PIKE, Margaret M. – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Saturday, February 17, 2007 Margaret Pike in her 95th year of Mount Pearl, formerly of Mount Carmel. Predeceased by parents: Patrick and Bridget Parrott, brother, Nicholas, sisters: Sadie McDonald, Kate Pendergast, Beth Cox, Susan Hill, Marie Wade, Theresa Wade and Mary Ann Wade. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, William of 69 years, sons: Ronald, Donald (Joan) St. John’s, John (Eleanor), Mount Carmel, daughters: Helena, St. John’s, Marg Dove, Toronto, special granddaughter, Trudy Pike, Edmonton, and Brenda and Karen, Toronto, six great-grandchildren, Toronto, sister, Hilda McDonald, Holyrood, numerous nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel. Visitation from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Monday. Her funeral will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 19th. 2007 from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Leaving to mourn, wife: Ruth; three daughters: Tanya Puddister (Gary Saunders) and Sheree (Craig) Walsh, both of Halifax, NS and Kerri-Lee (Scott) Bentley, Petawawa, ON; four sons: Ron (Joan), Kingston, ON, Glenn (Amanda), Belmont, NS, Darren (Ethel), Fort McMurray, AB and Chris (Jackie), Harbour Grace; 10 grandchildren: Blair, Matthew, Bradley, Kelly, Brittany, Chelsea, Jason, Stephanie, Harland and Heath; five sisters: Betty (Don) Bullock, Georgia, USA, Martha Murphy, St. John’s, Christine, Margaret and Mary, all of Toronto, ON; brothers-in-law: Ray (Bernice) Snow, Harbour Grace and Carson Taylor, St. John’s; special friend: Donna Callahan, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. REID, Helena Theresa – Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on February 17th, 2007, at the Health Sciences Center. Helena Theresa Reid, age 68 years. MANUEL, John – A memorial service for John Manuel of Corner Brook, who died in Mexico on March 4th, will be held on Saturday, April 12th, at 10:30 a.m. in Corner Brook, at the Roman Catholic Cathedral on Mount Bernard Avenue.
McKENNA, Kathleen Maude (nee Hurley) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on April 2, 2008, Kathleen McKenna, aged 91 years. Predeceased by husband James; sons Gerard, Kevin and Justin; daughters Maude and Isabelle. Leaving to mourn are sons Leo (Marina) and Jim; daughters Madeline (Andy), Bride (Doug) and Patricia; sister Geraldine; brother Pat; nephew Kevin; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Parish, Ashford Drive, Mount Pearl on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to be held in her hometown of Badger at a later date. O’REILLY, Jean (Jane) (nee Emberley) – Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, age 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Pat in 1980.
