MEISNER, Mary Ella Mae - 81, Newcombville, Lunenburg Co., passed away October 17, 2002, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Mahone Bay, she was a daughter of the late Jason and Eunice (Oickle) Veinot. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; sons, Ray (Iris), James (Shirley), all of Newcombville; grandchildren, Lori, Matthew, Glenn, Braden, Kari and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Mickelty; sisters, Flora Bell, Hebbville; Edith Veinotte, Maitland; brother, Franklyn Veinotte, Blockhouse; foster brother, Scott Robar, Blockhouse. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marjorie Joudrey, Verlie Barry; stepfather, Elias Ernst. Visitation will be held Sunday from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in All Saints Lutheran Church, Newcombville, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial will follow in Newcombville Cemetery. Family flowers only. VEINOTTE, Franklyn "Frank" Jason - 79, Blockhouse, died December 10, 2004, at home. Born in Maitland, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Jason and Eunice (Eickle) Veinotte. He had worked in a lumber mill as a sawyer. He is survived by his wife, Lillas (Frank) Veinotte; daughters, Susan Levy (James Wile), Laconia; Debra Dorey (Darrell), Upper New Cornwall; Cathy Lohnes (Norman Veinott), Pleasantville; son, Peter Veinotte, Blockhouse; step-daughters, Jane Dorey (Brenton), Hebbville; Dianne Caines (Albert), Blockhouse; Violet Swinimer (Raymond), Western Shore; stepsons, Earl Nauss, Ontario; Gordon Nauss (Rose Thibeau), Maitland; Ted Nauss (Janet), Port Williams; Ernie Nauss, New England (Valerie, Bridgewater); sisters, Flora Bell, Hebbville; Edith Veinotte, Mahone Bay; brother, Scott Robar (Hazel), Blockhouse; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. CONNOLLY, Wallace Earl — 64, Middlewood, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully February 11, 2010, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Bridgewater he was a son of the late Carmon and Helen (Bollivar) Connolly. He was a devoted husband, father and a doting grandfather. In his younger years he worked in the Christmas tree yards, then as a mechanic and he also worked 27 years at the Department of Transportation as a snowplow operator and truck driver until his retirement in 2004. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Surviving are his wife, Diane (Shaw); daughter, Marie (Tommy) Crouse, Waterloo; sons, Randall, Middlewood; Earl, at home; granddaughters, Liane and Danielle; sister, Julia (Ronnie) Crouse, Middlewood; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers in infancy. There will be no funeral service or visitation by family request. Cremation has taken place under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Memorial donations may be made to Middlewood United Church, South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater or charity of choice.
Lee Leaman Langille, 77, Glades Lodge, Halifax, died August 20, 1994, in the Lodge. Born in Newburne, he was a son of the late Joshua and Elsie (Neil) Langille. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He worked as a woodsman and on the highway until retirement in 1982. He is survived by half-brother,
Andrew Hirtle, Mahone Bay; brother, Tracey Langille, New Germany; two nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Belle in infancy; infant twin brothers, Victor and Vincent. Funeral will be 11 a.m. today in Transfiguration Anglican Church, Newburne, Rev. John Pearce officiating, assisted by Rev. Peter Armstrong. Burial will be in Newburne Cemetery.

'GRAM' NEWBURGH - Dorothy Pearl (Croxford) Veinote, 93, beloved wife of the late Ford E. "Papa" Veinote, died peacefully in her sleep at a Bangor hospital early Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004. She was born June 7, 1910, in Dixmont, the daughter of Frank Ernest and Jennie Grace (Garland) Croxford. In addition to raising her four children, she worked at Grant's, Freeses and Rines Department stores and Drew's Convalescent Home in Bangor and Rowell's Convalescent Home in Hampden. Dorothy enjoyed playing bingo and loved to write, and wrote many stories about the old times with her family and friends and her childhood. She would sit for hours and crochet baby sweater sets while her husband was out plowing roads. Some nights, she would set there all night and crochet. These sweater sets were made by the dozen, for a lady in Unity. Dorothy and Ford were the two oldest citizens of Newburgh and held the Boston Gold Cane for the last eight years from 1996. She and her husband were former members of the Newburgh Grange, The Jolly Neighbors Senior Citizens of Brooks, the Dixmont Methodist Church and South Newburgh Christian Church. Dorothy and her family enjoyed the north woods and spent many hours in their younger years hunting, fishing and camping. Dorothy is survived by three sons, Robert and his wife, Lucille, Paul and his wife, Frances, and Gene and his wife, Bonnie, all of Newburgh; a daughter, Jennie Richardson and her husband, Robert, of Enfield, N.H.; a sister, Sylvia Tenny of Lake Wales, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; one step granddaughter; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and one sister-in-law, Annie Lord. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 72 years, Ford, in 2003; and by two grandsons, Dennis and Randy Veinote; one great-granddaughter, Heather Mae Mitchell; two sisters, Julia Marie Cummings and Erma Winnie Curtis; and three brothers, Raymond, Lyle and Frank Croxford Jr. Dorothy's family would like to thank the staff of Grant six at EMMC, the EMMC Emergency room staff and Dr. Doug Cravens and Dr. McCarthy for the special care they gave Dorothy and her family during her illness, and the staff of Hampden Family Medicine. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to Eastern Maine Charities for EMMC, Grant Six, In-patient Unit, P.O. Box 404, Bangor, ME 04402-0404. Alice Catherine Veinotte of Upper Cornwall passed away quite suddenly at the home of her son, Lloyd, on January 27, 1958, at the age of 84 years. Being in very good health, it was a surprise to her many friends to hear of her passing.
Mrs. Veinotte was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Daniels of Newburne. She was predeceased by her husband, J.W. Austin in 1940. She leaves to mourn five sons and five daughters, Lester of Lynn, Mass.; Vernon of River Hebert; Gertie (Mrs.Wilbert Veinotte) of New Cornwall; Hazel (Mrs.Howard MacKay) of Upper Northfield; Lola (Mrs. C.F.Thyng) of Newton, Mass.; Laurie of New Cornwall; Lloyd, at home; Bessie (Mrs. George Chandler) of Liverpool; Erwin of Blockhouse; Lillian (Mrs. Frank Joudrey) of Upper Cornwall; and two brothers, Arthur of Maplewood and Austin of Springfield; also 38 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held on Thursday, January 29, from the Baptist Church, New Cornwall. All of her ten children were able to attend. The pastor, Rev. Thompson, officiated. Hymns sung were "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say" and "Jesus Saviour, Pilot Me."Pall bearers who laid her to rest were six of her grandsons, Clarence, Lawrence, Leeland, Margeson and Percy Veinotte and Lloyd Joudrey.
Steadman H. Zwicker, 81, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 1975, at the D.M. Hospital, Bridgewater.Born in Scarsdale, he was the son of the late Kanas and Alberdena (Daniels) Zwicker. He was a retired carpenter and lived all his life in Parkdale.Surviving are a daughter, Marion (Mrs. Eric Wilson), Dalhousie East; seven sons, Donald, Liverpool; Aubrey, Maurice, and Lincoln, all of Scarborough,
Ontario; Paul, Parkdale; Gilbert, Oshawa, Ontario; Eric of Halifax; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Willie Mossman; a brother, Charles of Scarsdale. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lucyann Rafuse, a daughter, Jennie, and a son, Llloyd. Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon in Emmanuel United Baptist Church with Mr. Ernest Crosby officiating. Pallbearers were Gerald and John Rafuse, Earle and Royce Wentzell, Alton Spidle, and Allan Foster. Burial was in Parkdale-Maplewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Elizabeth Veinot, wife of the late W. E. Veinot, of this town, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, Sept. 17th at the age of seventy-one. Mrs. Veinot was born in the year 1842 and was the daughter of the late Frederick Crouse of Conqueral Bank. Some forty-five years ago, she was married to the late William Enos Veinot and took up her residence in Bridgewater, where she has ever since resided.
Some months ago she became afflicted by a painful malady which finally caused her death. She is survived by three adopted children, Clara, wife of Foster Norman of this town; Rose of Wakefield, Mass., and George of this town.
Mrs. Veinot was an exteemable lady of sterling character, possed of a most charitable disposition and foremost in every good work. She was a devout member of the Church of England.
In the death of Mrs. Veinot and her late husband the community sustains an imparable loss.

Enola Ruth Mossman, 95, Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay, formerly of Barss Corner, Lunenburg County, died February 10, 1993, in the home. Born in Scarsdale, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Kanas and Alberdena (Daniels) Zwicker. She was a member of Parkdale Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by three daughters, Melita Tanner, First South; Hildred (Mrs. Cecil Hawkesworth) Woodville, Kings County; Phyllis (Mrs. Gordon O'Neil), Scarborough, Ontario; son Carman, New Germany; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William; three sisters, Louise, Elva, Drucilla; three brothers, William, Steadman, Charles. The body is in New Germany Funeral Home, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Parkdale Emmanuel Baptist church, Rev. Karl Uhrstrom officiating. Burial will be in Barss Corner Cemetery. Arthur Robert Lavender, 71, Aylesford, died July 23, 1996, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Lapland, Lunenburg County, he was the son of the late Horace and Grace (Hatt) Lavender. He was employed with Mersey Paper for 17 years; an employee of LaHave Manor; did small electrical repairs and in recent years was a woodcarver specializing in birds and animals. Surviving are his wife, the former Sylvia Eikle; sons, Robert, Midhurst, Ontario; Ted, White Point, Queens County; sister, Colleen McGee, Truro; brother, Carl, Dartmouth; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predecease by brothers, Ronald, Freeman, Elwood, Cyril, Walter, Raymond; sisters, Mary, Lethia, Helen, Alice. William Robert Mossman, 93, formerly of Scarsdale, died Monday, January 30, 1984, in New Germany.Born in Farmington, he was a son of the late Allen and Margaret (Hiltz) Mossman. She was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater; past member of the A.C.W. and honorary member of the Bridgewater Women's Institute. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia, Bridgewater; son, Robert, Sudbury, Ont.; granddaughter, Jessie, Victoria, B.C.; a niece and two nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark M.
