BARNES, Carl Curtis - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Tuesday, October 15, 2002, Carl Curtis Barnes of Shoal Harbour in his 85th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Martha of 63 years; son Jim Barnes of Shoal Harbour; brother-in-law Austin Hollett (Thelma), Burin and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held on Friday, October 18, 2002 from Shoal Harbour United Church with interment at United cemetery, Shoal Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shoal Harbour United Church, Church Fund.

Predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen Moore; his parents: Fred and Margaret Moore; his brother, David. Left with fond and loving memories are his devoted children: Wayne (Mary), Brenda (Bob) Reader, Frederick Jr. (Maria), Michelle and Beverley; his grandchildren: Angela, Brandon, Brittany, Claudia and Robert; his brothers: Michael (Mary) Moore, Avondale, Joseph, AB, Daniel (Ylonde), QC; his sisters: Margaret Martin, Holyrood, Winnie, Boston, USA, Rosella Moore, Avondale; his sister-in-law, Angela (Moore) Woodford; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Dunphy`s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9:30 p.m. Funeral will take place on Monday, August 11, 2003, following 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial from Assumption Church, Avondale. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will be in Assumption cemetery, Avondale.

Leaving to mourn three daughters, Julia Sinel (Don); Dot Warren (Peter); Donna Perrin (Rene); two sons: Tom (Lorraine); Bob (Marg); fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Lydia Fowler (Charlie); Irene Batten (Sam); also, other relatives and friends. Resting at The James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews. Funeral to take place on Sunday, October 20 at 2 p.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap. Interment to follow at the Anglican cemetery, Church Road, Foxtrap. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to All Saints Church cemetery Fund, Foxtrap, or the L.O.L. #181 Star of Bethlehem Band.

Predeceased by his son, Gerard, his brother, George McDonald. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Minnie, his children: Madeline (John) Reichert, Springfield, Illinois, Eugene (Geraldine and Jennifer), Mt. Pearl, Jim (Dianne), Mt. Pearl, his five grandchildren: Keith, Chris, Craig, Jamie & Jessica, his three great-grandchildren: Cheyenne, Madison & Garrett, his sister: Bride Power, St. John`s, a number of nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Our Lady of Grace Church, Colinet. Funeral will take place on Wednesday, June 25th, following 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial from Our Lady of Grace Church, Colinet. Interment will be in the R.C. cemetery, Colinet. 'His memory is enshrined in our hearts.'

HOGAN, Douglas Alexander - Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre on Thursday, October 17, 2002 surrounded by his loving family, Douglas Hogan, age 57 years. Former employee of the City of St. John`s for 36 years. Predeceased by his parents, William (Doc) and Alice Hogan and brother William. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Pearl; three sons: Allan, Douglas (Roxanne) and John (Michelle); one daughter, Pauline (Barry Hudson); five precious grandchildren: Sabrina and Chrissy Hudson, Erica and Danielle Hogan, and one grandson Nicholas Hogan; one brother, Ron (Louise) and one sister, Linda (Kevin Snow); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. No visitation. Cremation has already taken place at his request. Memorial service to take place 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2002 from Barrett`s Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Inurnment to follow in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one`s choice. Arrangements entrusted to Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue.

HYNES, Stanley - Passed peacefully away at Escasoni Home in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, October 13, 2002, Stanley, age 89 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Ursula, May 1996. He leaves to mourn his three sons: Leonard, Stanley, Gerry (wife Joan); two daughters: Hilda (husband David Power) and Bridget (husband Joe Lake); his seven grandchildren: Johnny, Rene, Ross Hickey, Craig and Angela Hynes, Laurie and Joey Lake; two great-grandchildren: Brandon Hickey and Hannah Myles; brother, Bernard Hynes; and sister, Loretta Hynes; sister-in-law, Margaret Saint; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves to mourn his extended family of loving and devoted caregivers at Escasoni Home, St. John`s, and Kelly`s Personal Care Home, Goulds. He was waked at Sacred Heart Church, St. Bernard`s, and Funeral Mass of Christian Burial and interment, officiated by Father Jeff Kolonel, took place there on Wednesday, October 16. Donations in his memory can be kindly made to Hoyles Escasoni Foundation or a charity of ones choice.
