LEVY, Florence Grace - 94, Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg, died March13, 2000, in the Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in New Germany, she was a daughter of the late Ezzie and Emma (Conrad) Feindel. She was a member of Central United Church, Lunenburg and a member of the Mary Gormley Unit of the U.C.W. of the church. Elizabeth Florence was a 76 year member of the Alexandra Rebekah Lodge 22, Lunenburg. She is survived by her son, Bernard Levy, Mader's Cove; sisters, Mrs. Viola Wentzell, Brocton, Mass.; Mrs. Doretha Bergstrum, Worcester, Mass.; brother, Rodney, Rexdale, Ont.; grandchildren, Robert G. Levy, Mahone Bay; Wayne M. and his wife Janine Levy, Lunenburg; Janice Levy, Mabou; Karen E. Levy, Bridgewater; great-grandchildren, Stephan, Christine and Matthew Levy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey; daughter-in-law, Marie Levy; an infant daughter; sisters, Kaye, Lillian and Roxie; brothers, Russell, Bernard, Clarence and Linwood. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. 3, Lunenburg, with visitation held from 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, in Central United Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Grant Walls and Rev. Heather Hemming officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Flowers from the immediate family only, memorial donations may be made to Central United Church or to Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.

Hope Kathleen Mailman, 81, Pinehurst, Lunenburg County, formerly of Hemford, Lunenburg County, died Monday, April 13, 1992 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Hemford, she was a daughter of the late George and Alemeth (Lohnes) Mailman. She is survived by a son, Vernon, Pinehurst; a sister, Harriet Mosher, New Germany; a brother, Hilton; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren. She ws predeceased by her husband, Loran; a daughter, Virginia; a brother, Arnold . The body is in R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, where fuenral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Grant Walls officiating. Burial will be in Hemford Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to South Shore Regional Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or any charity.

WAGNER, Basil Pershing - 85, Hemford, Lunenburg Co., died Saturday, June 7, 2003, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in New Canada, he was a son of the late Alton and Elva (Sarty) Wagner. He worked on a farm in New Canada when he was younger and in 1944 purchased a store in Hemford, which he ran for 27 years and then drove a school bus for 15 years, all the while working at Christmas trees, which he did most of his life. For 40 years, he sold monuments. He was a past member of the Christmas Tree Association, past president of the Bus Drivers Union and past president of the New Germany District Suburban Hockey League. He was a member of Hemford Fire Department and purchased their first fire truck. As a Masonic Lodge member he was raised August 10, 1945, in Hillcrest Lodge, New Germany. He was Past Master of Hillcrest, Past District Deputy Grand Master and Past Grand Pursuivant of Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia. Past Grand Master of The 3rd Vail of The Grand Chapter and Past High Priest of LaHave Chapter of Royal Arch Masons. He received his 50 year Jewel in 1995 and the 55 year bar in 2002. He is survived by his wife, the former Iris Julia Wile, and son, Garnet Basil, both of Hemford; brothers, Glen, New Glasgow; Richard, Berwick; sister, Alice, Sudbury, Ont. He was predeceased by his brothers, Moyle, Lowell, Maurice; sisters, Pearl, Olive, Lorna, Florence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany, with visiting 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service to be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in Emmanuel United Church, Hemford, Rev. Nancy Price officiating. Burial in Hemford Cemetery, Hemford. Donations may be made to Hillcrest Masonic Lodge, New Germany and Area Medical Centre or a charity of choice.

VEINOT, Ila Grace - 96, Rosedale Home For Special Care, New Germany, formerly of Hemford, passed away November 1, 2004, in the home. Born in East Clifford, she was a daughter of the late Sanford and Nettie (Aulenback) Crouse. Surviving are her daughter, Grace Colp (William), Nineveh; sons, Roland (Gerry), Pleasant River; Cyril, Hemford, Alfred (Norma), Halifax; Hilton (Carolyn), Hemford; sisters, Helen Fancy, Laura Frail, both of Westfield; brothers, Leo (Hilda), Earl (Irene), both of North Brookfield; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John; son, Clifford; brother, Laurie; sister, Viola; grandsons, Tracey and Richard "Ricky". There will be no visitation in the funeral home. Private family graveside service will be held in Hemford Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Hemford Cemetery.

Miss Hazel Winnifred Veinot
After a long illness the death of Miss Hazel Winnifred Veinot occurred at the home of her brother, Stanley Veinot, New Germany, on Thursday morning, March 10th. She was a daughter of John C. Veinot and the late Clarissa Frail Veinot and was 46 years of age. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Hawthonre Rebekah Lodge NO. 94 I.O.O.F., and was active in the work of both as long as health permitted. Surviving besides her father are two sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Carl Mosher), and Ruby (Mrs. George Feindel); four brothers, Stanley, Walter, Herman and Robert, all of New Germany; also a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at the home of her father on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.L. Myra. Pallbearers were Gordon Chesley, Oscar Wentzell, Atwood Meisner and Carmon Meisner, Jr. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery at New Germany, where services were also conducted by Sisters of Hawthorne Rebekah Lodge.

WILE, LeRoy F. - 61, Wileville, Lunenburg County, died November 16, 1992, at home. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Otto and Louise (Frank) Wile. He is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Tufts; three sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Robert Wilkie), Lunenburg; Esther (Mrs. Cyril Wentzell), Baker Settlement, Lunenburg County; Phyllis (Mrs. Gerald Bruhm), Wentzell's Lake, Lunenburg County; brother, Wilson, Wileville. He was predeceased by a brother, Ellis; two sisters, Marjorie, Kathleen. The body is in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, where funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Diabetes Association or any charity.

AMERO, James Thomas Scott - 68, Weymouth North, Digby County, died March 5, 1994, in Digby General Hospital. Born in Plympton, he was a son of the late Frank and Esther (Marioon) Amero. He is survived by his common-law wife, Janet Gaudet; daughter, Isabelle, Moschelle, Annapolis County; two sons, Robert Amero, Hampton; Robert Gaudet, Lewistown Road; three sisters, Olive, Plympton; Phyllis (Mrs. Gordon Vantassell), Norma (Mrs. Fred Hamilton), both of Digby; four brothers, Camillie, Edward, Clifton, all of Plympton; George, Ontario; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Evelyn Fredericks; two brothers, Jerome, Daily; three sisters, Bessie, Stella, Jean. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Jayne's Funeral Home, Weymouth North. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Plympton, Rev. Thomas McQuade officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Lung Association.

George Warren Shaw, 53, of Annapolis County, died Tues in Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville. Born in Bridgetown, he was the son of Cecil Shaw and the late Leola (Ollie) Fredericks. He was employed with the department of transportation at the time of his death. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 33, Bridgetown. Surviving are his wife, the former Clara Veinot: four daughters, Carolyn, Bagotville, Quebec; Mary, Kentville; Shirley and Marilyn at home. A son George, Nictaux. A sister Madelyn, Mochelle, Annapolis County. Three brothers, Donald, Bridgetown. Cecil, Roundhill. Gordon, Schefferville Quebec and a grandson.The body is at Warren T Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, where funeral service will be held Friday at 10.00, AM, Rev. Donald Sharpe officiating. Burial will in Holy Trinity Anglican cemetery, Middleton.

RAMEY, Charles W. - 90, West Northfield, died February 28, 1993, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in West Northfield, he was a son of the late Solomon and Alice (Rhodenizer) Ramey. He is survived by his wife, the former Ethel Wentzell; two daughters, Greta (Mrs. Robert Lowe), Bridgewater; Dawn, at home; two brothers, Webster, Waltham, Mass.; Wilbert, Clarence, Annapolis County; sister, Ina Lamprey, Derry, N.H.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Sadie, Jennie. The body is in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, visiting 7-9 p.m. today, where funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. William Gustafson officiating, assisted by Rev. Grant Walls. Burial will be in Maplegrove Cemetery, West Northfield. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to any charity.

VEINOT, Albert Reginald- Reg Veinot of Garnett Settlement went to be with his Lord and Saviour at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 4, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Born 1930 in Round Hill, Nova Scotia to the late Henry and Mary Etta (Chute) Veinot. Reg was a proud army veteran. Later in his career he worked as a truck driver and heavy duty mechanic. He worked for Brunswick Petroleum for over 38 years retiring in 1985. Some of Reg’s many hobbies were working in his carpenter shop and driving his # 6 stock car. He was well known as the “The Big Onion”. At the age of 74 Reg was proud to be one of the winners of the “Historical Racing Series” in 2004. Reg was a very devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Audrey (Garnett) of Garnett Settlement, daughter Valerie Anderson (Douglas) of Hampton, sons Brian “Kipper” (Angie) of Passakeag, Blaine (Marilyn) of Upham, Christopher (Sharon) of Saint John and Wayne (Melanie) of Upham, step children Kimberley Harrison (David) of Ontario, Kelly Buckley (Stephen) of Garnett Settlement, Scott Heaysman (Tracy) of Garnett Settlement, Todd Heaysman of Saint John, Michael Heaysman (Patsy) of Grove Hill, Wayne Dionne of Upham, Joseph Dionne and Ronald Dionne both of Saint John, brother Stanley (Isabelle) of Ontario; sisters Millie Goucher of Ontario, Dorothy Stewart of Nova Scotia and Minnie Veinot of New Jersey; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; many great step grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, Reg was predeceased by his first wife Rosalind (Amero) Veinot; second wife Theresa (Dionne) Veinot and his son James Veinot. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday and Thursday January 5th and 6th from 2-4 & 7- 9 p.m. A Legion Tribute will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday January 7th at 1:00 p.m.
Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations in Reg’s memory can be made to the NB Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

MacKAY, Marlene Elizabeth - 57, Upper Northfield, died March 7, 1996, at home. Born in Union Square, she was a daughter of Bessie Dena (Wagner) Veinot, Union Square and the late Lawrence Russell Veinot. She was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, the church council, was secretary/ treasurer, president of the ladies guild and past member of the ladies auxiliary of Northfield and District Fire Department. Surviving are daughters, Wendy (Mrs. Robert Looke), Scarsdale; Winnifred (Mrs. Kevin Wentzel), Upper Northfield; Teena (Mrs. Larry Meisner), North York, Ont.; son, Clayton, Upper Northfield; eight grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia (Mrs. Theodore MacKay), Union Square; Venita (Mrs. Moyle Naas), Barss Corner; brothers, Merle, Union Square; Sherman, Halifax; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Calvin. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in New Germany Funeral Home, 4895 Rte. 10, New Germany. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield. Donations to St. Paul's Anglican Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Diabetes Assocation.

Born in Colpton, he was a son of the late Charles and Gladys (Heim) Colp. He was a member of Trinity United Church, Pleasant River. Surviving are his daughters, Louise (Rodney) Hall, Molega Lake; Maxine (Vonnie) Simpson, Stanley Section; Debbie (David) Schnare, Nineveh; son, Barry (Judi) Nineveh; brothers, Norman, Bridgetown; Simeon, Walter, both of Colpton; sisters, Jean Gaudet, Sackville; Gertrude MacKay, Colpton; Beatrice Fancy, Pleasant River; Lillian Jefferson, Clayton Park; Francis Kempton, Caledonia; grandchildren, Kimberly Simpson, LoriAnn Hall, Shauna Schnare, Savanna Schnare, Zachary Colp, Alexandra Colp, William Colp; great-grandson, Matthew Weagle; numerous nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Grace Veinot; son, Richard "Ricky" Colp; brothers, Harris, Joseph, Ernest; sister, Bertha and Betty; grandsons, Tracy Simpson, Geoff Hall. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. today in Lakeview Cemetery, Pleasant River, Merna Crouse officiating. Family flowers only. VEINOT, General Vance - 85, Caledonia, Queens Co., formerly of Nineveh, Lunenburg Co., died November 8, 2001, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Nineveh, he was a son of the late Henry and Winnie (Zinck) Veinot.
