O'NEIL, Colin- Suddenly, Monday, August 6, 2007, at the age of 51, at his summer residence in Newfoundland. Beloved husband of Penney. Loving father of Shawn. Caring brother to Bill (Emilie), Ron (Connie) and Ann (Don Meharrie) . Predeceased by his daughter Amanda, his parents Bill and Nancy and his brother Jack (Eleanor) . Dear brother-in-law of Perry Fry of Kanata and Peter Fry of St. John's, NL and son-in-law of Immanuel Fry of St. John's, NL. OXFORD, Shirley- Passed away suddenly in St. John's, on July 11th, 2007, Shirley Oxford, formerly of Gander, in her 62nd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Rick (Juanita), Susan (Randy), Kimberley (Mark), Dean (Jewel), companion, Alex, mother, Nancy, brothers: Gordon (Juanita), Davis (Sandra), Dennis (Carol) and sister, Dale. Shirley was the proud grandmother of Hillary, Emily, Jacob, Hannah, Chad and Christopher. Funeral service was held on July 13th at Barrett's Chapel with Captains Anthony and Yvonne Ledrew officiating. Interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery on Blackmarsh Road, St. John's.
PEARCE, Austin- Passed away peacefully after a short illness on August 12th, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre. Mr. Austin Pearce, age 73 years. Predeceased by his wife Daphne in 1993. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his three children: daughter Sharon O'Toole (John), two sons, Glen and Greg (Denise) and sister Ann O'Grady. Also leaving behind five grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. By Austin's request cremation has taken place with Inurnment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd. It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Rice announce her passing on August 15, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre with her loving family at her side. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank Rice; her parents, John and Isabelle Butler; her brother Patrick Butler and her sister Ann Sheppard. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories, her thirteen children: Bernice (Doug Morrissey), Gerry (Carol), Hal (Leona), Paul, Ken (Dolores), Francis Jr., Derrick (Gerri), Chris (Christine), Sandra (Rick Tucker), Mary (Gerard McDonald), David (Shelley), Marlene (Donny Cahill), Karen (Darryl Pike); twenty-two grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters: Agnes Murphy and Mary Kavanagh; brothers: Gerald (Helen), Bill (Marie), Jim (Mary) and Gordon; sisters-in-law: Ann Rice and Gertrude Butler and a large circle of family and friends. THORNE, Pansy M.- Passed peacefully away at the Grand Falls - Windsor Health Care Centre on August 15th, 2007, Pansy M. Thorne, age 79 years. Predeceased by husband Robert and son Orvan. Left with loving memories are sons: Fred (Betty) of Buchans, Jerry (Kara) of Lloydminister, AB. Daughters: Louise (Bruce) Tilley of Buchans, Vera (Bernard) Quinlan of Buchans, Sheila (Sean) Power of St. John's, special friend Tom West; sisters: Daisy (Harry) Wareham of Gander, Annie (Harrison) Woodman of Mount Pearl, Marie Hoskins (Ross) Rowe of New Harbour, Myrtle (Abssie) Reid of Islington, Verley (Garfield) Reid of New Harbour, Julie (Edgar) Higdon of New Harbour, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. TURNER, Kathleen (Kay) (nee Bloodworth) - Died peacefully on August 14th, 2007 in the presence of her son, Dr. Neil Turner (Brenda) at Ocean Pond. Kay was born in England in 1908 and is predeceased by her husband Charles Edward. Kay also known as Mum, Nan and GiGi (great-grandmother) leaves granddaughters: Laurie Twells (Alex) and children Louise, Jack and Amelia, Lesley MacKay (Jamie) and children Victoria, Meg, David and Elizabeth, Donna Hickman (Chris), children Thomas and Alex, grandson Mark Turner, as well as nieces and nephews in England. Kay enriched us all with her passion for golf, flowers, painting, bridge and lemon meringue pie. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Kay's life is planned for Sunday, August 19th at 2 pm, at 11 Inverness Place, St. John's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vera Perlin Society, P.O.
