PIKE, Margaret M. – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Saturday, February 17, 2007 Margaret Pike in her 95th year of Mount Pearl, formerly of Mount Carmel. Predeceased by parents: Patrick and Bridget Parrott, brother, Nicholas, sisters: Sadie McDonald, Kate Pendergast, Beth Cox, Susan Hill, Marie Wade, Theresa Wade and Mary Ann Wade. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, William of 69 years, sons: Ronald, Donald (Joan) St. John’s, John (Eleanor), Mount Carmel, daughters: Helena, St. John’s, Marg Dove, Toronto, special granddaughter, Trudy Pike, Edmonton, and Brenda and Karen, Toronto, six great-grandchildren, Toronto, sister, Hilda McDonald, Holyrood, numerous nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel. Visitation from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Monday. Her funeral will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 19th. 2007 from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the “Wakeroom Fund” or to a charity of one’s choice.

PUDDISTER, Capt. Ronald P. – Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, February 18, 2007, Capt. Ronald P. Puddister of Harbour Grace, age 71 years. Predeceased by parents: John and Violet, brothers: Capt. Mike and Angus, sisters: Barbara and Winne. Leaving to mourn, wife: Ruth; three daughters: Tanya Puddister (Gary Saunders) and Sheree (Craig) Walsh, both of Halifax, NS and Kerri-Lee (Scott) Bentley, Petawawa, ON; four sons: Ron (Joan), Kingston, ON, Glenn (Amanda), Belmont, NS, Darren (Ethel), Fort McMurray, AB and Chris (Jackie), Harbour Grace; 10 grandchildren: Blair, Matthew, Bradley, Kelly, Brittany, Chelsea, Jason, Stephanie, Harland and Heath; five sisters: Betty (Don) Bullock, Georgia, USA, Martha Murphy, St. John’s, Christine, Margaret and Mary, all of Toronto, ON; brothers-in-law: Ray (Bernice) Snow, Harbour Grace and Carson Taylor, St. John’s; special friend: Donna Callahan, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace and from where the funeral will take place on Wednesday, February 21 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. Inurnment to take place on Thursday, February 22 at 2 p.m. from St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Harbour Grace. Visitation hours at Noel’s Funeral Home are 10:30 a.m. - 12 noon, 2 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9:30 p.m. daily.

REID, Helena Theresa – Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on February 17th, 2007, at the Health Sciences Center. Helena Theresa Reid, age 68 years. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Eric Eason; son Paul Reid (Janet); daughter Judy Reid; and their father Charles Reid; sister Mercedes Ryan; the Eason family; and a large circle of loving relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Monday and Tuesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 21st, at Holy Family, time to be announced. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers kindly accepted or donation may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.

UPSHALL, Elizabeth V. (Ingram) – Passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 17, 2007 with her family at her bedside at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, Elizabeth Upshall, aged 86 years. Predeceased by infant son David. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 67 years, Samuel. Sons Maynard Upshall (Mary) and Willis Upshall (Joan) . Daughter Mabel Allen (Herbert) . Six grandchildren: Beverley Green (Fred Wiscombe), Don Upshall (Judy and son Devon), Holly Caul (Martin), Debbie Upshall (Peter Fahey), Vicki Gould (Jeff) and Nicole Piercey (Jamie) . Three great-grandchildren: Cassandra Green, Sara Upshall and Michelle Caul. Sister Georgina Bailey. Brothers: Lloyd Ingram, Freeman Ingram and Moses Ingram (Kathleen) . Sisters-in-law Hazel Ingram and Elsie Upshall. Brother-in-law Freeman Upshall, special friend and caregiver Minnie Beck. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Resting at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Little Harbour East. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 20 at 2 p.m. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Her gentle touch and loving smile will remain forever in our hearts.

DELANEY, Mary G. (Ryan) – Passed suddenly away on April 1, 2008 at the Health Science Complex, St. John’s, Mary G. Delaney (Ryan) . Predeceased by husband Philip October, 2006, mother and father Michael and Bride Ryan, brother Edward. Leaving to mourn with loving memories daughters Maria, Margaret Hodder (Dennis), Sheila Gould (Wayne), Pamela Crook (Lawrence), Wanda (Nick), Mary (Matt), Diane (Dwight); sons Stephen (Florence), Gerard (Shirley), Joseph (Trudy); seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters Kathleen Morrissey, Loretta (Frank McHugh); sister-in-law Marie Ryan; brothers-in-law Raymond Delaney (Una), Arthur; sisters-in-law Helen Stone (Jim), Helen Delaney, Virginia Delaney, Florence Delaney, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home, Bell Island on Thursday, April 3 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. and Friday, April 4 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Parish Bell Island. Interment to follow at R.C. Cemetery, Bell Island.

MANUEL, John – A memorial service for John Manuel of Corner Brook, who died in Mexico on March 4th, will be held on Saturday, April 12th, at 10:30 a.m. in Corner Brook, at the Roman Catholic Cathedral on Mount Bernard Avenue.

McKENNA, Kathleen Maude (nee Hurley) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on April 2, 2008, Kathleen McKenna, aged 91 years. Predeceased by husband James; sons Gerard, Kevin and Justin; daughters Maude and Isabelle. Leaving to mourn are sons Leo (Marina) and Jim; daughters Madeline (Andy), Bride (Doug) and Patricia; sister Geraldine; brother Pat; nephew Kevin; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Parish, Ashford Drive, Mount Pearl on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to be held in her hometown of Badger at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Barrett’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in Kathleen’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.

O’REILLY, Jean (Jane) (nee Emberley) – Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, age 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Pat in 1980. Leaving to mourn her sisters Margaret Ronayne, Ottawa and Mary Hope, Toronto; sister-in-law Betty Emberley, Scotland; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and special friends Evelyn Power and family. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Easter Seals.

BROWN, Jerrett – Passed peacefully away on February 17th, 2007 at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness, Jerrett Brown of St. John’s age 78. Leaving to mourn his devoted and loving wife Mary; only child Imelda (Philip Durdle); only grandchild P. J.; special nieces Sharon and Krystal Puddicombe, along with a large number of family and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Sunday 7 - 9 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service from Caul’s Chapel on Tuesday, February 20th at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
