ZWICKER, Arthur William - 76, South Alton, Kings Co., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Tuesday, June 11, 2002, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Weston, Kings Co., he was the son of the late William and Naomi (Boylan) Zwicker. He was employed in ship repair with Brookfield Construction, Halifax, as a burner with Halifax Shipyards, and in 1968 began teaching as a welding instructor and driver education instructor at Kings Regional Vocational School, Kentville, retiring in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Margaret (Richard); daughters, Dr. Sonia Gaul, Kentville; Debbie (Gary) Huntley, Coldbrook, Kings Co.; Narda (Jeff) Hovell, Fall River, Halifax Co.; Karna (Tom Morton), Kingsport, Kings Co.; sons, A. LaVerne (Edith Sanford), Halifax; Richard (Clara), Windsor Junction, Halifax Co.; grandchildren, Joanne, Stephen, Robbie, Jan, Neil, Tawnya, Heather, Dane, Codi, Kirk and Kelly; great-grandchildren, Emily and Kira. He was predeceased by his sister, Muriel Gaul. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 8 p.m. today in W.C. Hiltz Funeral Parlour, Kentville. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, Father Craig Christenson and Father Gerald Saulnier officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
CARVER, Weldon B. - 43, West Caledonia, Queens Co., passed away suddenly at home, August 14, 2007. Born in Caledonia, he was a son of Doris (Armstrong) Carver and the late Gerton Allan Carver. Weldon was a former stationary engineer with Gummed Paper Limited of Brampton, Ont. He sheared Christmas trees for Kirk's tree yard and was an equipment operator for Freeman's Mill in Greenfield. He was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays, and loved to fish and hunt. Weldon loved to play darts and cards and was a former associate member with A.L. Patterson Branch 87, Royal Canadian Legion, Caledonia. He is survived by daughter, Stevi MacIntosh, Lockeport; sons, G. Allan and MacKenzie, both of Caledonia; sisters, Helen (George) Uhlman, Janet (Freddie) Weare, both of Caledonia; Jeanne (Stephen) Martin, West LaHave; Carolyn (Hilton) Veinot, Hemford; Rosanna (John) Terpstra, Barrie, Ont.; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 21, at 2 p.m. in Caledonia United Church, Pastor Tom Watson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Caledonia. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the North Queens Fire Association, The Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia or charity of your choice.
Mrs. Florence Evelene Fancy
NEW GERMANY - Mrs. Florence Eveline, wife of Guy Fancy of East Dalhousie, died at the Halifax Convalescnet Home on Wednesday, after two years of illness.
Born in Forties Settlement, 52 years ago, Mrs. Fancy was the daughter of Edward and Loretta (Bezanson) Keddy.
Surviving besides her parents and husband are two daughters, Rehna (Mrs. Charles Joudrey) of Cherryfield Road; Greta (Mrs. Errol Crossland) of East Dalhousie; two sons, Arnold and Grover of East Dalhousie; two sisters Alberta (Mrs. George Rhodenizer) of Lunenburg; Frances (Mrs. Hibbert Keddy) of Forties and six brothers, Seward of Lake Ramsey; Lloyd, Gordon, George, Douglas, all of Forties; and Theordore of Truro.
The funeral service was conducted from the Anglican Church, East Dalhousie, with Rev. Richard Mowrey officiating. Interment was in the Anglican cemetery in East Dalhousie.

LEADLEY, William - 72, Lower Sackville, died April 16, 1999, at home. Born in Halifax, He was a son of the late Leonard and Marie (Bell Fountain) Leadley. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of Sackville seniors bowling league. He was also a member of Sackville Legion Seniors Club. Surviving are son, David, Lower Sackville; brothers, Doug, Georgie, Harold, Halifax; Edward, Calgary, Alta.; companion, Cheryl Robicheau. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jean Hennberry; daughters, Brenda Lee and Darlene; a son in infancy; sister, Shirley Reid. Visitation 7-9, p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Funeral 10 a.m. Tuesday, in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Gerald David officiating. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, reception to follow in the funeral home.

HEBB, Myrtle Geraldine - 94, Wileville, died July 1, 1999 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Hebbs Cross, she was the daughter of the late Enos and Alice (Hebb) Nowe. She was a dedicated school teacher for many years, an employee of Stedmans Store, Bridgewater, taught Sunday School and was secretary of Unit 1 of the Bridgewater United Church until the age of 92. She was a long time correspondent for the Bridgewater Bulletin, writing the Wileville news. Surviving are daughters, Margaret Matchett, Windsor, Ont.; Glenda Brown, Wileville; sons, Bobby, Joe, Wileville; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George Prior Hebb; son, William (Billie) Hebb; brother, Arnold. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bridgewater United Church, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
Mrs. Lucretia Victoria Oickle passed away suddenly at her home in Farmington, Lunenburg County, on Monday, October 10th, 1960. Born in Newburne, ninety years ago, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Veinot) Powers. She was twice married; her first husband, Solomon Langille passed away fifty-two years ago and her second husband, Jeremiah Oickle, passed away thirty-eight years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Ida (Mrs. H.S. Zinck) of Chester; and four sons, Charlie of Middleton, Massachusetts; Wallace of Athol, Massachusetts; Joshua of Newburne; and Enos of Farmington, with whom she resided; also one sister, Mrs.Ella Lyons of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
The funeral service was held from the Newburne Anglican Church with Rev. T.B. Purvis officiating.Hymns sung were "Jesus, Lover of My Soul, " "Safe in the Arms of Jesus, " and "Nearer, My God to Thee."
The pall bearers were Robert Taylor, John Baker, Ralston Eisener, and Robert Feener.
Interment was in the Newburne Cemetery.
Elsie Evelyn Langille
Elsie Evelyn Langille, 93, Newburne, died Wednesday, August 29, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in LaHave, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Arenburg) Neil. She is survived by three sons, Lee, Farmington; Tracey, Newburne; Andrew Hirtle, Mahone Bay; two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joshua; an infant daughter, Belle; two infant twin sons, Victor, Vincent; three sisters, Mary, Belle, May; three brothers, Angus, Arthur, Leeman. The body is in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Transfiguration Anglican Church, Newburne, Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating.
Burial will be in Newburne Cemetery. Donations may be made to Transfiguration Anglican Church.

LLOYD BERTRAND VEINOT - The many friends and relatives of the late Lloyd B. Veinot were saddened to hear of his passing away at Simpson's Corner at the age of 80 years. Born in Nineveh, Lunenburg County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Minna (Hirtle) Veinot. In 1940, he enlisted in the Second World War, serving as a gunner in the First Anti-Aircraft Battery until returning home in 1942. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and also War Medal 1939-1945. After returning home he worked as a woodsman for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his wife, the former Goldie May Lowe; two daughters, Sherry Gail Veinot, New Germany, Jeannette Woodworth, Hem ford, a son Bramer Nictaux, a sister Beryl Jogodzinski, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by six brothers, Everet, Terry, Lawrence, Nelson, Oren and Melford. The funeral service was held on Tuesday August 16, 1988 and Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany with Rev. Les Robertson officiating. Organist was Harley Rhoddy, Simpson's Corner. Hymns rendered were "Rock of Ages", and "The Lord is My Shepherd, burial was in the Simpson's Corner Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Raymond Durling, Randolph Conrad, Eddie Lohnes, Gilford Hyson, Rex Veinot, and Milton Snyder.
