Caleb Douglas Acker, 99, of Kingston, kings County, died Friday, February 16, 1985 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Springfield, Annapolis County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Amelia (Woodworth) Acker. He is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. Haldane Barteaux), Torbrook Mines; Mrs. Juanita Mailman, Kingston; Marie (Mrs. Ron Williams), England; two sons, Everett and Calvin, both of Kingston; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Dorothy Burgoyne; six sisters, Bertha, Bessie, Ellen, Gertie, Louisa, and Annie; and five brothers, Levi, Austin, Wilfred, Zekiel and Irvin. The body is in the Warren T. Roop funeral Home, Middleton.
Funeral will be 2 p, m. Sunday from Kingston United Church, Rev. Gordon Simons officiating, with burial in Springfield Cemetery. Donations to the Kingston United Church Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Stephen Carver - The death of Mrs. Stephen Carver, aged 77 years, occurred at the home of her sister, Mrs. Benjamin Wentzell, Newburn, on Monday evening, March 5th, following an illness of one week. The deceased was before marriage Miss Elizabeth Daniels, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Daniels, Newburn.
She lived all her married life at Walden. Her husband predeceased her 28 years ago. Surviving are five sons, Ozem, New Germany; Henry, Newburn; Stephen, Guy and James of Walden; one daughter, Lousia, widow of Hibbert Veinotte, Worcester, Mass.
A stepson, Sydney Carver, Newburn; one brother, Ben. Daniels, Maplewood; four sisters, Mrs. Kaness Zwicker, Miss Sophia Daniels, Scarsdale; Mrs. Peter Ernst, Blockhouse and Mrs. Ben Wentzell, Newburn.
The deceased was visiting the latter for the past three months, and a week ago, was stricken with heart trouble which caused her death.
Mrs. Carver was a Lutheran in religion.

George Zwicker 1938 Bridgewater Bulletin
New Germany, April 18- The death of George Zwicker, aged 92 years and six months, occurred at the home of his son, Freeman Zwicker, Wednesday evening. The deceased was bed ridden and blind for the past two years but was in fairly good health until two weeks ago. He was born at Blockhouse, Lunenburg County, a son of the late Abraham Zwicker and Matilda Hughes Zwicker.He was the last remaining member of a family of eight. A sister, Mrs. Enos Oxner, Mahone, predeceased him a little more than a year ago. His wife, who was formerly Miss Susie Veinotte, died fifteen years ago. Surviving are three sons, Freeman, New Germany; Arthur, Cornwall; Jeremiah, Kentville; two daughters, Freelove, wife of Harris Zwicker, Lakeland, Lunenburg County; Mrs. Naomi Greenwood, Sanford, Maine; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was an Anglican in religion. Four and a half years ago he moved from Walden to New Germany. Previous to that he lived many years at New Cornwall. The deceased's grandmother lived to be (can't make it out) years of age. A cousin, George Zwicker, Dublin is 100 years old. Funeral service was held Friday with Rev. T.G. Ott officiating. Interment was at New Cornwall.

Laura Grace Veinotte
Laura Grace Veinotte passed away on May 5, 2002 at Fishermen's Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years. She was the daughter of Fred and Lucy Frank. Born in Upper Cornwall where she lived most of her life, she was predeceased by husband Gilbert Veinotte.
Surviving is one son Oran Veinotte, Mississauga, Ontario, also one sister Annie Sarty, Bridgewater; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Susan Lumby, Heather DiMaria, Debera Munshaw, Fred and Christopher Veinotte, one niece Thelma (Sally) MacNeil and nephew Scott Sarty, and a chosen family friend George Houstin.
She was a member of New Cornwall Baptist Church, and attended there as long as her health allowed her. She was also a member of Princess Louise Rebekah Lodge of Mahone Bay, a member of Upper Cornwall Sewing Circle, and a Sunday School teacher at Cornwall Union Church. She loved children, and cared for a number of them in her home. She loved all people, and their visits brought her much joy.

Mrs. Victoria Jodrey 1935
The death of Mrs. Victoria Jodrey, aged 78 years, took place at her home, North River, Thursday, of pneumonia, following a short illness. She leaves to mourn the loss of a loving mother, five daughters, Mrs. Dean Shaw, South Alton; Mrs. James Lowe, North River; Mrs. Alice Abbott, Bath, New Hampshire; Mrs. Norah Veinotte, Farmington; Mrs. John Nauss, Newburn; and two sons, Percy, Greenfield and Clyde, at home; also two sisters, Mrs. George Armburg, North River; and Mrs.Charles Fadden, Littleton, New Hamsphire. She is also survived by thirty-seven grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. Her husband predeceased her sixteen years ago.
Dated 1935.

Mark Marshall Veinot 1980 Bridgewater Bulletin
Mark Marshall Veinot, 75, of 45 Walnut Street, Bridgewater, passed away on Friday, May 9, at the Dawson Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Robert and Amanella (Hebb) Veinot.
He was service manager at the former Rafuse Motors Limited in Bridgewater.
Surviving are his wife, the former Olive Lohnes; a daughter, Marcia, at home; a son, Robert, Sudbury, Ontario; a granddaughter, Jessie, at home; a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Lonergan, Worcester, Mass.; and two brothers, Arthur, Worcester, Mass.; and Harris, Waltham, Mass.
He was predeceased by a sister and two brothers.
The body rested at Sweeny's Funeral Home. Funeral service was held Monday, May 12, at 11 a.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, with Rev. W. Eric Ingraham and Rev. Brian Hutchins officiating. Burial was in the family plot, Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
Pallbearers were Paul Bruhm, Earl Bushen, Harold Lantz, Murray Schnare, Roy Selig, and Gerald Veinot.

Hibbert Jodrey Unknown Newspaper
Handwritten date: February 14, 1919.
The funeral of the late Hibbert Jodrey took place from the residence of his sons, Friday morning at eleven o'clock, and was largely attended. Rev. Mr. Bent officiated.
The pall bearers were Messrs. Albert Corcoran, Charlie Patterson, Max Jordan, and Walter Welton. Burial took place at the Oaks.
He had been in failing health for about a year with heart trouble.
He died on the 14th. day of February, 1919 and was 68 years of age.
He leaves a sorrowing wife and nine children; also one sister at New Cornwall. The children are three sons, Percy at Greenfield; Arthur at Black River; and Clyde, at home; six daughters, Alice at New Hampshire; Nora at New Burne; Edna at South Alton; Ida and Annie, at North River; and Blanche, at home; and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss.

Hibbert Maynard Dorey, 66, of New Burne, Lunenburg County, was buried in Upper Cornwall following funeral service Wednesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bridgewater.
Born in New Burne, he was a son of the late Truman and Sarah (Hallamore) Dorey.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Mansfield; three daughters, Irene (Mrs. Donald Beck), New Burne; Kathleen (Mrs. Raymond Beck), Berwick; and Joan, Wileville; four sons, Stanley, Berwick; Maynard, Wileville; Carmen, New Cornwall; and Bernard, Bridgewater; and four brothers, Sampson, Halifax; Alexander, Tusket; Murray, Ontario; and Jonathon, Beech Hill.

Mrs. Ada L. M. Lohnes - The tolling of the bell at Upper Northfield Church on Friday, November 2nd, announced the death of another one of our elderly residences, Mrs. Ada Lohnes, widow of the late Milledge Lohnes of this place. She was 74 years and two months of age and was born at New Cornwall, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Veinot. She was in failing health since early Spring but her sudden passing was unexpected. She was a member of Mt Calvary Lutheran Church, a member of the Lutheran Sewing Circle, and a former member of the W M S. Her funeral services were held on Sunday, November 4th, at the church at Upper Northfield, and was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Wilfred Myra.
The text was taken from St. John, chapter 14, verse 6. Hymns sung were: Jesus Savior, Pilot Me", "Nearer My God To Thee", and "Peace, Perfect Peace". The pallbearers were Foster and Winslow Lohnes, Wilfred Jodrey and James Penney. She is survived by one son, Pearlie, of Upper Northfield; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; also one sister Mrs. Mary McCarthy of Cambridge, Mass; and two brothers, Charles of Upper Northfield and Obediah of Kentville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband predeceased her five years ago.
