HALL, Goldie Jean - 80, Watford, Lun. Co., passed away Sunday, January 21, 2001, in the Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. Born in Watford, she was a daughter of the late Sanford A. and Jennie A. (Silver) Veinot. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield. Surviving are her sons, Ivan Veinot and Michael Hall, both of Watford; sisters, Ola Ernst, Upper Northfield and Vera Beck, Watford; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Hall and an infant brother, Ivan. Visitation for family and friends was 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the New Germany Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany and where funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. today, Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Interment in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Germany. MacEAHERN, Bernard Vincent - 50, Monastery, Antigonish Co., died July 31, 1999, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital. Born in Antigonish, he was the son of Rita (Grant) and the late Leo MacEachern. He graduated from St. Andrew Rural High School in 1966 and from St. Fancis Xavier University with a bachelor of education degree in 1972. Most of his teaching career was spent at Chedabucto Elementary School, Guysborough. He taught the 1998-99 term at Havre Boucher Consolidated. He is survived by his wife, Diane MacDonald; daughters, Danna; Megan, at home; sons; Michael, Scott, at home; sister, Madonna Boucher, Monastery; brothers, Ray; Havre Boucher; Grant; Cedric; Jim, Monastery; Donald, Mississauga; Allan, Pictou; Greg, Ottawa; several foster brothers and sisters. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Place, Tracadie. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie, Rev. John Barry officiating. TURNER, Violet Zilpha - 86, New Germany, died January 18, 1994, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at Simpsons Corner, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late James and Amanda (Oickle) Emino. She was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany; past member of the church council; an honorary member of the ACW; member of the New Horizons Seniors Club; volunteer at Rosedale Home for Special Care and past treasurer of Union Church, Simpsons Corner. She is survived by a daughter, Faye (Mrs. Ray Russell), New Germany; two sons, Maynard Varner, New Germany; Basil Varner, Timberlea; sister, Mabel Snyder, Simpsons Corner; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Varner; second husband, Walter Turner; four sisters, Mildred, Doris, Claudia, Alda; five brothers, George, Everett, Garfield, Robert, Charles. JUDKINS, Helen V. - 91, Farmington, formerly of Dixfield, Maine, died Wednesday, September 27, 2000, at her home at 80 Main St. Born in New Germany on May 4, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Rupert and Naomi (Feindel) Varner, her family moved to Dixfield, Maine in 1921. Mrs. Judkins graduated from Dixfield High School in 1926. She continued her education and graduated from Farmington Normal School in 1928 and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Farmington State Teacher's College in 1958. Her 43 years of teaching career began in Livermore schools. She later was employed in Hebron, Lovell and Newry schools and in 1974 retired after serving in Bethel schools of 30 years. Mrs. Judkins was a member of the Dixfield Congregational Church, the Bear River Grange, Newry, the Bethel Historical Society and the Oxford County and Maine Teacher's Association. She was a former member of the Oxford County Extension Service, Dixfield, Maine and was a former member of the Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She was a life member of the National Teachers Association. In 1979, she married Paul A. Judkins Sr., Dixfield, Maine. Mr. Judkins died April 7, 1995. Survivors include three stepchildren, Paul A. Jr. and his wife Cynthia, Farmington; Janice Lewis and her husband Edmund Lewis, Farmington; Merton and his wife Carla, Ripley, Tenn.; nine step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great great-grandchildren; many cousins from both Canada and the United States.
Mrs. Lloyd Veinotte 52 of 12 Ward Road, Greenwood Nova Scotia; died Monday May 14 1984, at home.
Born in Bridgewater, she was the former Elizabeth (Betty) Vivien Dorey, a daughter of the late Simoen and Mae (Joudery) Dorey.
She is survived by her husband; Lloyd, a daughter; Darlene Warde both of Greenwood, N.S., six sisters, Daisy Sonnich, Bridgewater; Myrna Wile, Midville Branch; Phoebe Fancy and Evelyn (Mrs. Clyde) Fancy both of Middlewood; Hazel Grant, Toronto, Ont.; Linda Moggy, Manboulin, Ont.; four brothers; Allan, Eldon, Lloyd; all of Bridgewater, Clarence, Moncton, N.B.; and 2 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Grace.
The body rested in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, N.S.
Funeral was held Thursday, May 17, 1984 from St. Cyprians Anglican Church, East Dalhousie, N.S., Rev. Gordon Neish officiating, with burial in church cemetery.

NELSON LYNN VEINOT
Nelson Lynn Veinot, 81, of 226 Spring Street, Portland Maine, passed away in Portland Hospital Tuesday, March 31, 1981 after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Ninevah, Lunenburg County, a son of Joseph and Minna(Hirtle) Veinot. After attending school and as a young man, Mr. Veinot moved to Bangor, Maine, and was employed as a woodsman for a short time. He later worked with the A. and P. Bakery till retiring at the age of 65. Surviving besides, his wife, Phoebe ( Bucknam) Veinot, are three sons, Nelson L. Jr., Joseph of Portland, and Harold R. of Sanford, Maine. two stepsons, Reginald McKenney and Gordon McKenney; a stepdaughter Margaret-Curran, all of Portland; a brother Lloyd of Simpson's Corner, Lunenburg County; a sister Beryl of Reynoldburg, Ohio, USA.
Funeral service was held at 11 A.M. Friday at the funeral home of Hay and Peabody, 749 Congress Street, Rev. Arthur Moore officiating with burial in the Forest Hill Cemetery, South Portland.

Laura Naas, 86, Walden, Lunenburg County, died Tuesday, July 3, 1990 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Upper Cornwall, she was a daugher of the late Josiah and Ada (Nauss) DeMont. She was a member of St.
Mark's Lutheran Congregation of St. Mark's Union Church, Walden. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elma Crossland, Clearland; Erna (Mrs. Lloyd Veinotte), Upper Cornwall;
several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Stuart; a sister, Violet. The body is in Mahone Funeral Home, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, St. Mark's Union Church, Walden,

VEINOTTE, David Leroy - 61, Aylesford, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, September 28, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in East Dalhousie, he was a son of the late Harold and Violet (Zinck) Veinot. David was retired from Thompson's Transfer after 30 years of driving and continued to enjoy spending his time in the woods, hunting and fishing with his brother, Hartley. He was a huge fan of country music, was an avid collector, enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and was artistic in drawing and painting. He will be sadly missed by his lifelong companion, Barb Veinotte (Naugler); children, David, Middleton; Douglas (Julie), Middleton; Denyse (Phillip Archibald), Lashburn, Sask.; stepdaughter, Debbie (Arthur) Crouse, Lashburn, Sask.; grandchildren, Tanya (Joe) Adams, Chelsea, Kate, Kyle, Matthew, Corey, AJ, Kayden and Lee Archibald; sisters, Ruth (Ronald) Aalders, Coldbrook; Geneva (John MacDonald), Nictaux Falls; brothers, Dale (Kaye), Kingston; Hartley (Myrna), Aylesford; Wade (Faye), Cambridge; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, David was predeceased by grandparents; several aunts and uncles and one nephew. Cremation has taken place and no visitation by request. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, October 3, in Nictaux Cemetery with a reception to follow in Nictaux Fire Hall. Born in Conquerall Mills, he was a son of the late George and Hattie Nowe. He is survived by daughters, Linda (Jack) Murphy, Conquerall Mills; Suzanne Nowe (Owen Crouse), Lower Branch; grandchildren, Craig (Lillian ) Oakes, Conquerall Mills; Jaye Murphy, Halifax; Nadia Murphy (Tyler Naugler), Halifax; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Devin and Cassandra Oakes; sisters, Audrey Baldwin, Arlene Lang; brother, Beaumont. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Vera Stewart; brothers Marshall and Murray.A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 13 in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater. A private family burial will be held in St. James' Anglican Church Cemetery, Conquerall Mills, at a later date.
HILCHIE, Wharton Herbert - 81, Chester, passed away peacefully April 1, 2007, in Shoreham Village Home for Special Care. Born in Chester, he was a son of the late Captain Harold and Essie Hilchie. Wharton was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church and F.E. Butler Branch 44, Royal Canadian Legion, Chester; a past member of Chester Golf Club and Curling Club. He served in the reserve army during the Second World War. He also worked with his father aboard transfer boats delivering goods and people to ships in Bedford Basin, which were preparing to go overseas. He worked for many years in the wholesale and retail fish businesses, on his own and with Hilchie Bros. Ltd. In his younger years, he was an avid hockey player, being a great asset to the Chester Ravens. In his retirement, he enjoyed playing pool at Chester Legion with and against his brother, George. Wharton is survived by brother, George, Chester; stepson, James Smith, Shelburne; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Smith), and his long-time companion, Aggie Parker; brothers, Theodore and Frank; sisters, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Marie. There will be no visitation or flowers at Wharton's request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in the Royal Canadian Legion, Chester, with Father Jim McCorriston and Legion Chaplain Dick Logan officiating. Burial at a later date. Donations in Wharton's memory may be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church Building Fund or Shoreham Village Palliative Care Unit. Arrangements have been entrusted to Davis Funeral Home, Chester.
