Edna Antonelli (nee Ripley)
91, South Yarmouth, Mass.
Edna Antonelli, formerly of Quincy, Mass. and Sydney, passed away Monday, March 19, 2001, in South Yarmouth, Mass.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Janet Ripley, Sydney.
She was a nurse for many years in Boston area hospitals.
Surviving are two sisters, Hazel Andrews and Ethel MacLeod; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Connie, son, Bruce, sisters, Zeta and Beatie, brothers, Laun and Lewis.
There is no visitation. Funeral arrangements have been carried out in Quincy, Mass.

Charlie J. LeBlanc
89, Belle Cote
Charlie J. LeBlanc, 89, of Belle Cote, Inverness County, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Belle Cote, he was the son of the late Lazare and Luce (AuCoin) LeBlanc. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Margaree.
He is survived by one brother, Leo LeBlanc, Inverness; one sister, Rita (Mrs. Germain LeBlanc), Waltham, Mass.; two stepdaughters, Therese (Greg LeBlanc) and Pauline (Charlie Poirier), both of Cheticamp. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Long, second wife, Dorothy (Buckles) AuCoin, stepson, Harold AuCoin, two brothers, Joseph and Willie A. LeBlanc, three sisters, Margaret, Marie Antoinette, Julie Anne.
Visitation will be held in the Belle Cote Community Centre, Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, Margaree with Rev. Peter MacLeod officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd.
W. Ronald MacDonald
Wolfville
W. Ronald MacDonald of Wolfville, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in San Carlos, Mexico.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late William R. and Sarah MacDonald.
He was a member of the Acadia University faculty and held administrative positions until he retired in 1987. He was an active member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Wolfville.
He is survived by his wife, the former Winnifred Graham; daughter, Sarah (Andre) Tessier, Berwick; sons, Ronald G. (Dena), Wolfville, and W. Graham (Tina), Wolfville; five grandchildren, Christine, Elise, Matthew, Ben and Sam; sister, Phoebe Hillier, Baddeck.
He was predeceased by brothers, C. Roy and Murray and sisters, Christine and Anne.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at Saint Andrew’s United Church, Wolfville, Saturday, March 24 at 2 p.m. A private family committal service will be held at Willowbank Cemetery in Wolfville.
No flowers by request. Donations to a charity of choice.

Christene Elizabeth Cameron
91, Grand River
In the company of her family, Christene peacefully passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001 in the Strait Richmond Hospital after finally succumbing to the rigours of old age.
Born in October, 1909, she was the second child of the late Dan Frank and Katie Flora MacRitchie Matheson.
She was born and raised in the small, gentle farming community of Aberdeen overlooking the Bras d’Or Lakes. After her schooling was completed, she worked in Baddeck for a number of years and while there met and married Norman L. Cameron, who remained her loving husband for the next 61 years. The new couple moved to Grand River, N.S., where Norman worked in the General Store built and owned by his father, John H. Cameron. In 1948, Norman took over the store from his father and Chris gradually became more active in the operation of the business. The store was sold in 1976, allowing she and Norman many years of healthy and productive retirement.
Chris is survived by her husband, Norman, as well as daughter, Norma, Halifax and son, Kenneth, Grand River.
She is also survived by sisters, Harriet (Mrs. Andrew Morrison), Jonena (Mrs. Douglas Macleod), Mary (Mrs. Wilfred Asaph), all of Baddeck, Jamie (Mrs. Donald Ross), Little Narrows; and brother, Frank (Anne), Aberdeen. She is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and other family friends.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her older sister, Mabelle, who was murdered in Boston in 1927; brother, Leonard; and daughter-in-law, Shirley Larkin- Cameron.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Grand River United Church with funeral service in the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Tony Ware officiating.
Cremation and interment to take place at a later date.
Family flowers only please; donations may be made in Chris’s memory to the Grand River United Church.
The funeral is under the direction of the Alex A. Morrison Funeral Home, St. Peter’s.
Ameila (Novak) MacKinnon
86, Howie Centre
Amelia (Novak) MacKinnon, 86, of 14 Lakeview Dr., Howie Centre, passed away March 24, 2001 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Mazek) Novak.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River.
Surviving are her daughter, Cathy March, Dundalk, Ont.; son, Robert, Sydney; sister, Sophie Giles, Pomquet, N.S.; brothers, Eli, Sydney River and Joseph, Victoria, B.C.
She was predeceased her husband, John Harry; brothers, Frank, Michael and Charlie; and sister, Frances, in infancy.
There will be no visitation for the late Mrs. MacKinnon. There will be a funeral mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River at 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2001 with Rev. Norman MacPhee officiating, with interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Donations may be made to charity of ones choice.
