LOCKYER, Chesley – Passed away on August 22, 2007, at age 50 years. He will be greatly missed by his long time friend Hubert; his sisters: Doreen, Arlene, Christine, Elsie, Melvina, Hilda, and Effie; his brothers: Wallace, Enos, Cecil, Wilfred and Roland; his brothers and sisters-in-law; his many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. Cremation has taken place.

MacNEIL, Margaret (Madge) (nee Aylward) – Following many years of living with Parkinson’s disease, Madge, formerly from Knights Cove, NL, passed away peacefully at her home in Toronto, on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at the age of 82. Predeceased by her husband MWO (Ret’d) Earle (Mac) MacNeil, CD in 1998. Leaving to mourn her five children: Donald (Eliza), Toronto, ON; Glenn (Michelle), Germany; Yvonne, Toronto, ON; Brian (Susan), Toronto, ON; Patrick, Toronto, ON; also leaving to mourn 7 grandchildren: Joanne, George, Mandy, Scott, Emilie, Myriam and Keith; one great grandchild, Georghia; one sister, Nellie Dicks (Michael), St. John’s, NL; and as well her dear friend and companion Carole Travis, Toronto, ON; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Service to be held on August 30, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at St. Theresa’s Parish, 120 Mundy Pond Road, St. John’s, NL.
MAHER, William Maurice – Sept. 4, 1917 – Aug. 24, 2007. Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, 11 days short of his 90th birthday, William Maurice (Bill) Maher. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary (Hutchings) Maher on June 15, 1999. Also predeceased by his parents, James and Annie (Healey) Maher, brothers: James and Kevin Maher, sisters: Madeline Withers, Isabella Redmond, Sarah Murphy, Anna Reynolds, Agnes Eddy and Florence Connors. Leaving to mourn and giving thanks for his long and wonderful life his devoted children: Loretta (Shaun) Dobbin, Loyola (Bernice) Maher, Margaret Ann (Tom) Jackson, James (Jacqueline Turner) Maher; his grandchildren: Karolyn Dobbin (Christopher Walker), Karen Dobbin-Williams (Greg Williams), Colleen Dobbin (Michael Gambin), Susan Legge (Greg), Michael Maher (Robin), Bill Eaton (Shu-min), Jeremy Eaton, Sarah Eaton (Chris Rodden), Emily Eaton, David Maher, Kevin Maher and Ellen Maher, great-grandchildren: Allison Anstey, Noah, Ian and Matthew Williams and Emily Legge. Also leaving to mourn his dear sisters Angela (George) King in Dunville, Rosemary (Gus) Kenny in Corner Brook, and Loretta Hecht in Iowa; his sisters-in-law: Lorraine Maher, Catherine Brennan, Esther Costello, Agnes Hutchings PBVM, Blanche Hutchings, Teresa Hutchings and Joan Hutchings and a wide circle of nieces and nephews and other relatives. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Saturday from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. HOLLOWAY, Winnie (nee Vincent) – Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, Winnie Holloway of Dunville, age 80 years. Predeceased by loving husband Alvin and sisters, Emily and Beryl. Leaving to mourn daughters: Rosalind Deyholos (Richard), Janice Winsor (Garry), Beth Holloway (Pam Barry); and darling grandson Andrew; brothers and sisters: Bea Howse, Fred and Audrey Vincent, Marie Stead, Levina and Bruce Neal, Austin and Shirley Day, Eric and Marion Vincent, Pearce and Sylvia Vincent; special ‘sister’ Jean Stoodley; and numerous relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at home on her 92nd birthday, Monday, August 20, 2007, Nita Margaret March (Pitcher) of Green’s Harbour, Trinity Bay; long time teacher and former school principal. Predeceased by her loving husband Victor; sister Alma Forsey; brother Robert; sister-in-law: Mina Clarke and Gladys Fradsham. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her children: Thomas (Alvina), Clarke (Judy) and Barbara Hodder; son-in-law Oliver Hodder; grandchildren: Chantal (Jason Noseworthy), Eben (Livia), Victor (Tracie), Andrea, Douglas (Amber Efford), Margaret (Tom Carew), Victoria and Catherine Forsey; precious great-grandson David; special friend, Mrs. Doris Cumby; also lovingly remembered by a large circle of other relatives and friends. MAUNDER, Leslie Campbell (Cam) – World War II Veteran, Royal Navy (1940-1946) . Passed peacefully away at the Leonard A. Miller Centre on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, Cam Maunder, age 85. Predeceased by his parents, Fred and Ellen Maunder and brother Harry. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 62 years, Sheila; son Brian (Eleanor), Barrie, ON; daughters: Eileen Walsh (Bob), Ottawa and Lesley McMullen (Gary), Amherst, NS; grandchildren: Christopher, Janiece, Natasha Chin (Mario), Michelle Cole (Andrew), Heather Haines (Mike), John; and great-grandchild Sophia Cole; sister Ruth Marshall (Cyril), Brockville, ON; brother Ivan (Patricia), St. John’s; sister-in-law Ellie Maunder, St. John’s; three special cousins residing in England and Holland and a large circle of other relatives and friends. MELVIN, Gladys – Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center on Saturday, August 11, 2007, Gladys Melvin, aged 87 years. Predeceased by her husband Norman in 1987 and son, James in 1986. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons: William (Judy), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL and Bruce (Elizabeth) of St. John’s, NL; daughters: Judy (Stuart King) of Gander, NL, Eda (Bertram Harding) of Lewisporte, NL and Roberta (Andy Brake) of Deer Lake, NL; brothers: Duncan (Mabel Nicholas) of Deer Lake, NL and Albert Nicholas of Deer Lake, NL; along with fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as a large number of other family and friends.
