VEINOT, Eugene Oscar - 88, Hemford, Lunenburg Co., died Friday, August 30, 2002, at home in Hemford. He was the son of the late Leander Rufus and Annie Mae (Snyder) Veinot. In his early years he attended school in Ontario and later worked in the woods in Hemford. He then went to work with the Maritime Tel & Tel for eight years and on to Nova Scotia Power Commission, starting as a power metre reader and working his way up to district supervisor and retired after 35 years of service. He was a member and Past Master of Hillcrest Masonic Lodge, New Germany for 58 years. He liked to work in his workshop and garden. He was an avid supporter of Hemford Fire Department and served as Fire Chief for many years. He served on the board of directors of Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, for 11 years. He was always willing to help out with the lodge, church or any community function. He was forever helping his friends and neighbours. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former Beatrice Mailman, Hemford; daughters, Sonia (Dan) Veno, Simpson's Corner; Sandra MacQuarrie (Richard Allen), Pleasant River; grandchildren, Hector, Toronto; Jeffrey, Bridgewater; Mardi (Lloyd) Smith, Nineveh; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Cody, both of Nineveh; great-granddaughter, Kailee MacQuarrie, Bridgewater; sister, Ola McMahon, Larder Lake, Ont. He was predeceased by infant son, Hilton Leander; brother, Aubrey. A Masonic service and visitation was held Monday in Langille's Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. today in Emmanuel United Church, Hemford, Rev. Nancy Price officiating. There will be a private committal service following the memorial service in Hemford Cemetery, for the family only. Donations may be made to the Emmanuel United Church, Hemford Cemetery, Hemford Fire Department or any charity of choice.
Wallace G. Langille
Relatives and friends here were saddened to receive the news of the death of Wallace G. Langille, Athol, Mass., September 5th, in Athol Memorial Hospital.
He was born 64 years ago in Newburne, son of the late Solomon and Victoria (Powers) Langille.
Besides his widow, the former Prudence Taylor, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. LaVerne DuBois of Newton, Mass.; three brothers, Charles of Middleton, U.S.A.; Enos of Farmington; Josh of Newburne; Mrs. Ida Zinck of Chester; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Langille was a night watchman at L.S. Starret Co. for 16 years. Previously he worked for 25 years at the Mount Herman School, Northfield. He was a member of Turner's Falls Baptist Church.
The funeral service was held from Higgins Funeral Home with Rev.Lester White of Northfield officiating. Beautiful floral tributes bore silent testimony of the esteem in which Mr.Langille was held by a host of relatives and friends.

ERNST, Llewellyn D. - 69, Blockhouse, died February 5, 1997, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site. Born in Blockhouse, he was a son of the late Joseph and Amy (Aulenback) Ernst. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 18 years with National Sea Products, Lunenburg. He is survived by his wife, Isabel (Hebb) Ernst; brother, Claude and wife Helen; godchild, Eugenie Ernst, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Visiting will be in the Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay, this evening from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Linda Macdonald officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. Memorial donations may be made to SHAID Animal Shelter, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or any other charity.
Mrs. E. G. Coleman
The death of Mrs. Eleanor Jean Coleman, wife of Edward G. Coleman, 145 John Street, Moncton, occurred today at Moncton Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Astle and Ida Mae (Bailey) Thomson. Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Leandre LeBlanc (Carole) of Moncton; three sons, Robert and Ronald, both of Moncton and Wayne of St. Margarets; two sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Surrette of Petitcodiac and Mrs. Fred Goodall (Bessie) of Moncton plus several nieces and nephews, and eight grandchildren. The body is resting at Cadman's Funeral Home, 114 Alma Street. The funeral service will be Held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Cadman's Chapel. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Arlean G. Nowe
1919-2001
Arlean G. Nowe of Lake Centre passed away at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, September 21. She was born in Chelsea, Lunenburg County. She was the daughter of the late Malcolm Baker and Ida (Veinot) Baker.
She is survived by three daughters Joyce Lohnes, Rhodes Corner; Ethel (Reid) Dearman, Sackville; Barbara Pye, Wellington; one son Murray (Albena) Nowe, Pleasantville; one brother Garfield Baker, Newcombville; one sister Marion Getson, Springfield. She was predeceased by her husband George; son Arnold; sisters Lillian Lohnes and Shirley Keddy; brothers Charles and Herbert; granddaughter Vikki.
Funeral service was held at Corkum's Funeral Home, Wileville, Rev. Doug Porter officiating. Paul Haughn sang two hymns. Burial in Pleasantville Cemetery.

Mrs. (Fred) Grace Cora Oickle 1985
Family, relatives, and friends were deeply saddened on April 17, 1985, when Grace C. Oickle passed away at the Dawson Memorial Hospital. Although in poor health for some time, her death came as a profound shock to her relatives and friends.
She resided at 417 King Street, Bridgewater. The late Mrs. Oickle was born on June 12, 1901 at East Clifford, daughter of the late Stephen and Ida (Weagle) Crouse. She will be greatly missed by her family, relatives and friends.She leaves to mourn two sons, Paul, West Northfield; Cecil (Bobby), Pinehurst; three daughters, Mary (Mrs. Murray Veinotte), Aylesford; Leola (Mrs. Eugene McKean) and Pauline MacKay, Pinehurst; 20 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband Fred A. Oickle in 1949; five brothers, Ellard, Guy, Robert, Charlie, and Wallace; three sisters, Florence, Sadie and Laura; one grandchild, Rodger; two great grandchildren Mary MacKay and James McKean; son-in-law, Robert MacKay; daughters-in-law Julia and Lina Oickle. She was the last remaining member of her family.
Funeral services were held from Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, on Saturday, April 20, 1985, conducted by Rev. C.MacKenzie. Music was rendered by Mrs. Killam. Interment was in Pinehurst Community Cemetery.
MILFORD VEINOT
Mahone Bay - Milford Veinot, 74, of Mahone Bay and formerly of Hemford, Lunenburg County, died Wednesday Feb. 01, 1978 in Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Hemford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Minna (Hirtle) Veinot. Surviving is one son Everett, Bloomington, Annapolis County; one sister Beryl (Mrs. Stanley Jagodzinski ), Reynoldsburg, Ohio; three brothers, Nelson and Lloyd, both of Simpson Corner, Lunenburg County; Terry, Springfield, Lunenburg County; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. he as predeceased by three brothers. The body is at the Mahone funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral will be Saturday at 3pm in the Hemford Immanuel Union Church, Rev. Rolf Meindel officiating. Burial will be in the Hemford Cemetery.
CONRAD, Madeline Elizabeth - 81, Conquerall Bank, died May 17, 1996, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Emma (Melanson) Williams. Surviving are sons, George, Bridgewater; Bernard, Conquerall Mills; Edward, West LaHave; daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Beaumont Nowe), Conquerall Mills; Marie (Mrs. Winfred Daurie), Betty (Mrs. Lorraine Knickle), North West; Anne (Mrs. Donald Wamboldt), New Cumberland; Christine (Mrs. David Dares), Back Centre; Rosalind (Mrs. Robert Joudrey), Conquerall Bank; sister, Janet Williams, Conquerall Bank; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, William; daughter, Alma Slauenwhite; brothers, George, Victor, Albert, Jim, Arthur; grandchildren, Todd Wamboldt, Shirley Joudrey, Miranda Dares. Mrs. Selena Jodrey
Mrs. Selena Jodrey, one of the oldest and highly respected residents of Branch LaHave, passed to her eternal rest on Thursday, March 6th, after an illness resulting from a fall on October 4, 1944, which caused her since that time to be confined to her bed. During this period, which she bore with great patience and fortitude, she was tenderly cared for by her daughter-in-law, Celia. At the advanced age of 94 on February 18, she was still of the same jovial disposition, which had endeared her to both young and old, and she still enjoyed having her friends, which were many, call to see her. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Veinot, and was born in Northfield. Her husband, Alfred Jodrey, predeceased her 32 years ago, also her only daughter, Effie and two sons, Amos and Arthur. Surviving are two sons, Wallace of Stanburne and Urban of Branch LaHave, with whom she resided; one brother, Amos Veinot of East Dalhousie; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Stanley G. MacQueen, of the United Church, of which deceased was a member, on Saturday afternoon, March 8. A short service and hymn, "Abide With Me" was held at the home, after which the funeral cortege proceeded to the Baptist Church, New Canada, where a comforting message was delivered from her favourite text, "Many are called but few are chosen." Hymns sung were "Rock of Ages," "Good Night Here and Good Morning Up There, " and " Nearer My God to Thee."
Interment was in the family lot at Lakeside Cemetery, New Canada. The pall-bearers were her four grandsons, Raymond, Alfred, LeRoy, and George Jodrey.

NOWE, George Murray Sr. - 80, Lake Centre, Lunenburg Co., died January 28, 1997, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Conquerall Mills, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late George and Hattie (Whynott) Nowe. Surviving are his wife, the former Arlean Baker; daughters, Joyce Lohnes, Rhodes Corner; Ethel (Mrs. Reid Dearman), Windsor; Barbara Pye, Wellington; sons, Murray Jr., Pleasantville; Arnold, Omemee, Ont.; sisters, Audrey Baldwin, Fancy Lake; Arlean (Mrs. Ken Lang), Montreal; brother, Owen, Beaumont, both of Conquerall Mills; 13 grandchidlren; seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Marshell; granddaughter, Vickie. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 1:30 p.m. Friday, both in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Rev. Douglas Porter officiating. NAUSS, Clark Wilson - East River Point, Lunenburg Co., passed away October 13, 2000, in the Veterans' Wing of the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in East River Point, he was a son of the late James and Lucy (Roast) Nauss. He was a Second World War veteran and a member of E. Butler Branch No. 44 Royal Canadian Legion Chester. He is survived by daughters, Janet Harrison, Chilliwack, B.C.; Barbara Stewart (Barry), Saint John, N.B.; son, John Nauss (Mary Ann), East River Point; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cornelia Nauss, Shoreham Village Home, Chester; Edith Butler, East River. He was predeceased by brothers, Austin, Clinton, and Leslie; sisters, Salida Dauphine, Mae Millett and Doris Grey.
The family will receive visitors 6-9 p.m.today, also a legion tribute will be held 7 p.m. today, both in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. The funeral service will be held in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Chester, 11 a.m. Monday, October 16, Rev. Sean A. Taylor officiating. Interment will be in East River Point Cemetery following the service. Donations may be made to St. George's Anglican Church, East River Point or charity of donors choice.
