AALDERS, Mae Marie - 79, Aaldersville, Kings County, died November 3, 1993, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (Crouse) Cross. She resided in the Aaldersville area for over 58 years, where she was a member of St. James Anglican Church. She taught school in New Russell and Italy Cross, Lunenburg County. She is survived by her husband, Clayton; son, Ronald, Coldbrook; daughter, Sybil (Mrs. Don Butler), North Alton, Kings County; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Carl; sister, Leah. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. James Anglican Church, Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial will be in Aaldersville Anglican Cemetery. Donations may be made to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or any charity.

ZINCK, Hattie Idella - 96, Bridgewater, formerly of Clearland, Lunenburg Co., died December 31, 2000, at home. Born in Walden, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Appleton and Emma (Dorey) Keddy. Surviving are her sons, Lloyd, Harold, Clearland; Gordon, Walburne; Leo, Bridgewater; daughter, Nellie Joudrey, LaHave; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Enos; son, Raymond; brothers, Essie and Henry; sisters, Eliza, Alice, Naomi; grandson, Michael. No visitation by request. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Thursday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Rev. Jack Hooper officiating. Burial in Clearland Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the family.

WHITMAN, Olive Waitee - 93, Inglisville, passed away September 3, 2005, in Inglisville. Born in New Elm, Lunenburg Co., she was the daughter of the late Allan and Minna (Fancy) Corkum. She was a member of Inglisville Baptist Church, and enjoyed music, bingo and in later years knitting. She is survived by daughters, Betty (Eric) O'Neil, Brickton; Frances (Earl) Whynot, Inglisville; sons, Carrol (Laura) Corkum, Inglisville; Lawrence (Bertha) Whitman, Morse Road, Annapolis Co.; Lester (Jean Currie) Whitman, Fredericton; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Clarence; brother, Aubrey; stepbrother, Harley; stepsisters, Hattie and Bernice. Visitation was held Monday, September 5, from 7-9 p.m. with funeral service today at 2 p.m., both in Middleton Funeral Home (902-825-3448), Rev. Roxanne McGaw officiating. Interment in Whitman Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Donations in memory may be made to Inglisville Baptist Church or a charity of choice.

Enos J. Zinck
Clearland - Enos J. Zinck, 77, of Clearland, Lunenburg County, died Saturday in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Walden, Lunenburg County, he was a son of the late Lamuel and Susie (Joudrey) Zinck. He is survived by his wife, the former Hattie Keddy; a daughter, Nellie (Mrs. Michael Joudrey), Maitland; four sons, Lloyd, Gordon, Harold, and Leo, all of Clearland; five sisters, Annie Newman, halifax; Maggie Zinck, Chelsea; Rosella Moister, New Ross; Florence (Mrs. Aylmer Deal), Windsor Forks; Lidy Moore, Barss Corner; a brother, Samuel, Walden; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Raymond; two sisters, Rena and Hilda; a brother, Harold. The body is in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay, where funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. H. Trenholm officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Clearland.

DAUPHINEE, Donald Murray - 81, Upper LaHave, passed away suddenly at home Tuesday, December 12, 2006. Born in Lower Northfield, he was a son of the late William Arkanas and Eva Maude (Eichel) Dauphinee. He served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. Following the war, he re-enlisted in the army, serving with the Black Watch Regiment until 1958, then he and his family moved to Upper LaHave where he lived until his death. He worked as Produce Manager and later Grocery Manager at the Shamrock Supermarket, Bridgewater, for almost 20 years. Following that he worked at Michelin Tire, Bridgewater, retiring in 1990. He was one of the founding members of the Dayspring and District Fire Department. He was elected Councillor for the Municipality of Lunenburg for two terms, during which time he served on numerous committees and boards. He was a member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Upper LaHave, where he had been a member of the church council. In his spare time, he enjoyed cultivating his Christmas trees, his garden, and golfing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Georgie (Mills) Dauphinee; daughters, Nancy Dauphinee (Tony Smith), Crouse's Settlement; Susan Joudrey (John), Midville Branch; and son, Ian Dauphinee, Calgary; grandchildren, Megan Atkinson, Halifax; Brian Atkinson, Toronto; Laura Atkinson, Tokyo; Dennis Joudrey, Calgary; Scott Joudrey, at home; Geoffrey Smith, at home, and Geoffrey's sisters, Christine and Jennifer Smith; brother, Lester, Mahone Nursing Home, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Evans, Bert, Malcolm, Wallace, Owen, Albert, Harry, and sister, Carrie. His body has been cremated. Visitation will be held 7-8:30 p.m. today and Friday from 2-3:30 p.m. in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway. No. 3, Lunenburg. Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 16, at 2 p.m. in St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Upper LaHave, Rev. Douglas Chard officiating. Interment immediately following in St. Matthew's Cemetery. Afterwards a reception will be held in St. Matthew's Parish Hall, Dayspring. Donations may be made to St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Upper LaHave, Dayspring and District Fire Department, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.

DAUPHINEE, Owen Clyde - 75, West Northfield, died March 19, 1996, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lower Northfield, he was a son of the late Arkanis and Eva (Eikle) Dauphinee. He was employed as a woods camp cook with Bowater Mersey for over 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Glenis (Zinck); son, Franklyn, West Northfield; daughter, Susan (Mrs. Roger Zinck), Auburndale; brothers, Bert, West Northfield; Donald, Upper LaHave; Evans, Lower Northfield; Lester, Barss Corner; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by sister, Carrie Joudrey; brothers, Albert, Malcolme, Harry, Wallace. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, funeral 10:30 a.m. Friday, both in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. John Pierce and Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. REEVES, Blaine Harding - 64, of The Forties, Lunenburg Co., NS, passed away February 13, 2001, in the Fisherman's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, NS. Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Robert and Daisy (Keddy) Reeves. In his earlier years, he was employed with Sears Canada Ltd. and for the 7-Up Company in Halifax and he was employed most of his life as a woodsman in the New Ross area. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Christ Anglican Church, New Ross and the St. Augustine Anglican Church, The Forties. He is survived by his wife, the former Veronica Bezanson; sons, Blaine (Sandi), Bridgewater; and Dana (Susan), The Forties; a daughter, Stephanie (David) Sweeney, Halifax; seven grandchildren, Julie, Jason, Nathan, Nicole and Nyle Reeves; Jesse and Larissa Sweeney; brothers, Ashton, The Forties; Arthur and Dean, New Ross; Parker, New Brunswick; sister, Dora (Ron) Oakley, Halifax; Sylvia Webber, Chester Basin; Bertha (Charles) Russell, New Ross; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Cecil; sister, Hattie. Visitation 3-5, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Chapel, New Ross. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday in the Christ Anglican Church, New Ross, Reverend Gordon Neish officiating. Burial in the St. Augustine Anglican Church Cemetery, The Forties. No flowers by request. ZINCK, Samuel Roy - 87, Walden, Lunenburg County, died Monday 21 Oct 1991 in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Walden, he was a son of the late Lemuel and Mary (Crossland) Zinck. He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen ( Mrs. Paul Nauss), Newburne; a son Allister, Walden; four half-sisters, Rosella Miester, New Ross; Florence (Mrs. Elmer Deal), Leminster; Ann Newman, Dartmouth; Margaret Zinck, Chelsea; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren . He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marquerite Joudrey; two sons, Nelson, Stewart; three half-sisters, Grace, Lydia, Rena; two half-brothers, Harlod, Enos. The body is in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Gorden Aucoin officiating. Burial will be in Walden Cemetery . Donations may be made to Nova Scotia Diabetes Association or Fishermen's Memorial Hospital.

Aalders, Clayton Ernest-- 78, Aaldersville, Lunenburg Co., died March 11, 1995, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Aaldersville, he was a son of the late Henry and Bessie (Veinot) Aalders. He lived in Aaldersville most of his life and was a member of the Aaldersville Anglican Church. He worked for Perry Rand Ltd. and M.A. Condon Construction for a number of years. Survivng are a daughter, Sybil (Mrs. Donald Butler), North Alton, Kings Co.; son, Ronald, Cold Brook; sister, Mrs. Annie Russell, Chester; brother, Harry, Berwick; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mae Cross; son, Carl; brothers, Paul, Cecil, Arnold, Kenneth; sisters, Theresa, Elsie, Della. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 PM today in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville. Funeral 2 PM Tuesday in Aaldersville Anglican Church, Rev. Gordon Neish Officiating. Burial in family lot in Aaldersville Anglican Cemetery. BECK, Kathleen Marie "Kathy" - 63, South Berwick, Kings Co., passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Newburne, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Hibbert and Hilda Marie (Mansfield) Dorey. She was a homemaker all of her life and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Surviving are sons, Ricky Beck, South Berwick; Andrew Beck, at home; daughters, Gail Prest, Halifax; Lissa Beck, Toronto, Ont.; grandchildren, Brett, Heather, Alex, Mason, Kaylan and Robert; brothers, Stanley (Geneva) Dorey, Somerset, Kings Co.; Maynard (Delma) Dorey, Bridgewater; Carman (Noreen) Dorey, New Cornwall, Lunenburg Co.; Bernard (Judy) Dorey, Wileville, Lunenburg Co.; sisters, Joan Zinck, Feltzen South, Lunenburg Co.; Irene (Donald) Beck, Newburne; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond H. Beck; brother, Merlin Dorey; sisters, Mary Dorey (in infancy) and Joyce Dorey. Visitation for family and close friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 27, Rev. Donald MacPherson officiating, with burial in Berwick Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch.

Oickle, Annie Jane - Pinehurst - Annie Jane Oickle, 62, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 1986 at the Dawson Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Upper Northfield, she was the daughter of the late Jason and Sadie (Wolfe) MacKay. She worked for National Sea Products for seven years. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 102, New Germany. She also was a member of the St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, West Northfield. She is survived by her husband Rex Oickle; five sons, Theodore MacKay, Union Square; Boyd, Cookville; Gregory, Bridgewater; Larry, Pinehurst; (see note at end) two brothers, Eugene, Upper Northfield; Rex, Lower Northfield; nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Keith MacKay and an infant sister. The body rested at Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral service was held Saturday, March 15, 1986 from St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, West Northfield with Rev. Gustafson officiating. Burial was in Pinehurst Cemetery.

KAULBACK, Earl James - 88, formerly of Oakland, Lunenburg Co., died November 26, 2002, in Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay. Born in Oakland, he was a son of the late James and Mary (Acker) Kaulback. In earlier years he had been employed with Smith and Rhuland Shipyard, Lunenburg, where he had worked on the building of the Bluenose II, Rose and Bounty. Prior to that, he had worked for Bowater-Mersey Pulp and Paper for a number of years. He is survived by son, James "Jimmy" and his wife Carolyn, Blockhouse; daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Lowe and her husband Gordon, Blockhouse; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Tanner); brother, John. No visiting by request. A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay, Rev. Douglas Porter officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or Park Cemetery Fund, Mahone Bay. Arrangements are entrusted to Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay.

OICKLE, Kendall Samuel "Sam" - 71, Stanburne, Lunenburg Co., died June 22, 2002 in South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Stanburne, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Percy and Ellen (Jodrey) Oickle. He was self-employed as a farmer and sawmill operator. He enjoyed participating in horse and ox pulling competitions. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Jodrey); sons, Gary (Marie), Dartmouth; Larry (Valorie), Bridgewater; Terry (Cynthia), Stanburne; Neil (Cheryl), Stanburne; Noel (Helen), Scarsdale; daughters, Sharon (Ronald Everest), Yarmouth; Deborah (Thomas Reeves), Forties; 12 grandchildren; sister, Edith (Wentzell), Cookville. He was predeceased by sister, Madeline (Bassett); brothers, Arnold and Laurie. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Langille's Funeral Home. Service will be held 2 p.m. today in St. John's in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany, Rev. Gloria McClure-Fraser officiating. Family flowers only. VEINOT, Peter - It is with great sorrow that the family of Peter Veinot announces his passing Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Peter loved the outdoors. He was a well known trapper and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Peter was an active member of his community and was involved with many different organizations over the years such as the Larder Lake Fire Dept. where he was a Fire Marshall, Larder Lake First Response Unit, Larder Lake Ski Club, Scout Master, Larder Ski-doo Club, and was a local Historian. He built and repaired numerous homes in Larder Lake and left numerous carpentry projects to family and friends. Peter was a “Jack of All Trades“ as he was a Ski-doo dealer; repaired small engines; rented canoes; groomed the cross country trails; built the Larder Lake Ski Club; member of the Ontario Trappers Managers Federation, the Trappers Council and was a senior member of the Turtle Deer Hunting Group and the Citizen Committee. He was predeceased by his wife Murielle Veinot and daughter Linda. Peter will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Darlene; brother Glen (Debbie) Veinot and sister Shirley Smith. He will also be missed by his children Donald (Gayle) Veinot, Audrey (Yvon) Dupuis, Shirley Veinot, Brenda Veinot, Louise (John) Schmidt, Pam Jack and Neil (Melissa) Jack; grandchildren Daniel Gosselin, Lisa Aird, Ryan and Christine Schmidt, Joani Fox, Stanley Veinot and Matthew Veinot and 6 great grandchildren. The Veinot family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the “Teck-Hughes“ Chapel of the Monette & French Funeral Home on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Peter will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Peter's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.

MacKAY, Eugene Calvin - 65, Upper Northfield, died March 7, 1996, at home. Born in Upper Northfield, he was a son of the late Jason Mont and Sadie Jane (Wolf) MacKie. He was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Union Square, acting as senior warden. He was a past employee of Bowater Mersey Paper Company, Synder's Shipyard and was a retired employee of Michelin Tire Company, Bridgewater. Surviving are daughters, Wendy (Mrs. Robert Looke), Scarsdale; Winnifred (Mrs. Kevin Wentzel), Upper Northfield; Teena (Mrs. Larry Meisner), North York, Ont.; son, Clayton, Upper Northfield; brother, Rex, Lower Northfield; eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marlene Elizabeth Veinot; sisters, Mary and Bertha in infancy, Annie. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in New Germany Funeral Home, 4895 Rte. 10, New Germany. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Union Square, Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield. Donations to St. Paul's Anglican Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Diabetes Association.
