Tracey Allison Graves
30, Yarmouth County
Tracey Allison Graves, 30, of Cedar Drive, Yarmouth County, passed away peacefully after a brave and courageous fight with cancer, surrounded by her loving family and friends on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of Jack and Donna (MacQuarrie) Himmelman.
She was a member of Beacon United Church, also a member of the Nova Scotia and Canadian Appaloosa Horse Associations. She was a member of the Tri-County Equestrian Club, Yarmouth, where she was one of the founding members. She was an avid horse woman and ball player. Tracey loved her family, horses and her many dear friends.
She survived by her husband, Peter; daughters, Allison and Erin, both at home; brother, John (Susan), Ketch Harbour, Halifax Co.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Angus and Sally MacQuarrie, paternal grandparents, Lemuel and Mary Himmelman.
Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in Sweeney’s Funeral Home, 567 Main St., Yarmouth. Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Beacon United Church, Rev. Leslie Robinson officiating. Interment at a later date.
Family flowers only, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Tri-County Equestrian Club or the charity of your choice.

David George Bushell
56, Balls Creek
David George Bushell, 56, of Balls Creek, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the former Olga Andrea and the late Charles Bushell.
He worked for the Devco Railroad and also worked in the mines. He loved fishing and gardening.
David is survived by his daughters, Vivian and Olga, grandson Julian and former wife Vivian (Mullins) Bushell. He is also survived by sisters Patricia MacLean, Joan MacKeigan, both of Ontario, Carolyn Graves, Kentville, Brenda (Michael) Lawrence, Anne, both of Glace Bay, and Mary (Jamie) Melnick, Mira, brothers, Charles, Joseph (Anne Marie), both of Balls Creek, and Peter (Kaye), Sydney.
He was predeceased by his father Charles and his sister Juliette.
Visitation for the late David Bushell will be held Monday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father Jake Andrea officiating. Cremation will follow.
By request, family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care 4th floor of the Northside General Hospital.

Howard Chaisson
78, Aspy Bay
Howard Chaisson, 78, of Aspy Bay passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Aspy Bay, the son of the late George and Catherine (MacDougall) Chaisson.
He was a member of St. Margaret’s Parish. He served in the 127 Air Field Royal Canadian Air Force in England, France, Germany and Holland. He was a former employee of Dingwall Gypsum and a retired fisherman.
Survived by wife, Christena (Burton) Chaisson; daughters, Lorraine (George) Budge, New Haven, Katherine (Michael) Johnston, Sydney; sons, Earl at home and Kevin (Heather) Chaisson, Cape North; grandchildren, Merrill and Melvin Budge, Christopher Chaisson, Ormond and Brandon Johnston; sister, Mary (Alvin) Doucette, Timberley. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by his step-grandson, Ainslie White and special Godchild, Georgette Turner.
Besides his father and mother, he was also predeceased by a son, Merrill; granddaughter, Kimberly Chaisson daughter of Connie and Kevin and son-in-law, George Budge.
Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Margaret’s Parish Hall. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 11 am. at St. Margaret’s Church, Bay St. Lawrence with burial in St. Margaret’s Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Ingonish.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Margaret’s Building Fund Committee or Cemetery Fund.

Eleanor M. Lewis
89, New York
Eleanor M. Lewis, 89, of 418 Patterson St., Ogdensburg, N.Y., USA, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at home.
Mrs. Lewis was born June 20, 1911, in Edwardsville, Cape Breton, N.S., the daughter of William and Mary Joseph McGillivray Lewis. She moved to New York City to study nursing where she became a private registered nurse for over 40 years. She traveled extensively working for many celebrities including Beatrice Lillie, Jacqueline Susann, and Jack Berry. Eleanor, along with her sister Catherine, helped raise the late Catherine Ruth McGillivray Luckie. Miss Lewis was a member of St. Monica’s Church in New York City. She lived in Ogdensburg for the past five years. She enjoyed children, cats, reading, politics, and watching the Yankees.
Miss Lewis is survived by a sister Catherine B. Lewis of Odgensburg, twelve nieces and nephews, Laurence and Elmer Fraser, Edwardsville, N.S., Evelyn and Max Jennings, Edwardsville, N.S., Barbara Huntington, Point Edward, N.S., Steve and Heather Fraser, Ben Eoin, N.S., Russell Fraser, Sydney, N.S., Joseph and Anna Fraser, Dominion, N.S., Marjorie and Rod Dow, Bedford, N.S., Gary and Peggy Lewis, Bedford, N.S., Michael and Darlene Lewis, Halifax, N.S., Colleen and Robert MacDonald, Halifax, N.S., Jamie Ross and Joyce Lewis, Riverview, N.B., twenty great-nieces and nephews, six great-grand nieces and nephews.
Miss Lewis was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Lewis and Loretta Fraser, three brothers, Austin, Simon, and James Lewis and a nephew Melvin Fraser.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Cathedral with the Rev. Jason Jones officiating. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the Frary Funeral Home, New York.

Richard G.E. Warnell
Memorial Service
A memorial service for the late Richard Warnell, age 30, who passed away Nov. 6, 2000, will be held at the Nova Scotia Hospital Chapel, Dartmouth, Thursday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. with Rev. MacLean officiating.
Always loved and never forgotten by his father, Allison, mother, Betty Burke and sister, Tanya.

George Eldon (Sonny) Boone
69, Birch Grove
George Eldon (Sonny) Boone, 69, Birch Grove passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.
Born in Birch Grove, he was the son of the late H.F. and Irene (Shepard) Boone, Birch Grove.
Sonny was an employee of Devco until his retirement in 1984. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Munroe); daughter, Glenda (Ross) Bennett, Reserve Mines; sons, Eldon (Michele), Glace Bay, Cecil (Cathy), Glace Bay and Ross, Birch Grove; grandchildren, Ronnie Walters, Birch Grove, Courtney and Stacy Boone, both of Glace Bay, Erin, Joel, and Matthew Bennett, all of Reserve Mines, Cecil and Lyndsay Boone, both of Glace Bay; brothers, Gerald (Shirley), Dartmouth, Vernon (Mary), Birch Grove, Ivan, Sydney; sisters, Lois (Wilson) MacLeod, Dartmouth, Lorna Purdie, Markham, Ont.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Sonny was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy (Robert) Gray, Toronto.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service with Rev. David MacLean officiating, Friday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to MacKay Memorial United Church, Birch Grove, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or charity of choice.
