VEINOT, Beverly Nelson 'Bev' — 58, of Torbrook, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at home. Born in Torbrook, he was a son of the late Cecil and Florence (Prime) Veinot. Bev loved his children and es­pecially his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. Bev loved history and enjoyed collecting coins. He was also fond of horse and oxen pulls. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, who was patiently waiting, like many oth­ers, for them to win another Stanley Cup. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Veinot, Kingston; sons, Shawn (Brendalee Bushey), Aylesford; Justin (Rose), Cole Harbour; sisters, Joan Barkhouse, Nictaux; Sandra Be­zanson (Phil Rucheleau), Kingston; Deborah (John) Foster, Mount Hanley; Velvet (Lloyd) Veinot, Nictaux; broth­ers, Aubrey (Margaret), Winnipeg; Cecil 'Junior' (Linda), Torbrook; Robert (Carol), Levack, Ont.; Rodney (Karen), Torbrook; Carroll (Sharon), East Torbrook; Washington, Torbrook; Clinton, Torbrook; Archie (Lori), Fort McMurray, Alta.; grandchildren, Seth Veinot, Kade Veinot, Isaac Veinot, Abigail Veinot, Carleigh Veinot and numerous nieces and neph­ews. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday, November 6, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 where a funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, November 7, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Private fam­ily interment will be in Nictaux Com­munity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

MRS. ALDEN WHYNOTTE
The death took place on Oct. 2, 1963, of Abigail, widow of the late Alden Whynotte of North River, and daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Demone of that place. Mrs. Whynotte was 88, and during her illness was tenderly cared for by her daughter, Alma, and her husband, (Mr. and Mrs. Vernon DeMone), Springfield. For some years she had resided with a grandson, Louis Whynotte, in the old home in North River. previous to her illness. Surviving are three daughters, Alma (Mrs. DeMone); Effie (Mrs. A. Iyoupe), of New Cornwall; Freda, (Mrs. Michael Gabriel) of North River; three sons, Martin and Harold of North River, and Irving, of Boston. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Lorimer, Carey, and Pearlie, all of North River; Maynard, of New Ross; and Oran, Falkland Ridge. Seveal sisters predeceased her. Funeral services were held in North River Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 5, by Rev. Mr. O"Connor. Hymns by the choir were "Nearer to Thee" and "There is a Land of Pure Delight". Mrs. Rufus Robar was organist. Pall bearers were Garfield Conrad, Ladonia Selig, Leander Robar, and Gordon Simmons. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, and much appreciated by Mrs. Vernon DeMone and other members of the family.
Burial was in North River Cemetery. Sympathy is expressed to all bereaved.

Ruben Charles Daniels, 79, of Bridgewater, died Thursday in the Dawson Memorial Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Bridgewater he was the son of Benjamin and Lydia (Zwicker) Daniels. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Joudrey; two sons Norman and James both of Bridgewater; five daughters, Pearl (Mrs. Robert Gallant) and Jean, both of Bridgewater; Mrs. Shirley Gear, of Wileville; Peggy (Mrs. Michael Godfrey) Daysprings; Ruth (Mrs. Herbert Myles) Spryfield; one sister, Elizabeth, First Peninsular; one brother, Enoch, Spryfield; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sons and one daughter.
The body is at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where funeral will be held at 2 pm Saturday, Rev. W. Ott officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.

DANIELS, Helen Victoria - 96, Bridgewater, died October 3, 1998, in Hillside Pines Home for Special Care, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Louise (Ramey) Joudrey. Surviving are sons, Norman, Wileville; James, Oakhill; daughters, Pearl Gallant, Jean Daniels, Bridgewater; Shirley Gear, Peggy (Mrs. Michael Godfrey), Wileville; 31 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ruben; sons, Harris, Dougie, Richard; daughters, Beverly in infancy, Ruth Myles; brothers, Scott, Clarence, Doley, Spurgeon; sisters, May, Sadie, Nellie; grandsons, Ricky Daniels, Brian Myles; granddaughter, Helen Gallant. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday, both in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Immediate family flowers only. Donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

VEINOTTE (Varner), Wilma Myrtle - 48, East Dalhousie, Kings Co., died in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, November 5, 1999. Born in Stanburne, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Ruby (Joudrey)
Varner. Surviving are her husband, Gene; brothers, Charles, Pleasant River; Kenneth, East Dalhousie; Steven, East LaHave; Carl, Chester; sisters, Margaret Selig, Simson's Corner; Ivy Varner, Stanburne. She was predeceased by infant sister, Faye. At her request cremation has taken place with scattering of ashes at a later
date. Donations to IWK Grace Health Centre. Arrangements by family.

She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg. Surviving are daughters, Angela, Bridgewater; Annette, Chelsea; Kelly, Fauxburg; Shelley, North River; sons, Andrew, Lunenburg; Allan, Adam, Sheldon, at home; sisters, Wilma Veinotte, East Dalhousie; Margaret Selig, Simpsons Corner; Ivy Varner, Stanburne; brothers, Kenneth Varner, East Dalhousie; Steven Varner, East LaHave; Charles Varner, Pleasant River; Carl, Chester; five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert; an infant sister. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Archdeacon Reginald MacDonald officiating. Burial in Garden Lots Cemetery, Garden Lots. TRITES, Glendon Elery — 91, Mill­ville Kings Co., passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Millville on December 12, 1918, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Jessie (Gates) Trites. Glendon was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was the last surviving member of his im­mediate family. Surviving are his be­loved wife of 64 years, Ruby (Creemer) Trites; daughter, Janet (Roy) Nichols, Aylesford; sons, Russell (Joy Hoag), Millville; Donald (Cathy), Cornwall, P.E.I.; James, Aylesford; Ce­cil (Darlene), Truro; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his par­ents, he was predeceased by brother, Charles; sister, Beulah Balcom; half­brother, Alvin Uhlman; half-sisters, Lucy Hodges and Vera Mann. The fu­neral service will be held at 3 p.m., to­day, April 19, in Kingston United Bap­tist Church, 695 Hwy No. 1, Kingston, Rev. Leon Langille officiating with in­terment in Aylesford Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Glen­don’s memory may be made to a char­ity of one’s choice. Funeral arrange­ments have been entrusted to H. C. VEINOTTE, Vincent Clare 'Pat' — Bridge­water, passed away October 5, 2007, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Leander and Gretchen (Albrecht) Veinotte. Pat was a 30 year employee of MT&T; and sports enthusiast, enjoying golfing and curling in his retirement years. He is survived by his wife, Ethel (Bragg); daughter, Dawn (Brian) Mosher, Bedford; son, Todd, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Jayne and Sophie; sisters, Shirley Russell, Weymouth, Mass.; Julia (Gerry) Wentzell, Upper Dyke; brother, David, Mush-a-Mush; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, David, and a son in infancy; brothers, Robert and Douglas. A private family graveside service will be held in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bridgewater United Church, Heart and Stroke Founda­tion of Nova Scotia or charity of your choice. SALSMAN, Sidney McKinly - 75, Grandview Manor, Berwick, formerly of Grafton, died June 22, 1993, in the manor. Born in Waterville, Kings County, he was a son of the late Emery and Addie (Rogers) Salsman. He was a member of Waterville Baptist Church. He owned and operated his own mixed farm in Grafton for most of his life. He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Wentzell; three sons, Stanley, Halifax; Fred, at home; Emery, Upper Clements; two daughters, Patricia Johnson, at home; Beatrice, Sussex, N.B.; brother, Donald, Waterville; four sisters, Jessie Rafuse, Berwick; Molly Butts, Halifax; Lillian (Mrs. Blake Salsman), Somerset; June (Mrs. Stanley Salsman), Waterville; seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Beverly; five brothers, David, LeRoy, Nobel, William, Laurie. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, where funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. Leo Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Berwick Cemetery. FREDERICKS, Warren Gillis - 89, Carleton Corner, Bridgetown, died March 8, 1998, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in West Dalhousie, he was a son of the late Warren and Mary (Gillis) Fredericks. He was an avid sports hunter and fisherman and loved gardening. He was employed for a number of years at O.W. Graves, J.H. Hicks and Sons and retired after a number of years from the United Elastic as a stationary engineer. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown. Surviving are his wife, the former Alberta Veinott; sons, Warren Allen and wife Lila, Bridgetown; Jack Edwin, Wilmington, Mass.; daughters, Goldie Marie (Mrs. Clayton Vidito), May Shirley (Mrs. Donald Harris), both of Bridgetown, Audrey Frances (Mrs. Stewart Young), Kentville; Joan Loretta (Mrs. Garnett Hannam), Dartmouth; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Lina Taylor, Bridgewater; brother, Ralph Fredericks, Digby; a half-brother, Lawrence Hannam, Bridgetown. He was predeceased by brothers, Walter and Roy; sisters, Effie, Georgina, Leola, Gertrude, Leta; stepfather, William Hannam. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 p.m. Tuesday in Robert L. Hall Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Funeral service 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. James Anglican Church, Rev. Peter Young officiating. Private burial in Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown at a later date. GREGORY, Malcolm Ira - 87, Hillsburn, Annapolis Co., died November 14, 2004, in Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born in Young's Cove, he was a son of the late Warren and May (Sarty) Gregory. He was a quiet man who lived a simple life and was a very devoted husband and father. He is survived by sons, Henry (Wanetta), Young's Cove; Monty (Carol), Timberlea; Dale (Annette), Hillsburn; daughter, Prudy (Carl) Saunders, Grandville Ferry; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald, Nictaux; sisters, Ida Guest, Annapolis Royal; Grace Vidito, Nictaux. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Odessa Rafuse; sons, Allan, Anthony and Webster; brothers, Harry, Otis, Heubert, Henry, and Murray; sister, Olga Graham. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Hillsburn Baptist Church, Rev. Jeffrey George officiating. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas; son, Floyd; brothers, Otis, Henry, Hubert, Harry, Malcolm, and Murray; sisters, Olga, Lillian, Marguerite, Viva. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Lake Brook Baptist Church, Parkers Cover, Pastor Jeff George officiating. Interment will be in Condon Cemetery, Youngs Cove. Family flowers only. Milton (Tom) Sanford Mailman, 76, New Albany, died Monday in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in New Albany, he was a son of the late Joseph and Cassandra (Zinck) Mailman. He was a member of New Albany United Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Violet Silver; a daughter, Ellen (Mrs. Reg Sarty), Port Wade; a son, Reginald, Toronto; five sisters, Mrs. Willow Sheridan, Middleton; Mrs. Amanda Beals, Inglisville; Mabel (Mrs. Wilfred Lawrence), Clarence; Mrs. Nola Marshall, Westphal; Mrs. Minnie Neily, Kentville; a brother, Gordon, Middleton; a grandson. He was predeceased by four sisters, Erna, Rose, Gladys, Pearle; four brothers, Harry, Andrew, Fred, Joe. The body is in Warren T.Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in New Albany United Church, Dr.William MacDougall officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Albany.
