VEINOTT, Audrey Juanita — 78, of Bridgetown, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Young's Cove, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Ida (Gregory) Guest. In her early years she was employed as a cook with the Annapolis General Hospital and later retired from Britex Limited. Audrey enjoyed attending variety shows that featured country and western music and was a cat lover who took great pleasure in feeding the strays who visited her daily. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Veinott-Hudson, Bridgetown; son, Richard, Bridgetown; sister, Vera Hashem, Windsor; brothers, Edwin (Esther) Guest, Annapolis Royal; Hugo (Karen) Guest, Young's Cove; Ricky (Lisa) Guest, Parker's Cove, and grandson Chad, Halifax. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Allen. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service was held Thursday, November 5, in the Centrelea Cemetery, Pastor David Cumby officiated. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Diabetic Association.
GUEST, Hugo Douglas — 59, of Young’s Cove, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2010, in Annapolis Community Health Centre surrounded by his family. Born in Annapolis General Hospital on June 19, 1951, he was a son of the late Douglas and Ida (Gregory) Guest. Hugo worked at Britex for 35 years and in his remaining years he was a bus driver for A.V.R.S.B. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Karen Bent; daughters, Shelly Hudson, Young’s Cove; Lynn Guest, Digby; stepson, Tim Bent, Phinney Cove. stepdaughter, Shelly Bent, Wilmot; brothers, Edwin (Esther), Annapolis Royal; Ricky (Lisa) Parker’s Cove; sister, Vera Hashem, Windsor; granddaughters, Mandra and Melanie Hudson and grandson, Justin Heey; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Hugo was predeceased by his brother, Floyd in infancy; sister, Augrey Veinott and son-in-law, Stacy Hudson. No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A service of remembrance will be held Monday, July 5, at 2 p.m. in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Interment in Condon Cemetery, Young’s Cove. Lawrence LeRoy Getson, Sr., 75, Newcombville, died January 2, 1997, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bakers Settlement, he was a son of the late Lester and Mabel (Bolivar) Getson. Surviving are his wife, the former Marion Baker, Springfield; son, Lawrence, Jr., Newcombville; daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Aubrey McCarthy), Hebbville; Marjorie (Mrs. Bruce Oakes), Bridgewater; Marsha (Mrs. Paul Veinot), Springfield; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Millie Conrad, 82, Conquerall Bank, died December 26, 1970 in the Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay.
Born in Camperdown, she was the daughter of the late Hilbert and Lydia (Veinot) Weagle, and the widow of Angus Conrad. She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (Mrs. H. E. Oxner), Kearney Lake; two step-sons, Foster, Oxford, Mass; Terry, Barrington, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. Ina Crouse, Dartmouth; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Wamback Memorial Chapel, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ray Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Leaf Cemetery, Conquerall Bank.
THOMAS JOSEPH LOHNES
Thomas Joseph Lohnes, 83, of East Dalhousie passed away Wednesday June 6, 1990, in South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater. Born in East Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Orben and Devilla (Veinot) Lohnes. He was former woodsman and farmer all his life. He is survived by his wife the former Evelyn Joudrey; two daughters Julia (Mrs. Elmer Whynot), East Dalhousie and Carola (Mrs. Kenneth Acker), Hastings; three sons Earl, Vincent both of East Dalhousie and Bruce, North River; two sisters Annie (Mrs. Calvin Johnson), Baxter's Harbour and Idella (Mrs. William Oickle) East Dalhousie, 10 grandchildren, nine great grand-children. He was predeceased by four sisters, Hannah, Delia, Lois, Charlotte in infancy, a half brother Lamont.
He rested at Langille's Funeral Home New Germany. Funeral service was held Friday June 8th at 2 p.m. at Cyprians Anglican Church East Dalhousie with Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial was in Church Cemetery. Mrs. Shannon Crooker organist led the choir in singing of the hymns "Abide with Me" and "Rock of Ages".
Pallbearers were Raymond Robar, Murray Robar, Grover Fancy, Errol Crossland, Roland Acker and Donald Wright.

PEARSE, Margaret Ann "Margie" - 67, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., formerly of Hemford, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2008, in Pleasant Rest Home, Bridgewater, where she has been residing. Born in Hemford, she was a daughter of Lily (Wile) Russell, Hemford, and the late Lester Russell. She worked at ARK Industries, Bridgewater, where she also was a member of the Bluebirds Choir; Margaret volunteered for a local church on Friday's folding the Sunday service bulletins. Surviving are her daughter, Janice (Jerry) Mosher, East Clifford Road; grandchildren, Katelyn and Shelby; sisters, Helen (Basil) Durling, Bridgewater; Yvonne (Basil) Varner, Timberlea; Mildred (Roger) Durling, Hemford; Shirley (Rod) Gillis, Lower Sackville; brother, Harry (Marguerite) Russell, Northfield; sister-in-law, Kay Russell, Hamilton, Ont.; many nieces and nephews. RICHARDSON, Evelyn Odessa - 88, Inglisville, died July 26, 2002, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Inglisville, she was a daughter of the late Primrose and Katherine (Daniels) Whitman. She graduated from Lawrencetown High School. She was treasurer and Sunday school teacher of Inglisville United Baptist Church and she was a member of the Women's Missionary Society. In her later years, she loved to travel. In her home, she hosted Children's Bible Club directed by Theresa Character; initiated and attended Vacation Bible School in Inglisville for 17 years; as well as hosting and attending many adult bible studies for many years. She was a member of the Inglisville Helping Hands Ladies Group and Acadia Chapter 4, Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid quilter and knitter. Surviving are daughters, Julia Llewellyn, Lakeville, Kings Co.; Beatrice (James) Nemeth, Lethbridge, Alta.; Louise (Gary) Wagner, Beaver Bank; Juanita Richardson, Inglisville; Ardis Richardson, Halifax; sons, Stanley (Carol), Hilden, Colchester Co.; Laurie (Judy), Mount Hanley; son-in-law, Stuart Sawula, Kentville; sisters, Hilda Naugler, Middleton; Doris Veinot, Kentville; Kathleen (David) Gillrie, Fredericton; grandchildren, Darrell, Sara Lee, Pamala, Marvin, Crystal, Sheldon, Ryan, Carmen, Lisa, Scott, Jason, and Gregory; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. VEINOT, Patricia Jane, died Saturday, April 27, 2002 in Ontario. Born March 22, 1938 in Bridgetown, she was the daughter of Lisa and Charlie Connell. She grew up in Middleton and later in life moved to Ontario. She is survived by husband Elmer; daughters Teresa (Mrs. John Smith), Lisa (Mrs. Doug McInnes); sons Jeff, Larry (Bev), Steven (Jenny); sisters Gloria (Mrs. Carl Robar), Middleton; Ann Brown, WInnipeg; Judy (Mrs. Tim Corbin, ), Yarmouth; eight grandchildren. DEMONE, Harold Joseph - 84, Lunenburg, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005, in Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born in First Peninsula, he was the son of the late Willis and Susannah (Veinote) Demone. Harold served for a short time with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War and after the war he worked with Lunenburg Foundry and Engineering and later at Smith and Rhuland Shipyards. Harold retired in 1985 after working many years with National Sea Products, Lunenburg. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg and the last surviving member of his immediate family. Harold's determined courage and strength of spirit will be carried forward by those that knew and loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, the former Charlotte Walters; daughter, Suzanne and her husband Dale Isnor, Port Williams; son, Richard and his wife Bonnie, Saint John, N.B.; grandchildren, Darren and Kerri Ann Burgher and Bradley Demone; nephew, Brian Hatt. She was an avid gardner, having a special interest in African violets and her dahlia gardens. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In her earlier years, she and her husband owned and operated, Leigh's Meat Market, Lunenburg. Later, she worked as a clerk at Stedman's Store and the Metropolitan Store, Lunenburg, until her retirement. She was a member of Central United Church, Lunenburg.
