She was a long-time member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, a chartered member of the Ladies Fireside Club and a member of the Red Hat Society, Shoreham Chapter. Burt Lewis Oxner - Garden Lots, Lunenburg County - Burt Lewis Oxner, 73, of Garden Lots, died Wednesday at home. Born in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Wallace and Alice (Veinot) Oxner. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lunenburg. He was a retired employee of National Sea Products Ltd where he worked for 50 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Grace Evelyn Hynick; a daughter Geraldine (Mrs. Gerald Hannams), Lunenburg; a son Wayne, Liverpool; two stepsons; Clayton Strickland, Blue Rocks; and Charles Strickland, Garden Lots; a brother Owen, Lunenburg; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Born in New Germany, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Eldora (Lowe) Tipert. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a telephone operator; after retirement, she enjoyed traveling. She was an avid bowler with the New Germany and Area Senior's Bowling League. She was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church and Rosedale New Horizons Senior's Club. Sharon Sine, beloved wife of Orest of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the age of 61 years. Sharon was born on February 5, 1944 in Trois Rivieres, QC to Marion and Hazen Veno. She grew up in Baker Settlement, N.S. but moved to Halifax at the age of 11. Sharon graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts from Acadia University both in Nova Scotia. Sharon taught around the Halifax areas before moving to Calgary in 1971. She taught at SAIT for many years until her retirement. In recent years Sharon co-authored several editions of the Gregg reference manual which was published by McGraw-Hill, and is utilized by students and faculty members in Schools and Colleges all across Canada. Sharon's gentle manner and quick wit will be remembered by all who knew her. Sharon is survived by her husband, Orest Sine and her daughter, Stephanie Sine, both of Calgary, and also by her step-son, Geoffrey Sine of Winnipeg, MB. She will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her parents Marion and Hazen Veno. A Celebration of Sharon's life will be held at First Lutheran Church (Strathcona Blvd. and 14th Avenue S.W.) on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 1 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Prior to retirement, he was a school bus driver and custodian for 17 years, serving New Germany schools. STEWART, Charles Alexander -78, Cornwallis Park, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born February 26, 1930, in Milton, he was a son of the late Robert and Caroline (Henning) Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Cornwallis Park; daughter, Dorothy (Kenny) Chisholm, Halifax; sons, Darrell (Angela), Mirimichi, N.B.; Michael (Mary Anne), Elmsdale; Charles Jr. (Tammy), Lequille; brother, Rollie Stewart, Fort Erie; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by sisters: Minnie Stewart, Jean Doyle, Betty Cormier; brothers, John, Bobbie. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy 1952-1957 and the Reserve Navy for five years. Charles was a Commissionaire for 11 years at the Main Gate at CFB Cornwallis. He and his wife owned and operated Stewart Nursing Home in Annapolis Royal for 27 years. After retiring they moved to Cornwallis Park. Charles was a very caring, devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved life and always had cheering words to say to others. He will be greatly missed, but always remembered by family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and funeral service 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. For many years Elmore was an active member of St. Margaret's Anglican Church and a member of the Women's Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, L.B. She was predeceased by her husband, J.
