THORNE, Susie (nee Snelgrove) – Passed peacefully away at the Glenbrook Lodge on Friday, December 14, 2007, in the presence of her devoted and loving family, Susie Thorne of Torbay, and formerly of Lower Island Cove, at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Richard, brothers Henry (Lucy), Herbert, Bill (Fannie), Simeon and sisters Florence (George), Lizzy and Saddie (Peter) . Leaving to mourn daughters Shirley Thorne (Eddie), Marilyn (Moore) (Gus); son Cecil Thorne (Marion); grandchildren Corrissa (Tony), Mark (Shannon) and great-granddaughter Emma; brother Johnnie (Jessie) . Also leaving to mourn are many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A very special thank you to all the staff at Glenbrook Lodge (her special angels), who made Mom’s stay so pleasant. Special mention to Charlotte Cornish (roommate), who shred many happy hours together. To Major Granter, and all other Chaplains, who provided daily chapel services which she so enjoyed, a very big thank-you. Also to Rev. Dr. Bob Rowland and Deacon Gerald Hayes who visited Mom while at Glenbrook and St. Clare’s Hospital for providing her with spiritual support. While it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please be assured that your visits, phone calls and support was greatly appreciated. BARRETT, Regina Gloria – Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex, on November 15th, 2007, Regina Gloria Barrett, age 55 years. Predeceased by her father Lawrence (Lar) Fitzgerald. Leaving to mourn her daughter Jennifer (Scott) and Cyril; mother Betty Fitzgerald; three brothers: Wayne (Mary), Tony (Carol) and Larry; one sister Janice (Jim Phillips); special friends Ann, Deloris, Sandra; as well as other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 1081 Topsail Road, Mount Pearl, on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 7 - 9 p.m. and Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 10 a.m. from Holy Family Parish, Paradise. CHURCHILL, William Donovan (Don) – Entered into the joys of the presence of his Lord on November 13, 2007, age 89, at the L.A. Miller Centre, St. John’s. Predeceased by his devoted wife Jeanette. Leaving to cherish his life and faith, daughter Rosalind; son Rex (Hazel); granddaughters: Vicki MacDonald (Brandon), Kylie and Kezia and great-grandson, Elliot; sister Nellie Martin, extended family and friends. With many thanks to the palliative care staff at the Miller Centre for their “wonderful care”. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gideons are greatly appreciated. Lying at Vardy’s Funeral Home, Random Island with visitation on Thursday and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, 2 p.m. from the Central United Church with interment following at the United Church Cemetery, Weybridge.
COLLINS, Dr. Michael Anthony – Passed away suddenly in Coquitlam, BC on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, age 47 years. Predeceased by his father Gus Collins, February 10, 2007 and two infant brothers: Edward, 1957 and Stephen, 1962. Left with fond and loving memories, mother Elizabeth (nee Jackman); sister Brenda; brother Andy (Daphne), Winnipeg; as well as other family and friends. Cremation has taken place. DALEY, Laura (nee Butland) – February 14, 1931 - November 14, 2007 - Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family at the Palliative Care Unit, St. John’s, Laura Daley of St. Joseph’s, S.M.B., aged 76 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, husband of 49 years, Al (Aloysius); children: Ken (Caroline), Donna (Derm), Roy (Wanda), Randy (Jennifer) and Chris (Cauleen); grandchildren: Stephanie, Allison, Laurie, Justin, Cheryl, Brittany, Emily and Tyson; sisters: Marguerite and Catherine; brothers: Thomas, Michael (Patricia) and Dermot (Vera); sisters-in-law: Mildred Butland (Bernard), Mildred Butland (Steve), Marion Kenny and Ann Daley; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, special friend Angela Meaney and many other dear friends. Predeceased by her parents, Michael and Anastasia Butland and her brothers and sisters: Bridget, Bernard, Leo, Stephen and Sarah. Laura will be remembered by her family for her deep love and commitment and she will also be fondly remembered by her former students and coworkers at Enright Memorial School. FAUSTINO, Chad J. W. – Chad Joseph William Faustino, one day old, died Friday, November 2, at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence. He was the son of David and Dawn (Sullivan) Faustino of Fairhaven, Ma. He is survived by grandparents: William and Louise Sullivan of Long Pond, CBS, and Joseph and Marian Faustino; and great-grandmother, Maxine Faustino of Fairhaven, Ma.; uncles: Dean Sullivan of CBS, now in Brazil, and Jason Faustino of Fairhaven, Mark Nunes of Washington and Richard Nunes of New Bedford in USA and many other relatives. The gravesite service was held on Tuesday, November 6, at 10 a.m. in Cushing Cemetery in Mattapoisett, Ma.

Predeceased by spouse Allister Ledrew (1984) . Leaving to mourn sisters: Vera MacRae, Eileen (Angus) Willar; brother (Verbena) Hayter; five children: Madeline (Bill) Smith, David (Sylvia), Shirley (Tony) Quilty, Robert (Shelly) and Kimberley; also twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
