, Jamie, Nicholas, Sarah, Mallory, Jodie, Nicholas, Vanessa, Madison, Sean and Haley; three great-grandchildren: Summer, Kaitlin and Kyle, and a large number of relatives and friends. WALBOURNE, Andrew – Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on September 1, 2007, Andrew Walbourne, aged 55 years. Predeceased by his wife Ann Marie (nee Kane) Walbourne and parents Andrew and Nora (nee Donahue) Walbourne.
