HAPGOOD, Mildred Jane (nee Legge) – Passed peacefully away on August 29, 2007 at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, in the presence of her family, Mildred Jane Hapgood, aged 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Thomas, infant daughter Laura, sisters Annie and Ina, brothers Lewis and Caleb. Leaving to mourn daughters Daphne (Peter Hiscock), Pearl (Sam Bromley), Diane (Roger Hollahan), Debbie (Terry Chafe); sons Winston (Eileen), Ches (Marie); thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, special niece Geraldine Legge (Ron), and a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thank-you to St. Clare’s 7 East staff and the staff of the Hoyles-Escasoni Transition Unit. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. HILLIARD, Margaret (October 22, 1950 - August 29, 2007) – God and his angels have called Margaret (Margie) home to be with her devoted and loving parents Jack and Mary Ellen Hilliard. Margie passed away in hospital in the presence of her loving family, age 56 years. Margie’s special needs during her lifetime have been a true blessing to us. Her life was filled with giving love and happiness to all who knew her. We will miss her beautiful blue eyes and warm disposition. Her passing will leave a void in our hearts that will never be filled. She will be sadly missed by her sister, brother-in-law and brother Bernie and Ken Schabell and Alfred Hilliard of Jerseyside, NL with whom she resided; sister Angela Durrell (Wayne), Maine; brothers: Percy (Nancy), Ontario, Joe Hynes (Helen), Victoria, B.C.; her niece Kim Brennan (Bill); nephews: Ted Schabell and Curtis Schabell (Chandra); and precious great-nieces: Kendra Perham and Bailey Schabell; special friends: Donna Greene, Diane White, and Theresa Thorne. In addition, Margie has many special nieces and nephews and extended family members living in Placentia, St. John’s and throughout Canada and the United States. Margie will be resting at Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia, on Thursday, August 30, 2007, from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. Service will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home on Saturday, September 1, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Placentia.
MYERS, Mary (Nee Dawe) – Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, on Monday, August 27, 2007, age 86 years of Kelligrews. Predeceased by her husband Michael 1979, daughters: Barb 1993, Arlene 1988, grandchildren: Wade 1984, Michelle 1992. EVELY, Theresa G., (nee George) – of Carbonear, who passed away peacefully at the Interfaith Citizens Home, Carbonear on Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Mrs. Evely was in her 86th year. She leaves to mourn her loving family: sons: Joseph (Judy) Evely, Fred (Sharon) Evely, Clarence (Lola) Evely; daughters: Florence (Gary) Voyce, Phyllis Lorent; sister Grace McCarthy. Predeceased by: husband Wilbert Evely; parents Matthew & Anne George; daughter-in-law Marlene Evely (nee Levitt); and a large number of other relatives and friends.
