HALLETT, Mollie Amelia – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her Gully Pond Manor family on Friday, February 29, 2008, Mollie Amelia Hallett aged 88 years, formerly of Flat Island, Bonavista Bay. Predeceased by her husband Samuel Hallett. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Linda Keats (Wallace) of Kelligrews; grandson Sam Keats of Labrador City; brother Frank Samson (Joyce) of Catalina; also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and also on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and then on Monday from 10 a.m.-12noon. KAVANAGH, Ursula Marie – (nee Parsley) : Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at her son’s residence in Holyrood on Sunday, March 2, 2008, Ursula Kavanagh aged 85 years of Harbour Main. Predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Parsley, husband Patrick and infant son Kieran; Sisters - Catherine Ford, Sr. Nano Parsley and Sr. Mark Parsley; brothers Sam, Jack, Jim, William and Ned Parsley, and special friend Luke Dalton. Left with fond and loving memories are her five children: Patrick (Sarah) Ottawa; Mark (Mary Ann) Holyrood; Marie (Robert) St. John’s; Carmel (Jim) Holyrood and Margaret Rose (Late John Maher) Kilbride. Five loving grandchildren, Bobbi, Jimmy, Kate, Mairi and Jack, one sister - Sr. Luke Parsley (Presentation Convent, St. John’s) and a large circle of nieces and nephews. KING, John Charles “Charlie” – Passed peacefully away at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Saturday, March 1, 2008, Charlie King aged 75 years. Predeceased by parents: Ambrose and Flossie King and sister: Florrie Penney. Leaving to mourn are sons: Jeff (Jeanette Andrews) and Stephen (Lisa Wagner); daughter: Janet; brothers: Clayton (Evelyn) and Gerald (Cynthia); sister: Shirley LeGrow (Herb); four grandchildren: Stephen, Louise, Brian and Ethan, as well as Many other relatives and friends. MILLS, Leo Kenneth – aged 95 years, passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes on Friday, February 29, 2008. Predeceased by his wife Catherine, 2 infant children, James and Catherine and brother Pierce. Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories, are his daughter Elizabeth (Corey) Gill of Gander and granddaughter Catherine. He was a member of the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit #1808 during World War II. He will be remembered by a large circle of family and friends. He rested at Stacey’s Funeral Home in Gander, Friday 7-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services Monday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery in Gander. PEARCEY, Robert (Bob) J. – Passed suddenly away at home on Saturday, March 1, 2008, Robert J. Pearcey, at the age of 63. Predeceased by his son Tony and parents Margaret and Cecil. Leaving to mourn with precious memories his wife Lorraine; son Dan (Christine); daughter Yvonne (Mike); and precious granddaughter Samantha; brothers Cecil (Sandra), Randy (Marg), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends including his golfing buddies: Jim, Ted, and John. PENNEY, John David “Johnny” (February 12, 1989 - February 29, 2008) – Passed peacefully surrounded by a circle of love Johnny gained his wings and has taken his place next to Jesus in Heaven. Left to mourn and never forget Johnny's mommy Colleen Fitzpatrick; his sister Krystal Penney; his Mommy’s partner Wade Marusiak, Johnny’s father John Penney, his grandparents Leo and Sara Fitzpatrick and Mildred Penney. Johnny will be forever in the hearts of his second and third Mommies: Norma Connors (Rick West); Angela Vincent (Lester Hynes); as well as a vast group of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Johnny will be deeply missed by the students and staff of St. Matthew’s School in Cowan Heights, especially the teachers and program assistants of the Developmental Unit where Johnny was a student for thirteen years, Patricia Mercer, Clare Thorne, Sheila Flynn-Healey and Doug Merner. REID, Gwendoline – Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 1, 2008, Gwendoline Reid, aged 78 years. Predeceased by her parents: Gilbert and Charity Goosney; sisters: Catherine Goosney and Frances Galliott; brothers: Roland, Matthew and Gilbert; sisters-in-law: Edith and Ann Robinson and brother-in-law: George Galliott. Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 44 years Melvin; sister: Madeleine Penney (Max); sister-in-law: Elaine Goosney; brothers-in-law: Harris (Louise), Max and Ellis; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home 328 Hamilton Ave. on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. John the Evangelist Church, Topsail, date and time to be announced at a later date.
