British Navy Veteran World War II. Predeceased by his loving son Wayne; mother Celina and father William; sisters, Mary and Margaret; brothers, Jim and Peter. Leaving to mourn, his wife Mary; sons, Sam (Vilja), Billy (Margie), Henry (Kathy); daughters, Theresa Willis (Garry), Lucy Duke; brother Patrick (Eva); sister Nell (Edward); special brother-in-law Junior Howlett (Mary); sisters-in-law Doris Duke, Molly Duke; and brother-in-law Jack Horwood; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. McCLURE, Elizabeth (Betty) - Peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus, Saturday, October 19, 2002. Born in St. John`s, Newfoundland, July 14, 1917. Daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Simms; sister of Dr. Robert Simms and Dr. Douglas Simms, both of St. John`s, Newfoundland. Survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Rear Admiral Donald McClure, C.D. (RCN Ret`d); and five loved and loving children, Joan (Ed Ronsyn), David (Kathleen McMahon), Barbara (Gerry Stanton), Carol (Ray Woltman) and Christian (Paul Belanger). Cherished grandmother of Kelly Gillissie (Troy Finley), Jill Gillissie (Troy Rogala), Dan (Susan Witteveen), Krista and Julie McClure; Christopher (Suzanne Coffin), and Kerri-Lynn Stanton; Gregory and Heather Woltman, Michelle, Joey, Adam and Robbie Belanger. RYALL, James Francis (Pud) - 75, passed away peacefully in Halifax on October 19, 2002, surrounded by his loving family. Born in St. John`s, Newfoundland on December 3, 1926, he was the son of the late Mary Mercedes (Molly) Ryall (Bambrick) and James Francis Ryall. He worked as an electrical contractor all his life, up to his retirement in 1992. Along with his electrical trade, Frank was an accomplished carpenter and plumber and he passed on these skills to his sons. He was an avid sportsman and loved golfing, bowling, hockey, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. In his younger years, Frank played hockey for Mammy`s Bakery, St. John`s Nfld., winning several titles. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gladys (Dinn); eight sons, Nick (Linda), Francis, Noel (Joan), Sam (Barb), Leo (Lisa), David, Doug (Cathy), Sean (Danielle), all from Halifax Regional Municipality; ten daughters, Lorraine (Laurie), Valerie (Les), Debbie (Foster), Lori (Mike), Mary (Karl), Mercedes (Wyatt), Michele (Scott), Jackie (Rod), Tracey (Darren), all from Halifax Regional Municipality, and Gail (Bob), Ontario; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; one brother, David, Halifax; and two sisters, Mona (Mrs. James Hurley), Fall River, and Bernadette Schmidt, Cape Cod, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary (Mrs. Nick Mitchell) and Lorraine (Mrs. George Mitchell); and one brother Sam. Remains have been cremated. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday October 22 at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax. A memorial service will take place at St. Michael`s Roman Catholic Church in Spryfield on Wednesday, October 23, Father John Mills officiating. Interment at Sunrise Park cemetery, Hatchet Lake. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care unit at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax or the Canadian Cancer Society. Special thanks to the wonderful care given by palliative care nurses and especially to daughter/sister, Gail and daughter-in-law/sister-in-law, Cathy for taking such good care of Dad. SINNOTT, Patricia (nee Collins) - Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home, in the presence of her loving family, Patricia Sinnott, aged 96 years. Leaving to mourn her devoted husband, Stan; five children: Kathleen Metcalf and husband Howard of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; John and wife Susan of St. John`s; Andrea MacDonald and husband Allan of Montreal; Bill and wife Gerri of St. John`s; Margaret (Muffin) Williams and husband John of Mount Pearl. Also leaving to mourn thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Gus Sinnott, and sisters-in-law Dot Sinnott, Lillian Sinnott and Lillian Collins. Patricia is formerly of Placentia and was predeceased by her sisters: Irene (Sister Regis) and Kathleen and brothers William (Father Will Collins) and Benedict Collins. Left with fond and loving memories, her daughters, Jenny (Albion Humby) of Summerville, Phyllis (Max Pinsent) of Mount Pearl, Marcella (Wallace Furlong) of White Court, Alta.; son Job (Marilyn) of Mount Pearl; brothers, Harry Lane (Evelyn) of Toronto, Ont., William Lane of Summerville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a large number of relatives and friends. Miller Center, on April 7, 2003, two days after her 79th birthday. Predeceased by her first husband Patrick Flynn in 1990. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Bernard, who is residing at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home, her niece Mary Margaret Pine, nephews: John, Robert, Patrick and their families; step-sons: David Murphy (Betty), Wally Murphy (Sharon), Tim Murphy (Pat); step-daughters: Marilyn Healey (Glenn), Lorraine King (Kevin) and Carol Ann Hartery (Rod) and their families; Ann Gushue (her caregiver for the past six months); also other relatives and friends.
