Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Martha of 63 years; son Jim Barnes of Shoal Harbour; brother-in-law Austin Hollett (Thelma), Burin and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held on Friday, October 18, 2002 from Shoal Harbour United Church with interment at United cemetery, Shoal Harbour. HOGAN, Douglas Alexander - Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre on Thursday, October 17, 2002 surrounded by his loving family, Douglas Hogan, age 57 years. Former employee of the City of St. John`s for 36 years. Predeceased by his parents, William (Doc) and Alice Hogan and brother William. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Pearl; three sons: Allan, Douglas (Roxanne) and John (Michelle); one daughter, Pauline (Barry Hudson); five precious grandchildren: Sabrina and Chrissy Hudson, Erica and Danielle Hogan, and one grandson Nicholas Hogan; one brother, Ron (Louise) and one sister, Linda (Kevin Snow); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. No visitation. Cremation has already taken place at his request. Memorial service to take place 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2002 from Barrett`s Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue. HYNES, Stanley - Passed peacefully away at Escasoni Home in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, October 13, 2002, Stanley, age 89 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Ursula, May 1996. He leaves to mourn his three sons: Leonard, Stanley, Gerry (wife Joan); two daughters: Hilda (husband David Power) and Bridget (husband Joe Lake); his seven grandchildren: Johnny, Rene, Ross Hickey, Craig and Angela Hynes, Laurie and Joey Lake; two great-grandchildren: Brandon Hickey and Hannah Myles; brother, Bernard Hynes; and sister, Loretta Hynes; sister-in-law, Margaret Saint; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves to mourn his extended family of loving and devoted caregivers at Escasoni Home, St. John`s, and Kelly`s Personal Care Home, Goulds. He was waked at Sacred Heart Church, St. Bernard`s, and Funeral Mass of Christian Burial and interment, officiated by Father Jeff Kolonel, took place there on Wednesday, October 16.
