Rowena Quinton
(April 10, 1930 - June 5, 2011)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rowena Quinton (Halvorsen) announce her peaceful passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care facility on Sunday June 5, 2011, at the age of 81 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her 8 sons: Peter of Ontario, Gary (Val) of Corner Brook, Lloyd (Wanda) of Corner Brook, Byron (Arthur) of Australia, Derek (Paul) of Ontario, Jeff (Claudia) of Texas, Rob (Vicki) of Corner Brook and Craig (Amelia) of Ontario; 7 daughters: Karen McIsaac (Gerry) of Ontario, Marjorie Buckland (Yvon) of Ontario, Gloria Jones of Alberta, Gaye Kubicz of Corner Brook, Debra Chamaa of Ontario, Cynthia Burke (John) of New Mexico and Vicki Feener (Dean) of Georgia; 28 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; special Aunt Eliza Porter of Corner Brook, sisters-in-law; Effie Quinton of Corner Brook, Blanche Bellefontaine of New Brunswick, brother; Henry Halvorson of New Zealand and Gary Lemoine (Tish) of Calgary as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years; Lloyd William Quinton (2005), her parents Henry & Marjorie Halvorsen, and her brother; Gordon, her sons-in-law; Kevin Jones, Victor Kubicz. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 10a.m. – 12 noon. Funeral service will be held at Salvation Army Temple, O’Connell Drive on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 4 p.m. with Majors Goudie officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment to take place at a later date. A expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Daffodil Place.

Isaac Charles Benoit
(March 6, 1936 - June 4, 2011)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isaac Charles Benoit announce his passing at St. Claire’s Hospital, St, John’s on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the age of 75 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mary White, his children; Dorraine (Sandy) Hickey of Benoit’s Cove, Jackie (Charles) Gallant of McIvers, Von (Ed) Mitchell of Sudbury, Vange (Ossie) Brown of Hare Bay, and Adam White (Bonnie Sheppard) of Lark Harbour, his grandchildren; Brandon, Chelsey, Kristy, Kayla, Ossie, Bradley, Maria, Eddie, Bobby, Meagan, Morgan, great grandchild; Little Miss Katie, his brothers; Ben (Rita) Benoit, Pius (Linda) Benoit, his sisters; Margaret (Jack) Hackett and Rita (Phonse) O’Connell, brothers-in-law Tony Connolly, Joseph Bourgeois, sisters-in-law; Margaret Benoit, and Alice Benoit as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; William & Mary Benoit, brothers; Frank, Nick, Bill, Felix, Pius, sisters; May Bourgeois & Della Connolly, great grandson; Jakob. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Benoit’s Cove on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 10: 30 a.m. with Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment to follow at church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Ronald J. McMaster
(December 6, 1953 - June 12, 2011)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald J. McMaster announce his sudden passing on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the age of 57 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife; Sherry, his daughter; Rhonda (Mark), his beloved dog; Ting-Ting, his brother; Bill McMaster (Joy), sister; Dianne (Barry) Robertson, nieces; Molly, Cheri (Dan) Robertson, Charlenne (Mike) Sutherland, nephews; Jamie (Dawn), Cory (Farrah), grand nieces; Hannah, Mia & Olivia, grand nephew; Hayden, parents-in-law; Hector & Eva Prosper, brother-in-law; Wayne (Renee) Prosper as well a large circle of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; John & Ferne McMaster. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at the First Pentecostal Church, Premier Drive on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Joy officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, memorial donations may be made to the Bay of Islands SPCA.

COOK, Charlotte "Lottie" V. (nee Hammond) – Passed peacefully away on April 21, 2005 at the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Centre, Lottie Cook, age 88 years. Predeceased by her parents, John and Elizabeth; husband Ronald; sisters: Doris and Rose Dalzell and brother Reginald. Leaving to mourn sons: David (Marion), Lloyd (Doris), Wayne (Helga), Bridgewood, NS, Melvin (Sharon), Cambridge, ON; daughter Brenda (Jack), Ottawa, ON; sisters: Carrie Pynn, London, ON, Jessie Squires; brothers: Albert, Eric (Ruby), Richard (Freda), Max (Joy), Harold (Millie); 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Friday from 7-9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Military Road. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. Flowers gratefully received or donations in her memory may be made to the Newfoundland Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation or St. Thomas' Church. - 04/22/05

DWYER, Edward (Finny) – Passed suddenly away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on April 20, 2005, age 68 years of Bell Island. Predeceased by his sister Mary. Left to mourn with loving memories, his wife Patricia; four daughters: Diane Dwyer (Jorge), Debbie Dwyer (Joe), Tracy Dwyer (Mac), all at Cambridge, Ontario, Terri-Lynn Crane (Donnie), St. Philips; three brothers: Mike (Catherine, Bernard (Catherine), Terry (Nora); three sisters: Clarice San-Austin, Stephanie Dooling (Stanley), Florence Clancy (Jack); three grandchildren: Shay, Dylan, Michell; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. KEAN, Miriam – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, Miriam Kean, aged 79 years. Predeceased by her daughter, Eileen Grenning. Leaving to mourn her husband, Gordon Kean; sons: Charles Kean (Wanda), Gordon Kean (Cathy), Bob Kean (Fern), Gerry Kean (Cheryl); daughter Evelyn Scott (Tony); son-in-law Charlie Grenning; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Bob Sooley; special niece Nellie Mate; sisters-in-law: Maude Woolridge, Dorothy Fowler, Evelyn Smith (Ralph), Jean Hunter and Margaret Kean; also a number of relatives and friends. A very special thank you to St. Clare's Mercy Hospital staff of: Emergency, fourth floor and CCU. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday from 7-10 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.; and then on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service to be held from Gower Street United Church on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. OLIVER, Cecil – Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, Cecil Oliver of North Harbour, aged 82 years. Predeceased by his wife Evelyn (2001); daughter Dallas (2001) and son Robert Dale. Left with fond and loving memories, daughters: Rosalind Newhook (Jonas), Arnold's Cove, Yvonne Loder (Lee), North Harbour, Maxine Slade (Harvey), North Harbour; son Edwart (Sandra), Hodge's Cove; brother Fraser (Stella), Burnt Point, Conception Bay; grandchildren: James Loder, Bradley Newhook, Katherine Beck, Selma Harnet, Krista Slade, Michele Oliver; and 6 great-grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains will be resting at the United Church in North Harbour. Funeral to take place at 2:00 p.m. on April 23, 2005 from the United Church in North Harbour.
