Myrtle Ruth Norwood
Norwood - Myrtle - Ruth - 92 of West Clifford, Lunenburg County, died September 1, 2004 in St. Vincent’s Guest House, Halifax.
Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Iva (Faulkenham) Dollivar.
She was a teacher for over 40 years in many areas of Lunenburg County. A life member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement and a former choir member. Past member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church women’s group.
She is survived by sons Mervyn (Joyce) Halifax, Kenneth (Betty) West Clifford; grandchildren Neil (Tracey), Jonathan (Rebecca) all of Halifax. Trevor (Carol-Ann) West Clifford, Scott (Beth-Ann) Pine Grove; great grandchildren Ryan, Taylor, Mark and Connor; cousins Harold Weagle, Dorothy Zwicker and Lowell Faulkenham; numerous nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her husband Warren; son Donald.
Visitation 7 - 9pm Friday in R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville.
Funeral Service 11am Saturday in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement. Reverend Willis Ott officiating. Burial in Baker Settlement Cemetery.
Immediate family flowers only.
Memorial donations may be made to the Halifax Public Library Home Bound Department or St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement.

Amy Margaret Risser
Risser, Amy Margaret - 87, Petite Riviere and Bridgewater, passed away September 2, 2004 in Shoreham Village, Chester.
Born on LaHave Islands, she was a daughter of the Late Caleb and Julia (Wamboldt) Hirtle.
Surviving are her son Kim and his wife Gerry, Bridgewater; step-grandchildren John (Barbara), Yarmouth, Ann (Ted), Jonquiere, QC, Rose (Michael), Vogler’s Cove, Patricia, Dayspring, Danny, Bridgewater; nephews Ronald, Parker, Reid. She was predeceased by her husband Roy; sisters Elva, Gertrude, Florence, Elizabeth, Audrey; brother Norman.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.
Memorial Service 2:00pm Tuesday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Reverend Gary Alcock officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
Family Flowers only.
Memorial Donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Shoreham Village Home For Special Care, Chester or the charity of your choice.

Arnold Murray Slauenwhite
Slauenwhite, Arnold Murray - 46, Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, died August 29, 2004 in Kitchener, Ontario. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Murray and Annie (Llewellyn) Slauenwhite. Surviving are his daughter Kathy Ann Lacey, Bridgewater; brothers Fredie, North Brookfield Mass., Richie, Bridgewater; sister Sharon Rafuse, Greenfield; grandsons Hunter and Morgan Veinot; nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service 11:00am Monday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Rev. Willis Ott Officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Immediate Family Flowers only. Memorial Donations may be made to the family.

Dorothy 'Dot' Hines
Hines - Dorothy 'Dot' - 66 of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, died September 9, 2004 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Simcoe, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Margery (McClintoc) Somerville. Surviving are her husband Richard; children Bradley (Rose), Winnipeg, Brian, Vancouver, Darlene (Mike) Bridgewater; brothers and sisters Thomas (Carolyn) Delhi, Ontario, Carrol (Keith) Simcoe, Ontario, Jo-Anne (Frank), Larry, both of Delhi, Ontario; grandchildren Alex and Caitlin, both of Bridgewater; numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Memorial Service 11:00am Tuesday in R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Burial at a later date. Immediate family flowers only. Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Charles R. Zwicker
Zwicker - Charles - R. - 74 of Chelsea, Lunenburg County, passed away suddenly at home on September 21, 2004. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Louise Zwicker-Himmelman. Charles joined the R.C.A.F. in 1950 as a Craftsman One and retired in 1980 as a Major. He retired to Chelsea where he enjoyed woodworking until his illness. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years the former Virginia Woodworth; daughter Deborah, Chelsea; sons Blaine, Eastern Passage, Brian (Cheryl) Pine Grove; sisters Betty MacNeil (Norm), Bridgewater, Joanne Lohnes (John) Midville Branch; brothers Robert Himmelman, Auburndale, David Himmelman, Ontario; grandchildren Alicia, Kerry-Anne, Brenna, Courtney; great grandchildren Bethany and Nicholas; many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. No visitation at the funeral home. Private family graveside service at a later date. No flowers by family request. Memorial donations may be made to the Maple Grove Cemetery Fund, Chelsea.

Lawrence Theodore Heim
Heim, Lawrence Theodore - 83, Liverpool, Queen’s County, formerly of Chelsea, died September 21, 2004 in Queen’s General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Chelsea, he was a son of the late Zola and Susan (Butler) Heim. Lawrence was a self-employed general contractor working throughout Lunenburg and Queen’s Counties. Surviving are his companion Marguerite Oickle; daughters Jessie Heim (Ivan), Middlewood, Lillian Fynes (Paul), Fancy Lake, Phyllis Heim (David) Centre. sons Morris (Beatrice) Lunenburg, Murray, Baker Settlement, Kenneth, Hebbville, Everette, Bridgewater, Matthew (Lori) Wileville. sisters Pauline Wentzell, Petitie Riviere, Beverly Fraser (Bernard) Oakhill. brothers Robert (Mae) MaHone Bay, Chester, Pine Grove, Andrew, Chelsea. nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother Everette. sisters Carol and Margarette.
Memorial Service 2:00pm Friday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Reverend Willis Ott Officiating. Private Family Burial in Lone Oak Cemetery, New Elm. Family flowers only. Memorial Donations may be made to the Chelsea Fire Department or the Ladies Auxiliary.

Robert H Talbot
Talbot, Robert H - Cherry Hill, Lunenburg County, passed away at his home on September 19, 2004 at the age of 87. Born in 1917 in Newark, New Jersey, Mr. Talbot attended Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York City, and Colby College in Waterville, ME. Mr. Talbot was working as a flight instructor in Montpelier, VT when he joined Great Britain’s Royal Air Force shortly after the outbreak of World War Two. He served in the RAF’s Coastal Command in Britain. Following the entry of the United States into the war, he transferred to the US Army Air Force where he served as a bomber pilot in the China India Burma Theatre and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a commercial airline pilot for TWA and United Airlines after returning to a civilian life. In 1965, he moved his family from Marion, Massachusetts to Halifax, NS, to open Talbot’s Book Shop. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Booksellers Association and served as a voice for the interests of the independent Canadian bookseller. He retired to Cherry Hill in 1981. An ardent photographer, Mr. Talbot volunteered for photographic projects with the DesBrisay and Fort Point Museums.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret and is survived by his son Paul, and two granddaughters in Arizona.
There was no funeral service or burial by request. Memorial Donations may be made to the DesBrisay or Fort Point Museums. Arrangements under the direction of the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville.

Robert Minard Crooker
Slipped away quietly and peacefully at Sherwood Park Manor in Brockville, Ontario on September 24, 2004 at the age of 85.
Bob was an only child, born in South Brookfileld, N.S. to Clarence and Gladys Crooker on May 3, 1919.
Bob grew up in Caledonia, joined the RCAF during World War 11, specializing in the radar field, and spent much of his service time in Gibralter. After the war, with his inventive mind and background in electronics, he decided to make this his profession - as a teacher in Halifax and in the retail trade in Caledonia and Bridgewater, N.S.
He was happiest building or inventing something in his workshop at Crooked Lake - from houses, boats, and furniture to electrical gadgets. Most of his life was spent in Nova Scotia, where he played in the Bridgewater Firemen¹s Band for many years, and belonged to local Canadian Legion branches, but in 2001, as his health was failing, he moved to Prescott, Ontario.
He is survived by his wife, Marie in Prescott, daughters from his first marriage, Gail (Mrs. Adrian VanRyswyk) in Australia, and Louise (Mrs. Gary Hiltz) in Nova Scotia. Step children in Ontario are Barry (Sharyn) Laushway, Jo- Anne Bush, and Douglas Laushway in Edmonton, Alberta.
Grandchildren are Ingrid (David) Wilson , Kurt, Eric, and Stefan VanRyswyk of Australia, in Nova Scotia, Beau, Ben, and Pam Boucher, in Ontario, Scott Bryon, and Steven Laushway, Shannon Bush, and great grand children Baylea and Robbie Laushway,as well as many cousins and sister and brother-in-laws. He was preceded by his parents, former wife Lorna, stepson Gregory
Laushway, step grandchildren Paul and Robbie Laushway.
A Memorial Service will be held at R. A. Corkum Funeral Home in Bridgewater on October 14, 2004 at 11 a.m. , followed by a reception at the Italy Cross Fire Hall.
If desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or charity of choice.

Arnold Stanford Whynot
Whynot, Arnold Stanford - 64, Danesville, Queen’s County, died September 30, 2004 in Queen’s General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Danesville, he was a son of the Late Stanford and Elizabeth (Wagner) Whynot. Surviving are his wife, the former Beverly Weagle; daughter Donna (Kenneth) Hatt, Middlewood; sons Larry (Cathy), Middlewood, Arnold Jr., at home; sisters Hazel Denmore, Vancouver, Shirley (Billy) Wolfe, Middlewood, Ida Merry, Liverpool; grandchildren Jessica & Jeremy Hatt; three nieces. He was predeceased by son Jeffrey.
There will be no visitation by request.
Memorial Service 11:00am Monday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Reverend Karen Ohrt officiating. Burial in the Croft Cemetery,Danesville .
Family Flowers only.
Memorial Donations may be made to Danesville United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the Charity of choice.

Lyman Harrington Forcey
Forcey, Lyman Harrington - 76, Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, died September 30, 2004 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. There will be no service or burial by request.

Irene Mary Wamboldt
Wamboldt, Irene Mary - 88, Hillside Pines Home For Special Care, Bridgewater, formerly of Italy Cross, died October 4, 2004 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Middlewood, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Edith (Himmelman) Slauenwhite. Surviving are her son Ronald (Shirley), Italy Cross; daughter Alice (Charles) Orman, Italy Cross; sisters Marguerite Eisner, Liverpool, Olive (Ivan) Bolivar, Eunice (Stanley) Whynot, Katie Crowley, all of Middlewood; four Granddaughters; one Grandson; 10 Great-grandchildren; one Great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard; son Donald; sisters Beatrice, Viola and Lottie; three daughters in infancy; grandson Charles Jr.; granddaughter Bethany.
Visitation 7-9pm Wednesday, funeral service 1:30pm Thursday, both in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Captain Henry Bingle officiating. Burial in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, Middlewood. Family flowers only. Memorial Donations may be made to Hillside Pines Home For Special Care, Bridgewater or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

Roswell Andrew 'Rossie' Hirtle
Hirtle, Roswell Andrew 'Rossie' - 83, Queen’s Manor, Liverpool, formerly of Wileville, died October 17, 2004 in Queen’s General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Baker Settlement, he was a son of the late Alfred and Lillian Bolivar (Frausell) Hirtle. He was a founding member of Wileville Fire Department and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater. Surviving are his daughter Sharon Hebb (Eddie), Conquerall Mills; son Brenton (Sandra), Laconia; brother Gerald, Lower Branch; half-brothers Arnold Bolivar and Norman Bolivar, both of Baker Settlement. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Evelyn Hirtle; sister Marjorie Moss; brother Carmon.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial Service 11:00am Wednesday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Reverend Willis Ott Officiating. Private Family burial in Baker Settlement Cemetery. Family Flowers only. Memorial Donations may be made to Queen’s Manor, Liverpool, Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

James Edward 'Jim' Wamback
Wamback - James - Edward 'Jim' - 42 of Colpton, Lunenburg County, died October 17, 2004 in Pleasant River.
Born in Bridgewater he was a son of the late Leo and Bertha (Colp) Wamback.
Surviving are his wife the former Heather Mansfield; daughters Laura and Lisa, both at home; sisters Barbara Cain (Richard) Coldbrook, Linda Russell (David) Truro, Darlene Redmond (Wayne) NL; brothers Leo (Christine) Sackville, Joe (Lori) New Grafton; Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation 7 - 9pm Wednesday in R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville.
Funeral Service 2:00pm Thursday in Trinity United Church, Pleasant River. Reverend Linda Kuschnik officiating. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Pleasant River.
