LANGILLE, Enos Brenton - 91, Scarsdale, Lunenburg Co., died October 3, 1999, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Newburne, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Solomon and Lucretia (Powers) Langille. He worked as a carpenter and painter most of his life and was a member of Barss Corner United Baptist Church. Surviving are daughter, Gloria Robar, Bridgewater; stepson, Ross Robar, North River; three grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Vera Belle; five daughters: infant twins, Esther, Shirley, Greta; great-granddaughter, Stephanie; sister, Ida; brothers, Wallace, Charles, Joshua, Edwin. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Langille’s Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Barss United Baptist Church, Rev. Greg Denton officiating. Burial to follow in Barss Corner Community Cemetery. Donations to Barss Corner United Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society or IWK Grace Foundation.

NAUSS, Cornelia Louise - 95, passed away January 22, 2006, in Shoreham Village, Chester, where she was a resident. Born in East River Point, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Lucy (Rost) and James Nauss. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In her early years she taught in the one-room schoolhouses in Canaan and North West Cove. Later she worked for the Department of Northern and Indian Affairs for the federal government in Ottawa. She retired in 1976 and returned to her new home in East River in 1977. She volunteered at Bonny Lea Farm and was active in Christian Women's Club, supporting it in various capacities. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and the great outdoors, walking and gardening. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Anna Mae Webber, Jean Finney, Fran DeLong, Jay Nauss, Janet Harrison, Barbara Stewart, John Nauss, Dale Nauss, Wayne Nauss, Marilyn Keddy, Bernard Nauss, Betty Hennigar, Joan Darcy, Lynette Joy, Phillip Grey and Nancy Jamison, and cousin, Ella Rost. She was predeceased by sisters, Salida Dauphinee, Mae Millett, Edith Butler, and Doris Grey; brothers, Austin, Clinton, Clark and Leslie, and in infancy, Bernard, Ellis, Violet and Ronald. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held in St. George's Anglican Church, East River on Tuesday, January 24, at 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Bonny Lea Farm or St. George's Anglican Church through Davis Funeral Home, Chester.

Maurice Milford Hubley - 77, Farmington, Lunenburg Co., passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2003 in Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, where he had been residing. Born in Farmington, he was a son of the late Percy and Ada (Crouse) Hubley. Surviving are his daughter, Rochelle Hubley, Williamswood; sons, Farrell, Ontario; Percy, Pinehurst; Wade, Wilmot; Brian, Timberlea; Sheldon, Barss Corner; Christopher, Farmington. Sisters, Beulah Rafuse, Parkdale; Evangeline Wentzell, Bridgewater; Marguerite Chliszczyk, London, Ont; Lucy Veinot, Nictaux. Brothers, Lester, Head of St. Margaret's Bay; Paul, Harrietsfield. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, second wife, the former Doris Arenburg, New Ross; third wife the former Sandra MacKay, Williamswood. He was predeceased by sons Brian in infancy and Wayne, granddaughter Kendra Bezanson, first wife, Marjorie (Robar). Visitation 7 - 9 p.m. Friday in Sweeny's Funeral Home, #4895
route 10, New Germany. A public graveside service will be held in Parkdale Community Cemetery, at a later date. Family flowers only, donations may be made to New Germany and Area Medical Centre, Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.

LANGILLE, Vera Belle - 69, Searsdale, Lunenburg Co., died February 17, 1999, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co. Born in North River, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Flora (Robar) Robar. She was a member of Barss Corner United Baptist Church, Baptist Ladies Auxiliary and Women’s Institute. She worked as an egg grader and as a housekeeper. Surviving are her husband, Enos; son, Ross, North River, Lunenburg Co.; sister, Margaret, Aylesford; half-sisters, Juanita Sarty, Bridgewater; Carolyn (Mrs. Archie Levy), Ontario; Helen (Mrs. Larry Woodworth), New Minas; Beulah (Mrs. Eddie Jollimore), Liverpool; brothers, Mervyn, Hebbs Cross; James, Springfield; Richard, San Fransisco, Calif.; Alister, North River; a granddaughter. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Langille’s Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, February 19, in Barss Corner United Baptist Church, Barss Corner, Rev. Karl Uhrstrom officiating. Burial in the Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Barss Corner, Lunenburg Co. Donations to Barss Corner United Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society or IWK Grace Health Centre.

WHYNOT, Kerry Thomas - 90, Yarmouth, formerly of New Germany, died Sunday, November 17, 2002, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in New Germany, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Austin Harry and Laura Mae (Daniels) Whynot. He was a member of St. John's In The Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany and a member of Pinegrove IOOF Lodge, No. 111, New Germany. He is survived by sister, Daisy Oickle, Yarmouth. He was predeceased by sisters, Elsie and Annie Mae; brother, Walter. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today with IOOF memorial service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, in St. John's In The Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany, Rev. John Clark officiating, assisted by Rev. Catherine Robar. Burial in Epworth Cemetery, New Germany, Lunenburg Co. Donations may be made to St. John's In The Wilderness Anglican Church or Canadian Diabetes Association.

MOORE, Dorothy Mary - 85, Middle Cornwall, died July 18, 1996, at the home of her daughter at Lake William. Born in Upper Cornwall, she was a daughter of the late Jared and Lily Barkhouse. She was a life member of Barss Corner Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, Rev. George Moore, Newton, N.H.; Arthur, St. Margarets Bay; Douglas, Newburne; Llewellyn, Stanburn; daughters, Hazel DeLong, Barss Corner; Helen Rennie, New Germany; Frances Wentzell, Scarsdale; Annie Wood, Inglisville; Margaret Mansfield, New Germany; Florence Wentzell, Middle Cornwall; Ethel Wentzell, Bridgewater; Ellen Wentzell, Maplewood; Marie Perron, Jonquiere, Que.; Irene Mader, Newburne; Ardith Bos, Stanburn; 49 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Langille, Aylesford; Elsie Wagner, Nellie Naugler, Nic- taux; Bessie Smith, Digby. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis; brothers, Cameron, Clinton, Pearlie, Loris; sisters, Maude, Myrtle. Visitation 24, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral 2 p.m. Monday in Barss Corner Baptist Church, Rev. Karl and Rev. Miriam Uhrstrom officiating. Burial in Barss Corner Baptist Cemetery. Immediate family flowers only. Donations to any charity.

Joshua A. Langille of Newburne, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully at the Dawson Memorial Hospital on September 7, 1977, at the age of 81 years.Born in Newburne, he was the son of Solomon and Victoria (Oickle) Langille.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elsie Neal; two sons, Lee of Barss Corner and Tracey, at home; a sister, Ida (Mrs. Harvey Zinck), Mahone Bay; and one brother, Enos of Farmington. Four brothers, William, Charles, Wallace, and Edwin predeceased him.
The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Gordon Rigby, was held at the Newburne Anglican Church. Interment was in the Newburne Cemetery.
Bearers were Roy Joudrey, Paul Naas, Eldridge and William Milbury, and Leaman and Gordon Wentzell.

Violet Lillian Young
East Dalhousie - Violet Lillian Young, 70, of East Dalhousie, died Sunday , Oct. 26, 1986 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lake Ramsey, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Amy (Keddy) Bezanson. She is survived by her husband Roger; four daughters, Jean (Mrs. James Deyotte), Simpson's Corner; Joyce (Harold Beals), West Paradise; Ruth Veinotte, Middleton, and Shirley Bezanson, Toronto; a son, Russell, Middleton; a sister, Sarah (Mrs. James Bond), Elona, B.C.; two half-sisters; Elizabeth (Mrs. Clayton Joudrey), Lake Paul, and Beatrice (Mrs. Harold Arenburg), Waterville; two brothers, Ralph, Kingston, and Edgar, New Ross; two half-brothers, Albert, Dalhousie, and James, Morristown; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Pearl, two half-sisters, Etta and Elsie; two brothers, William and Harold, and a half-brother, Nelson. The body is in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral service will be today at 10:30 A.M. in St. Crypians Anglican Church, East Dalhousie, Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

HILTZ, Roland Clifford - 72, Chester, died June 13, 1994, in Victoria General Hospital. Born at Marriotts Cove, he was a son of the late Clifford and Myrtle (Hiltz) Hiltz. He received his early education at Marriotts Cove and Bridgewater and graduated from Horton Academy of Acadia University in business, where he participated in many sports. During the Second World War, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force Training School, Stanley and after the war he worked in the office of F.W. Robinson, Kentville. While there, he was very active in the Kentville Lions Club. He was then employed with Ford Motor Company of Canada and for some years was co-owner of Hillside Motors Pontiac Buick Dealership, Charlottetown, P.E.I. He was a member of Chester Golf Club; Belvedere Golf Club, Charlottetown; sponsored and took a keen interest in midget hockey and junior golf and was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester. He is survived by two sisters, Marguerite (Mrs. Kirk Hennigar), Chester Basin; Phyllis (Mrs. Theodore Hilchie), Chester; two nieces, Janet (Mrs. J.B. Ells), Beverley Hennigar, both of Halifax; three nephews, Robin Hennigar, Kentville; Gary Hilchie, Charlottetown; Danny Hilchie, Coldbrook. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Rev. Kerry Bourke officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made St. Stephen's Anglican Church Memorial Fund or Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch.

Ralph Hamlet Acker
Bear River-Ralph Hamlet Acker,71, of Bear River, Annapolis County, died Friday March 18, 1979 in Middleton.
Born in Lake Pleasant, he was a son of the late David and Alice Acker.
He was a member of the Bear River Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and was a veteran of the second World War.
Surviving are four daughters, Jean (Mrs. James Deyotte),New Germany; Mrs. Shirley Bezanson and Ruth (Mrs. Owen Veinotte), both of Middleton; Joyce (Mrs. Harold Beals), Paradise; a son, Russell, Middleton; a brother,Ernest, Middleton; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body is at the Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton where funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in North Kingston cemetery. Donations may be made to Miller Hospital, Kentville.

NOWE, Arnold Kenneth - 50, Omemee, Ont., formerly of Lake Centre, died August 24, 1998, in Civic Hospital, Peterborough, Ont. Born February 8, 1948, in Bridgewater, he was a son of Arlene (Baker) Nowe, Lake Centre, and the late George Murray Nowe. Surviving are his wife, the former Gabriel Vaney; sons, Ryan, Jason; daughter, Julie, all at home; brother, Murray Jr., Pleasantville; sisters, Joyce Lohnes, Rhodes Corner; Ethel Dearman, Beaver Bank; Barbara Pye, Wellington; nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Donations to his family.

Christiana Veinotte - New Germany, Jan. 6 - The death of Mrs. Nathan Veinotte, Pinehurst, aged 79 years, occurred following an illness of five years. The deceased, who, before her marriage, was Miss Christiana Meisner, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meisner and was born at "The Ovens", Lunenburg. Surviving are her husband, two adopted daughters, Mrs. Alma Penney, Worcester, Mass.; Miss Ida Young at home; three brothers, Stephen, Cherryfield; Jeffrey and Samuel, New Germany; four sisters, Mrs. Cassie Deal, Meisner's; Mrs. Martha Conrad, New Germany; Mrs. Sarah Grimm and Mrs. John Morrison, Springfield. Another sister, Mrs. Joshua Tipert, New Germany, died a year ago, and a brother, William, of Meisner's Section, died some years ago. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon, at Pinehurst United Church with Rev. Colin MacRae officiating. Interment was made at Pinehurst cemetery. An adopted daughter, Mrs. Alma Penney, who was called here by the sickness and death of her foster mother, arrived here on Friday. She unfortunately could not make connections to be here for the funeral service.

Mrs. Emerson Keddy, 84, of Lake Ramsey died Monday in Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Lake Ramsey, the former Mary Luella Turner, she was the daughter of the late Isiah and Eliza (Saltzman) Turner. She is survived by six daughters, Effie (Mrs Ernest Connors), Vera (Mrs Clinton Keddy), both of Lake Ramsey, Gladys (Mrs Theodore Crocker), Goldie (Mrs Wilfred Burns), Velma (Mrs Colin McDermaid), all of Middleton, Eva (Mrs Carl Hiltz) Fraxville, three sons Hibbert, Forties Settlement; Ruben Bridgewater, Harry Colingwood, Ontario: Four sisters, Mrs Annie Porter, Kentville, Mrs Eva Sanford, Hazel (Mrs Claude Wambolt) both of Aylesford, Eunice, New Ross, one brother Henry, Lake Ramsey; 39 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, two daughters, one sister and three brothers. The body is at W.C. Hiltz Funeral Home, Kentville, Funeral service will be held 2.30 p.m. Thursday in Christ Church, New Ross. Rev. Kelvin Pretty officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.

FREEMAN (DeMone), Greta Kathleen - 68, Middleton, passed away suddenly on October 26, 2000, at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Margaretsville, she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Muriel (Harris) Veinotte. She was an adherent of Pentecostal Church, Ward Road. She enjoyed nature and family and friends were very important to her. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are daughters, Karen (DeMone) (Kevin) Hickling, New Minas; Michelle (DeMone) (Jerry) Bent, Nictaux; sisters, Shirley Veinotte Vance, Kimberly, B.C.; Mary Veinotte DeHaan, Hamilton, Ont.; brothers, Harold, Margaretsville; Gerald, Kimberly, B.C.; grandchildren, Angela (Darren) Armstrong, Windsor; Shawn Armstrong, Red Deer, Alta.; five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter, Deborah Denise (DeMone) Ross; grandson, Donald Ross. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and memorial service 2 p.m. Monday, both in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Mr. Carmen Crockett officiating. Burial in Bayview Cemetery, Margaretsville. Donations to Bayview Cemetery or charity of choice.
