GREELEY, Cyril Gordon Sr. – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Monday, August 20, 2007, age 70 years. Predeceased by his mother and father, Evelyn and Gordon and brother Bobby. Left with fond and loving memories, sons: Cyril (Dot and grandchildren Michael and Amanda) and Robert and their mother Liz and grandmother Catherine Pottle and the Pottle family; sisters: Joan (Ron), Violet (Gerry), Cynthia (Joe) and Jean and family; brothers: Clar (Yvonne), Ches (Mary), Joe (Mary) and Leonard (Debbie); as well as many other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the staff of the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex and St. Clare’s Hospital. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Monday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

KING, James Scott — of Carbonear, who passed away suddenly at the Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear, on Saturday, August 18th, 2007. Scott was in his 43rd year. He leaves to mourn his loving family: wife Lorraine King; children Dionne, Jessey, Holly, Kristian, Jared, Sarah-Anne (Matthew Harnum); sisters Valerie (Dave) Barnes, Annette King, Brandon King; brother Paul King; brother-in-law: Bruce Hayworth, Lloyd (Karen) Hayworth and family; granddaughter Abigail; parents James and Anne King; grandmother Margaret King; uncles Ned (Winnifred) King, Tom (Barb) Murphy, Mike (Ethel) Murphy, Fred (Bernice) Murphy, Jerome (Joan) Murphy; aunts Sharon Butt, Edna (Rod) Chipman, Emily (Lawrence) Babb, Catherine (Will) Rose, Patricia Kelly; great-aunt Catherine (Kitty) Penney; ex-wife Jackie Clarke. Predeceased by Frank (Monica) Thistle, Lee (Lillian) Priddle, sister Mary King; grandparents Patrick King, Fred and Frances Murphy; parents-in-law Rueben and Audrey Hayworth and a large number of other relatives and friends. The funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Carbonear on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at SLADE’S FUNERAL HOME, POWELL DRIVE, CARBONEAR between the hours of 10:30 – 12 noon, 2-5 p.m. and 7-9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scott King Memorial Fund. For any further information please call Slade’s Funeral Home, Carbonear at 596-1212. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Slade’s Funeral Homes, serving Carbonear, Bay Roberts and areas.

O’BRIEN, Mary – Bell Island. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on August 19, 2007 in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Bill in 1992 and her daughter Patricia in 1964. Leaving to mourn her daughters: Carmel and Mary; four sons: Bill and John at Ontario and Vince and Jim at Bell Island. Special grandchildren: Chris at St. John’s and Jackie and Sheldon at Ontario, Clarence, Liz, Fred and John at Ontario; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Carmel at Halifax and Agnes at Goose Bay and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment in the R.C. Cemetery, Bell Island.

PRIDDLE, Jack – Passed peacefully away on Monday, August 20, 2007. Predeceased by his father Abel Priddle; sisters: Bride Barry and Janet Milley; brothers: Bern and Nelson Priddle. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Verlie; children: Jackie Thompson (Steve); Nelson (Kristel), Denise Collins (Robert); grandchildren: Haley, Lucas, Chloe, Emma, Robert and Richard; his mother Ferna Priddle; sisters: Mary Efford (Harold), Marg Penny (Val) and Kay Moores; brother Noel Priddle; also nephews, nieces and many friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Tuesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 2 p.m. from The Carnell Memorial Chapel. Donations to the family are gratefully accepted.

SMITH, Emma Agnes (nee Warren) – Feb. 24, 1931 - Aug. 20, 2007, Passed peacefully away with faith and surrounded by her loving children at the Health Sciences Centre, Agnes Smith of Chapel Arm. Awaiting her in heaven husband, Arthur, parents Charles and Martha Warren, sister, Lilias, brothers, Ernest, Harry, Raymond and Norman. Leaving to mourn with treasured memories, Marilyn (Clayton Green), Whitbourne, Harry (Betty), Little Hr. East, Nina (Roger Dawe) Glendale, Arizona and Beverley (Brian Humphries), Mt. Pearl. Nan to Grandchildren, Gerry (Lia), Dana, Rodney (Amy), Christopher (Angela), Corrina, Craig, Jeremy and Bradley. Grand Nanny to Great grandchildren Amber, Zachary, Seth, Keelan, Kyle, Brianna and Trinty Emma. Sisters; Dorothy (Max Row), Nina (Reg Andrews), and Brothers; Wilson (Margaret), Charles (Marjorie) . Sisters - in -law, Shirley Smith, Mary Warren, Barbara Warren, Nellie Peddle, and Brother-in-law, Gordon Newhook. Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Resting at Holloway's Funeral Home, Whitbourne on Tuesday 9:30 am - 12 noon. St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Chapel Arm 2 pm - 10 pm. Wed 10 am untill time of funeral. Funeral to take place at 2:00 pm on Wed. Aug 22, 2007 from St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Chapel Arm. Interment at the Bethel United Church Cemetery, Norman's Cove In Lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation.

WILLIAMS, Patrick Joseph — Passed peacefully away in the presence of loving family at his residence on Sunday, August 19, 2007, Patrick Williams aged 80 years. Predeceased by parents: William and Mary; sisters: Mary Browne, Marg Menchinton and Gertrude and brothers: Jim, Harry and Robert. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 52 years: Margaret (nee Vincent); daughters: Yvonne (Wayne), Rosalind Anthony (Tony), Beverly Marsh (Clifford), Sandra Houlihan (Gerard), Christine (George) and Denise (Darren); sons: Larry (Bernice), Ronnie (Wanda), Glen (Lorraine), Rodney (Cathy) and Keith; brother: Bernard (Edith), grandchildren and great-grandchildren and special pet: Wendy, as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thank-you to the doctors and nursing staff for all their care and compassion. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.. Funeral service will be held at St. Teresa’s Parish on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. COLLINS, Christina (nee Little) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family and friends on August 18, 2007. Predeceased by her parents Mildred and Herbert Little, brothers Ross and Everett Little, sister Hildred. Leaving to mourn son Todd (Karen) Collins and most precious granddaughter Molly, and many more family and friends. A special thanks to those who cared for her during her illness, she will remain loved in all our hearts. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. on Sunday from 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Monday 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 21 at 12 noon from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery on Blackmarsh Road.
