Born in Waterloo, she was a daughter of the late Albert St. Clair and Sadie (Wile) Veinot. Helen was a member of Bridgewater Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Ross (Ginny), Walter (Judy), both of Hebbville; sister, Grace, Greenfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer; three grandchildren; brothers, Wilbert, Maurice, Ernest, Harry, Murray, Hazen and Lawrence. Visitation 2-4 p.m., Sunday, with funeral service 2 p.m., Monday, both in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Rev. Eric Campbell officiating. Interment in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Bridgewater Baptist Church, Hillside Pines Home for Special Care, Bridgewater or the charity of your choice.

HUBLEY, Myrtle Avis - 89, Hillside Pines Nursing Home, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., formerly of Union Square, Lunenburg Co., died January 11, 1996, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Union Square, she was a daughter of the late Stannage and Josephine (Veinotte) Veinotte. She was a member of Barss Corner United Baptist Church and Sunday school; Barss Corner Ladies Auxiliary; life member of Baptist Women's Missionary Society; Women's Institute of Nova Scotia; New Horizon's Senior Citizens Club, New Germany and Parkdale-Maplewood Museum. Surviving are daughter-in-law, Barbara Hubley, Oakhill; four grandchidlren; two great-grandchildren; foster son, Pearlie Carver, Rockland, Maine; three foster grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; son, Lormier; brothers, Moyle, Clyde, infant Glen. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday in Barss Corner United Baptist Church, Barss Corner, Rev. Karl Uhrstrom officiating. Burial in Barss Corner Community Cemetery. Immediate family flowers only. SILVER, Winnie - 101, Nineveh, Lunenburg County, formerly of Hemford, Lunenburg County, died April 26, 1994, in Nineveh. Born in Hemford, she was a daughter of the late David and Ellen (Veinot) Silver. She was a member of Hemford United Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her son, Melvin, Hemford; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven sisters, Anna, Ella, Dora, Beatrice, Hattie, Edith, Jessie; six brothers, Herbert, Edmund, Walter, Ford, Naaman, Alden. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Hemford United Church, Rev. Grant Walls officiating. Burial will be in Hemford Cemetery. Family flowers only. JOUDREY, Harold S. - 81, Blockhouse, Lunenburg County, died October 28, 1993, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Maitland, Lunenburg County, he was a son of the late Theophilus and Eva (Jodrey) Joudrey. He had been employed with the track department of the Canadian National Railways for 25 years, retiring as a foreman. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay and the Bluenose Senior Citizens Club, Lunenburg. He was an avid woodsman and gardener. He is survived by his wife, the former Reta Zwicker; two daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Philip Korb), Seattle, Wash.; Paulette (Mrs. Wayne Nauss), Halifax; two sons, Mervyn, Blockhouse; Perry, Kingston; sister, Hattie (Mrs. Sidney Barry), Maitland; two brothers, Howard, Emery, both of Blockhouse; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a brother, Arnold. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday in St. James Anglican Church, Rev. Linda Macdonald officiating, assisted by Rev. George Wawin. Burial will be in the Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Blockhouse Amalgamated Cemeteries or Blockhouse Fire Department.

Henry Joseph Lohnes, 75, of Colpton, passed away Saturday, January 14, 1995, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, after fifteen and a half months illness.Born in Nineveh, Lunenburg County, November 7, 1919, he was the son of the late Henry Craswell and Clara Mae (Johnson) Lohnes. He was a carpenter for a number of years until retirement.He is survived by one daughter, Rena (Mrs. Allan G. Crouse), Colpton; two grandchildren, Chad and Nancy Crouse; four sisters, Daisy Cochrane, Halifax; Doris (Mrs. Roy Veinot), Liverpool; Cavell Veinot, Hemford; and Marion Campbell, Saint John.He was predeceased by his wife, the former Beatrice Crouse; sisters, Glennie and Mildred; brother, Warren, in infancy.The body rested at R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. The largely attended funeral was held Tuesday, January 17, 1995, at 2:00 p.m. in the Emmanuel Union Church, Hemford, with the Rev. Grant Walls officiating. Interment was in the Hemford Cemetery.

Arnold W. Joudrey, 77, Maitland, passed away Sunday, August 18, 1990, at the SSR Hospital.
Born in Maitland, where he lived his entire life, he was a son of the late Theophilus and Eva (Jodrey) Joudrey. He was a lifelong member of Christ Anglican Church, Maitland.
He is survived by a sister, Hattie, Mrs.Sidney Barry, Maitland; three brothers, Harold, Howard, and Emery, all of Blockhouse.
He was predeceased by an infant sibling.
The body rested at the Mahone Funeral Home, and the funeral service was held on Thursday, August 23, from Christ Church with the Rev.Rod Gillis officiating.
Interment was in the Church Cemetery. Hymns sung were "Come to the Saviour" and " In Christ There is no North or South."
Pallbearers were Ray Barry, John Barry, Claude Meisner, Palmer Aulenback, Cecil Joudrey, and Roy Mader.

NOWE, Maxine Gloria - 51, Parkdale, Lunenburg County, died June 21, 1993, in Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Vera (Hyson) Snyder. She is survived by her husband, Leo; stepmother, Mrs. Mabel Snyder, Simpsons Corner, Lunenburg County; three sons, Jerry, Steven, both of New Ross; Andrew, Parkdale; three sisters, Irene Emino, Shirley (Mrs. Ellison Leary), both of Simpsons Corner; Marion (Mrs. Norman Hill), New Germany; three brothers, Roland, Upper Northfield; Bryden, Allen, both of Watford; two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Grace; two sisters, Harriet, Verna; two brothers, Max, Russell. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in New Germany Funeral Home, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Karl Uhrstrom officiating. Burial will be in Parkdale Baptist Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to any charity.

Sidney Albert Barry, 80, Maitland, died August 31, 1998, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Maitland, he was a son of the late Archibald and Muriel (Barry) Barry. He was a member and past warden of Christ Anglican Church, Maitland. He worked several years in the Yukon for the Canadian National Railway. When he returned home, he worked for Maritime Manufacturers and Brady's Building Supplies, Bridgewater. Surviving are his wife, the former Hattie A. Joudrey; foster sons, Gregory Whynot, Maitland; Barry Smith, Texas; Victor Hazel; sisters, Nellie (Mrs. Donald Feindel), Bridgewater; Isabel (Mrs. Ray Barry), Maitland; brothers, Henry, Marriots Cove; Lloyd, Edmonton; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by sisters, Helen Seamone, two in infancy; brothers, Cecil, Eric, George, Kenneth. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish Street, Mahone Bay. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday in Christ Anglican Church, Maitland, Rev.Linda MacDonald officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.

RAMEY, Elmer St. Clair - 84, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., died February 1, 1996, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Wellington, Queens Co., he was a son of the late Albert Dean and Mary Jane (Freeman) Ramey. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Veinot; sons, Ross, Walter, Hebbville, Lunenburg Co.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Ross, Hardy, Frank, Aubrey, Albro; sisters, Hattie, Mabel, Bertie; a granddaughter. Visitation 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. today, both in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. Rev. Hugh McNally officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Immediate family flowers only. JOUDREY, Howard Anderson - 89, Blockhouse, died January 16, 2005, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Sweetland, he was a son of the late Theophilus and Eva (Joudrey) Joudrey. Howard took great interest in gardening and working in the woods. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, where he and his late wife, Joyce had both served as sextons for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Joan Rogers (Donnie Eikle), Pine Grove; son, Michael Joudrey (Donna Howe), Kitchener, Ont.; sister, Hattie Barry, Maitland, Lunenburg Co.; brother, Emery Joudrey (Lily), Blockhouse; grandchildren, Tracey and Michelle Joudrey, Nicole and Ashley Rogers, Nicholas Howe; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Josiah and Yosvany. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Marie (Slauenwhite); an infant son; brothers, Arnold and Harold Joudrey. Visiting will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Ian Wissler officiating. Burial will be in Old Blockhouse Cemetery, Blockhouse. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Christ Anglican Church, Maitland, Canadian Diabetes Association or Canadian Cancer Society.

Mary Arlene Veinot, 78, Lapland, Lunenburg County, died June 17, 1999, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Laconia, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Florence (Meisner) Eisnor. Surviving are her husband, Wilbert; step-daughter, Paula Oakley, Waterloo; brother Jordan Eisnor, Lapland; five grandchildren; 10 geat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Earl; sisters, Sadie; Lillie. No visitation by family request. Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Rev. Hugh McNally officiating. VEINOT, Oran Luella - 100, East Dalhousie, Annapolis Co., passed away on Friday, April 25, 2008, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in the Forties, she was a daughter of the late James and Sarah (Daniels) Hiltz. Surviving are her daughter, Beatrice Lowe, Cherryfield Road; grandchildren, Patsy (Curtis) Spidle, Dianne (Peter) Silver, all of New Germany; Lisa (Kriss) Seamone, Midville Branch; Karl (Sherry) Lowe, Aylesford; Blaine, Simpsons Corner; Elaine Veinot (Kenny), Annapolis Valley; Rigby (Sheryl) Veinot, East Dalhousie; Daron Veinot (Paulette), Annapolis Valley; nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Gordon Veinot; son, Gordon "Bud"; sisters, Wihelminia, Elizabeth, Roxy; brothers, Percy, James, Wilfred, Arthur, Matthew, and Foster. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Sweeny's Funeral Home, 4895 Route 10, New Germany. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday in St. Cyprian's Anglican Church, East Dalhousie, Rev. Anna Hoeg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family flowers only. HILTZ, Pauline Marguerite - Ocean View Apartments, Western Shore, Lunenburg Co., died December 3, 2003, at home. Born on Herman's Island, she was a daughter of the late Prescott and Vera (Barry) Joudrey. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church and choir, the Royal Canadian Legion, Everett Branch 88 Ladies Auxiliary, Chester Basin, Chester Basin Over 40 Club and the Sunnyside Club. She was also an avid card player and loved bus trips with her friends. She is survived by daughters, Vera (John) Reeves, Martins Point; Golda Countway (Roy Abel), Calgary, Alta.; Marcia Bezanson, Bridgewater; son, Roger Hiltz (Krystal Payne), Calgary; grandchildren, Kelly (Sandra) Countway, Jayne (Scott) MacKenzie, Amanda (Darrin) Swinimer, Kempton Stevens, Arthur Bezanson; great-grandchildren, Drake, Bailey, Tarah, Rebecca; sisters, Evelyn, New Hampshire, U.S.A.; Ethel, Dominion, Cape Breton. She was predeceased by her husband, Reuben; brother; Gerald. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, in St. John's Anglican Church, Chester Basin, Rev. Tom Kerr and Rev. Ron Barkhouse officiating. Burial in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Borgalds Point Road. A reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Chester Basin Over 40 Club or Western Shore Volunteer Fire Department, Pumper Fund.
