ROCHE, Rose – Passed peacefully away, in the presence of her family, at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, Rose Roche of Freshwater, P.B. (formerly of Argentia) - age 91 years. Predeceased by her husband James, daughter Imelda Connolly, grandson Michael McInnis, brothers Richard and Patrick Cleary, sisters Mary Bowden and Madonna Cleary. Leaving to mourn are her sons: Austin (Emily) Roche, Freshwater; Richard (Mary) Roche, Chamberlains; daughters: Rosemary (George) McInnis, Syracuse, N.Y.; Ellen Wojdylak, Placentia; Donna (Joe) Greene, Placentia. Twelve grandchildren; James Roche, Melinda Mullaley, Michelle Barkins, Scott McInnis, Rick Wojdylak, Shawn Wojdylak, Marsha Hickey, Lisa Hunt, David Roche, Glen Greene, Darrell Greene and Melissa Greene; eleven great grandsons and five great granddaughters. Brother: Andrew (Rose) Cleary, Southeast; sister-in-law Winnie Cleary, Southeast. Also, numerous nieces and nephews and their families, other relatives and friends. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, October 1 and 2. WHITTEN, Iris (nee Crane) – September 25, 1926 - September 30, 2007 - With great sadness the family announces the passing of a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and aunt at the Escasoni Home, St. John’s. Predeceased by her husband Cyril (1997), parents John W. and Emma Crane (Upper Island Cove), sister Gertie Mercer, sister-in-law Olive, brothers-in-law Leander Mercer and Herb Pippy. Left with fond and loving memories are her children and grandchildren Larry and Penny, Gerry and Barb (Christopher, Steven (Sara), Karen), Ed and Jo-Anne (Julie, Susan), Wayne and Cathy (Michael), Randy and Margaret (Shawn, Scott and their mother Jean), David and Cathy (Leanne, Michelle), Tom and Susan (Tyler, Kyle), Rick, Ann Marie and Glen (Amanda, Katie and their father Ron Mercer); brothers Joe, Edward and wife Marina, Ralph and wife Phyllis and Clyde and wife Becky, sisters Susie Pippy and Jean Peach (John) . ASH, Margaret (Ford) – Passed away at her home on Bell Island after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, September 30, 2007, Margaret Ash (Ford), age 77. Predeceased by her husband Albert and her daughter Nicky. Leaving to mourn her four sons: Rick (Maxine), Johnny (Sonia), Jeff (Amanda), Dean (Darlene); four daughters: Carla (Joan), Pam (Wayne), Joanne (Joe), Mandy (Scott); one sister Loretta; five brothers: Bill (Joyce), Rev (Kay), Bart (Helen), Raymond (Agnes) and Eddie. As well as nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a huge circle of family and friends. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home, Bell Island on Monday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 12 noon - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 2 p.m. in St. Michael’s Parish, Bell Island. BLUNDON, Frank – Passed peacefully away at the Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre on Monday, October 1, 2007, Frank Blundon of Bay de Verde, age 83 years. Predeceased by parents: Daniel and Annie; sons: Glenn and Earl. Leaving to mourn: his loving wife of 65 years, Olga; five sons: Donald (Shirley), Carson (Annette), Raymond (Alma), Daniel (Nancy) and Frank; two daughters: Evelyn (Rick) Riggs and Annie (Leslie) Bursey; sister Joyce Vey and son Barry; brothers-in-law: Eric (Vimy) Blundon and Donald Blundon; sister-in-law: Florence Noble; nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends.
