A Memorial Mass for the late Helen E. MacDonald, R.N., of Halifax, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, will be celebrated 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Immaculate Heart Parish, Mira Road, with Fr. Everett McDow officiating.
George Thomas Peach
84, Halifax
George Thomas Peach, 84, of Halifax, passed away peacefully at the QEII, New Halifax Infirmary.
Born on Dec. 27, 1915 in Port Morien, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Fred and Susan (Martell) Peach.
He was an active member of Bethany United Church, where he served as an elder and sang in the choir, for 57 years. He also sang with several choral groups in the city. He was employed with the Provincial Department of Labour, Apprenticeship Division, first as a councillor, then in 1967, he became director until his retirement in 1980. Upon retirement, he was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. He was an avid golfer at the Ashburn Golf Club. He was a member of the RCNVR (Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserves) from 1940 to 1945.
Left to mourn his passing, is his wife of 57 years, the former Mary E. MacLeod; daughter, Elizabeth Tanner (W.J.), Vancouver, B.C.; son, Robert, Halifax; granddaughter, Katie Tanner, Vancouver, B.C.; brothers, Melvin, Leyroy and Joe, all in Cape Breton; brother, Ted and sister, Alice, both in the Annapolis Valley.
He was predeceased by brothers, John, Gordon, Aulay, Earl and Lewis and sisters, Sarah, Frances and Beatrice.
Cremation has taken place, under the direction of the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax.
Family flowers only, memorials in his memory, may be made to the Bethany Choir Fund, Canadian Parkinson’s Foundation; Phoenix House, Halifax or to a charity of choice.
No visitation, a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bethany United Church, Halifax.
Isobel M. MacInnes
86, Halifax
Isobel M. MacInnes, 86, of Halifax died Monday, April 23, 2001, at the VG Site QEII, Halifax.
Born in Calgary, Alta., she was the daughter of the late James A. and Annie F. (Beamish) Millican.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Barry and his wife, Valeria, Bedford, Rod and his wife, Diane, Kanata, Ont.; grandchildren, Leah, Bruce, Gael, Michael, Marcie and Mark; niece, Lynne McKee and nephew, Ronald Millican.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roderick Cameron, brother, Bud.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, in T.K. Barnard Funeral Home, 1216 Bedford Highway, Bedford. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Canon Robert Power officiating. Interment at a later date.

A memorial service for the late George Peach, who passed away in Halifax on Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, will be held at St. Luke’s United Church, Donkin at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000. Interment in Black Brook Cemetery.
Alden Hanson
51, Halifax
Alden Hansen of Halifax, formerly of Trout Brook Road, Mira, passed away suddenly, Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Eileen (MacDonald) and the late Charles Hansen.
Alden worked as a hairstylist for 25 years earning great respect and admiration throughout his career.
Alden is survived by his sisters, Mildred Cameron, Sydney, Charlene (Chuck) Dornadic, Westmount, Debbie Hansen, Halifax; brothers, Guy (Diane), Trevor (Patricia), David (Kathleen), Pattie (Frances), Walter, Roddie (Dianne), Dannie, all of Trout Brook Road, Mira. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Charles and Beaton.
Visitation for the late Mr. Hansen will be today (Saturday), Dec. 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. Funeral service will be held Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Autism Society of Cape Breton.
Cecilia M. MacInnis
77, Halifax
Cecilia M. MacInnis, 77, of Halifax, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at the New Infirmary, QEII.
Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Dan and Jane (MacEachern) MacInnis.
She was a graduate of St. Martha’s School of Nursing in Antigonish and worked as a registered nurse in Sydney and Halifax for many years.
Surviving are sisters, Mary ‘Lilly’ MacKinnon, Halifax, Frances Peinsznski (Johnny), Margaret Campbell (Danny), Theresa MacDonald, Sydney; many nieces, nephews and dear friends, Colleen MacDonald and Gary Merrick, Halifax.
She was predeceased by brothers, Alex, Johnny, James, Donald, sisters, Mary C., Shirley, Delores.
Cremation has taken place. Prayer service 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in Snow’s Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, in St. Anthony Daniel Church, Sydney. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Theresa Morley
Halifax
Theresa C. Morley of Halifax, died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at the Mount St. Vincent Motherhouse (MBI). Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Curry) Morley.
She was a graduate of St. Anne’s High School, Glace Bay, and the Mount St. Vincent Secretarial College. She worked for the Dominion Coal Company for several years before moving to Montreal where she resided for 33 years. In Montreal she was employed as an executive secretary with Marconi Company of Canada and the American Can Company. In 1997 she returned to Nova Scotia and retired in Halifax. Theresa treasured her association with the Children of Mary and was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Basilica Parish.
She is survived by her sisters, Monica, with whom she resided, and Sister Alice, Mount St. Vincent Motherhouse; brothers, Joe, Economy, Bill, East Bay; Father Frank, East Bay, Father Fred, Iona, Father Tom, Berwick. Also survived by 14 nieces and nephews; several grand-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, John, James, Charles; sisters, Dr. Mary Morley, and Sister Agnes S.C. Visitation at 9 a.m., Friday. Funeral mass Friday at 10 a.m. both in Mount St. Vincent Motherhouse. The remains will be then transferred to Curry Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay, where visitation will be 10 a.m. until burial at 11 a.m. Burial in the family plot in St Anne’s Cemetery, Glace Bay, under the direction of Curry Funeral Home.

Visitation for the late Theresa C. Morley of Halifax, who died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, will be held tomorrow (Saturday) from 10 - 11 a.m. followed by Committal Services to be celebrated at the family plot in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Glace Bay.
Margaret Lillian Johnston
89, Halifax
Margaret Lillian Johnston, 89, formerly of Sydney, passed away at Northwood Centre, Halifax, on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001.
Born in North Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (O’Leary) Steele.
She is survived by sons, Cyril and Carl, both of Halifax; daughter Mary, Toronto; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Zeno, son, John, brothers, Arthur, John and William and stepbrother, Donald, sisters, Catherine and Mary. She was also predeceased by her stepparents, Peter and Kate Steele.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Northwood Centre. Burial will take place 3 p.m. Sunday in Forest Haven Cemetery, Sydney, N.S.
